Inspired by recent conversation in realism thread, I present my latest wip:

The ill-fated Orbital Combat Test Vehicle (OCTV) The OCTV was designed as a prototype and testbed for SSTO military space planes with an emphasis on combat missions against possibly hostile targets. Difficulties with the development of its Variable Cycle Engines means that the OCTV Prototype is still yet to reach orbit.
Crew: 3
Height: 15 Meters
Length: 92.6 Meters
Wingspan: 33 Meters
Payload: 16 Tones
Armament:
1 x Megawatt Class COIL w/ 120 Seconds worth of power
1 x 6 Missile Rotary Launcher in forward bay
Various Mine or Missile Launchers can be loaded into the main payload bay.

Chemical lasers are awful why do you have one?

Because it's going to be an internationally awful design. As such I want to give it a meh laser with limited shots. Plus chemical lasers don't require as much in the way of electrical power. At any rate I don't intend to go very far with this design. Just threw it together in what little downtime I have left before my CS final.

Electrical power is something spacecraft have in abundance. It's one of the few things they share with nuclear powered warships tbh.

The plan for this is to use fuel cells for electrical power, space shuttle style. I don't think that they'd be enough for a laser weapon.
