Modern IFVs are usually armored against 14.5 mm AP rounds, which includes SLAP-type rounds plus SAPHEI Raufoss-types. It's really nothing new.

This is to say nothing of frontal protection against 30+ mm APFSDS rounds.

This. Most modern IFVs are being armoured to at least this level.

So got bored the other day and decided On making an Emplaced Anti-Armor/Anti-personal Weapon What do you all think about a belt fed 40mm hydra 70 Rocket MG? I figure a fire rate of around 450 RPm or so. it would Still be a open ended tube and likely Electrically fed.
If this turns out to be impossible would it be feasible To simply mount Hydra 70 pods on a simple mount?

CRV7 rockets. Google them, look for the proposed infantry versions.

60mm Metal Storm mortars are cooler, though.

Now picture how big a machine gun firing it would need to be.

Now do the smart thing and use a six round pod.

I see your point, And besides a 6 round launcher is more than enough, figure 2 rounds each of the AT Flechette, flechette and HE.
