Actually I imagine that there would be some sort of metric system in place, only better (with the various traditional units removed completely) because the Emperor was that kind of guy. I also imagine that this system would only ever be used by the high lords and maybe 3 other people. Everyone else would just use what ever units were locally used on their planet, which due to the massive history of each world means you have a billion systems in place. Each completely incompatible with the rest.

On that note, I don't understand how the heck the Imperium maintains communication abilities (as in lingual). High Gothic, I might understand, given that it's maintained by Imperial high-ranking officials and the like, meaning it sees a lot of use in interplanetary discussion and military operations and the like. Low Gothic, though?

There are systems that have been isolated for thousands of years. Entire languages have appeared and died in a fraction of that time, how does Low Gothic stay in style? Furthermore, how do any Guard regiments coordinate with regiments from other worlds, given that their dialects of Low Gothic might be so different that it's entirely unintelligible to the other side?

Now, on-topic:

Using power-armoured units (think SPESS MEHREENS) for heavy weapon and support platforms for standard infantry when vehicles are unavailable, Y/N?

The same way that medieval europe kept functioning. Back in the middle ages you didn't just have one language per country in the modern terms but basically a million dialects. And a person from say Paris could not understand a person from say 100km away in any direction. Even though they were all technically part of France. But because the elites all spoke Latin you could rely on being able to order them and have them translate.

Combine that with the way each system is relatively insular and self contained and how armies tend to be recruited from one world per regiment and you end up with a system that works just fine.

Most regional medieval languages were mutually intelligible as long as you didn't cross vernacular borders, the most obvious example being langues d'oil of Medieval France or Scots/English in Britain.

Latin was only common because it was the language that, prior to the printing press, was what most written documents were in and what international trade was used. They could have used a different language entirely tbh and it wouldn't have made much difference, but it suited Papal interests to pretend to be Western Rome. Maybe if you crossed the border into the Holy Roman Empire you'd start being confused by what sort of tongue these unwashed peasants were speaking, but 100 km of Paris and more was intelligible (it's probably closer to 300-500 km depending on the direction, so you're off by a fair amount).

Since 40K is just a bunch of boring generic memes it's only fair that they copy medieval Europe.

Round like egg shaped or round like a garbage can?

If the first draw a circle then cut it in half. If the second then draw a rectangle and shade it.

Also, try to make the base color a bit lighter. Otherwise it gets hard to shade as the darkest shades become really dramatic, so it is hard to have smooth gradients on the lower end of the spectrum.

Make a gradient that goes from one side to the other with dark parts on the edges and a bright spot in the middle.
Basically this but turned 90 degrees to the side and in what ever color you want.
