Really there is bugger all you can do to make flame throwers (aside from moving to thermobarics/novel explosive grenade weapons) more effective or controllable without making them even more stupidly dangerous to the operator. Even when using relatively safe stuff like nitrogen and diesel flame throwers were hardly risk free. Messing with stuff thats toxic and liable to simply ignite on contact with air is just nuts.

Does full-auto or burst-fire capability by itself negatively impact accuracy? ( in the general sense, e.g. as in: in SA mode a gun that can only shoot in SA will be more accurate than a gun also firing in SA but that can also fire in FA )?
