The death penalty is legal and used mostly for serious crimes. In general, the Zokorian people mostly view as an acceptable way to reduce crime.

The firing squad is usually the form of execution used here.

Due to the mostly socially conservative views of the people here in Boneco, the death penalty is used for rape and murder.

Firing squad is the method of execution.

The death penalty is commonly used, but mainly for crimes such as treason, murder and corruption. However, crimes like rape are also occasionally charged with death penalty, and it is technically possible for every crime to be punishable by death should the families or the victims ask for it, and the court approves it. There is on average one execution per week at least.

The main form of execution is by guillotine with an electric release, although other methods are allowed. Prisoners may opt to spin a wheel of misfortune that would dictate the method of execution otherwise, and for a slim chance of commuting to life in prison or even a pardon. However, most choose execution.

The death penalty is used only for the crime of drunk driving, the execution method being firing squad. Luverians view this as acceptable because drunk drivers endanger the lives of others by committing such a serious crime.

No, death is the easy way out.
In crimes that normally get the death penalty, or life in jail they get 'linked' to another person. The linking means that after a few days the person needs to have the specialy made chemicals, without it the person can't do anything, except roll into a ball and wrack with their all consuming need of it, and it's not just that, the criminal can't get more then 50 metres away from their linker. And this is the clincher, that stops 80% of criminals. They have to follow whatever the linker says, they might not want to, or be trying to stop themselves, but their body won't comply, if asked a question they have to be completely honest.

It's a living death.

Yes, but as part of the Retribution Doctrine, rather than as a cornerstone in itself.

The punishment is made to fit the crime. Thieves have their properties confiscated (if they possess no properties, they forfeit one or more limbs in place). Arsonists have their bodies burned just short of death, unless their victim(s) died, in which case the perpetrator is burned at the stake. Rapists are castrated without anaesthesia. Rapists who kill their victims are castrated without anaesthesia then impaled. Kidnappers are crucified until they are almost dead. Kidnappers who torture their victims are tortured in the same manner then crucified until they are almost dead. Kidnappers who kill their victims are crucified until they are dead. Corrupt officials are stripped of their titles, have their properties confiscated and are assigned damnatus status, which is permanent and forbids the acquisition of any property and limits them to the most menial of occupations.

Of course, all of this takes place alongside an imprisonment term. We don't want the profligates getting off too easily now, do we?

The Order takes crime and punishment very seriously. Not much of it happens, strangely enough.

The last act of the death penalty ever being used was in 1848, to execute Mike Cromsbeck, guilty of high treason, before Federation in 1853. Since then, Awesomiasa has had no legal basis for the death penalty, with the highest level of punishment being life imprisonment with a possibility of parole for certain crimes.

The death penalty exists for certain crimes. Treason (might be ambiguous), specific cases of rape, murder, and unethical behavior usually result in the death penalty. Those who are mentally challenged to the point where they cannot function as members of society are also put to death.

In the Marzlbur tribe the death penalty is used for crimes such murder and rape. It is usually carried out by an executioner through beheading. The heads are then placed on pikes on Grinbad hill to serve as a warning. In the case of less heinous crime can choose to serve his time in the Nagradz mine, mining for raw materials, or the offended party may choose to fight them to the death in hand-to-hand combat.

The death penalty is used for a variety of crimes; we believe that strong punishments act as deterrents to potential criminals and represent justice for those that do wrong.

If you're unimportant, you will usually get the death penalty for treason, which includes trying to assassinate the city leadership. If you are important or powerful enough though, you will be exiled. Most Exiles then go to find the largest and most dangerous weapon they can to assassinate the leader of the city that exiled them. All current city leaders were once exiles and killed their predecessors.

Death penalty is legal and has been since the ancient times. There are things worse then death for criminals though.

It is legal and commonly used. Society views Capital Punishment as an appropriate and useful means to getting rid of crime/criminals. Lethal Injection is now the only legal form of Capital Punishment - with the other forms being abolished this year.

We have the death penalty, and consider it appropriate for violent crimes against not merely individuals but society in general - the class of criminals referred to as eall mancynnes fas, foes of all mankind. Simple murder does not warrant the death penalty, but banditry, piracy, slaving, and treason do.

The punishment for the former three is being hanged by the neck until dead. The punishment for the latter is beheading, by axe (for ceorlas) or sword (for æþelingas). We do our best to make these deaths as swift and painless as possible; the goal is to eliminate monsters, not to become them.
