Not sure what you looked up, but what I know says most like a 30mm anti-aircraft gun and a 14.5mm co-axial, the turret is going to be pretty much a big RWS with the crew in the hull.

Basically, it's going to be a T-108 that works.

Yep, the light weight and wide track gives it very low ground pressure and excellent mobility across rough terrain. I've heard that it acts as a substitute for BMPs in some places, as well.

Made a new version of my tank. Changed up the turret completely and modified a few things, including a nice looking texture. Last time I posted this tank here, it looked like this.

Criticism/comments?

EDIT: Made an evolution of the M9. In case anyone's interested.

Eh, not really. Black Eagle was pretty much an attempt by Omsk to regain favour, and they didn't really have the money or the support to turn their concept into anything fully fledged. It is what it is, essentially - a stretched T-80 chassis with a low profile turret (like most of the Russian tank concepts from the time). The Armata's tank configuration's probably going to have a low profile turret as well, but beyond that I don't know how similar it'll actually end up being to what Omsk eventually envisioned for the Black Eagle, which wasn't that ambitious in the first place - the low profile turret is probably going to be of a different configuration, while they might, but might not, adopt the reloadable ammunition bustle.

I see, well allot of the technologies the Black Eagle started on was refined by the T-99, then again thats just natural progression at work.

Where does Objekt-195 fit into the family tree of late-century Russian tank concepts?

Was object 225 of cold war meant to be evolutionary and conservative tank design derived from older ones or was it meant to be something more? I tried to dig up, but I am not sure.

It doesn't telescope back into the fighting compartment iirc, only to around the top of the turret.

I was wondering, for a tank-based HIFV with the main armament composed of a single AC, how viable would it be to use the same turret (at least externally identical) as the tank, and put a fake "barrel" (actually a shroud) over the AC barrel so that the two are visually identical ?

A tank is probably a higher-priority target than a personnel carrier.

This one?

It was a "clean sheet" design. Well there are some similarities with the T-64 and T-72, they would not have shared any major components.

Armata is N. Tagil, Black Eagle was Omsk. Armata will build on N. Tagils work on the Object 195 (aka T-95) which wasn't even remotely like the Black Eagle. Given that Russian design bureaus tend to operate in their own little worlds, it is unlikely anything from Black Eagle will contribute to the Armata tank. N. Tagil has even developed its own bustle autoloader.

This is probably a mix-up of the proposed (by Omsk!) Armata-based BMPT. But that is a BMPT, so of course it is bristling with weapons. The gun is only 100mm IIRC though. This image also seems to be the source of the Armata/Black Eagle confusion.

125mm is the main armament of the Armata tank proper.
