The justice systems of the more settled parts of the Sanian Confederacy no longer practice capital punishment as a rule, even for the most heinous crimes. However, this is not out of some altruistic belief that nobody is completely beyond redemption. The Confederate government realised a long time ago that convicts were a plentiful source of labour for large projects, especially hazardous ones.

We currently have a permanent hold on use of a death penalty. While society regards it as a legitimate punishment, our courts think it would be best not to use it.

The death penalty via firing squad has been expanded to be the punishment for the crimes of drunk driving, accepting a bribe, and refusing to perform military service.

The way it is carried out is dependent on where the crime was committed. Certain provinces have certain set of execution methods. Though Federal executions are carried out as death by electrocution. Military Tribunal's have determined a universal hanging as their form of execution. The most popular form of execution in New Zepuha is Electrocution.
