However, the Transoxthraxian miltary is a massive chunk of the spending budget, reaching almost 40% of the expenditures in any given year. Furthermore, this standing, conscripted army is often used in interventionist or imperialist wars, due to the general policy of Jingoism that the government usually has. Finally, the concept of moderation in Transoxthraxian politics has just about lost all meaning to it. There is only the radical right and radical left. Usually, however, the popular majority of the right is in power, however, this doesn't stop the radical left from getting continually more and more militant, which often leads to episodes, classified by the government as "civil episodes".
