Basically this. CYOE is a pretty fast-moving thread, which means it's often on the first page of the Factbooks and National Information results page, and occasionally makes the "Latest Forum Topics" sidebar. So chances are there are a lot of people lurking without posting regularly, or dropping in now and then. And in this case those people see a poll and vote, usually for a person that's in the lead, because why not?

Plus, there are a lot more regular posters and lurkers in a thread than one would think. Even with the special polling method used for Military Ground Vehicles, with the link "hidden" in the OP rather than at the top of the page, 51 people voted and almost all of them are pretty familiar names on that thread.

Honestly I don't see why anyone would go to the trouble of making a dozen puppets for the sole purpose of slightly nudging up their vote count, esp. when even the boosted vote count is still less than a quarter of the front-runner. But people have done stranger things on the internet so w/e.

My guess is that people just vote for whom ever they feel draws best. That's why I ain't voting in this one. My favorite ain't on the list.

So this is basically my first post here. I'm a pretty regular poster over at juniorgeneral, and some people might be familiar with my work on DA. If not, hi, I'm Pelerna.
