I don't know, man. I'm an Imperialist nation, and enforce compulsory service for all men and childless women between 18 and 20 years of age. Plus, citizens aged 16 through 50 are seen as eligible for grunt work. (don't tell, but people with extreme mental disorders are put down, so it's not like a large percentage of this is invalid) Not to mention, the military is HIGHLY valued in our country, and it's considered a grade A career path. I'm sure I may fall within the 5-10% of my population having something to do with the military.

Yes, but you have a "thriving" level of economy and plenty of government funds going to military, you can actually afford that.

My most sovereign Empire of Dragomere believes in the following:

These Nobles shall be given their place for the part that they had played in overthrowing Dracul Dragomere.(2) The Leader of each house shall remain that of the lineage of said houses.(3) The President shall appoint the leader of each house to serve for as long of a term as the president lives.(4) The House of Nobles shall have the following powers,(4a) they shall approve or reject a Senate bill by use of a popular vote,(4b) and they shall have executive powers over the military in their counties.(5) if a vote on a bill is a tie, then The President shall get the deciding vote.
Article 2
(1)The Senate shall be elected by the people.(2) There shall always be a total of 13 senators.(3) The election day for them shall be every four years on January 21.(4) they will be sworn into office on the year that they are elected, on February 21.(5) Senators shall have the following powers,(5a) to propose bills to be passed on to the House of Nobles,(5b) appoints those who sit on any government committees,(5c) appoints department and ministry heads,(5d) can declare war.(6) all bills, appointments, and declarations of war need to have a 7/13 majority to either be passed or dismissed.
Article 3
(1)The President shall be elected by a majority vote of the people.(2) The elections for this position shall occur on July 21.(3) The President is sworn in on October 31.(3) The President serves a life term.(4) the powers of the president include,(4a) The President shall have executive powers over all armed forces in The Empire of Dragomere, both national and county levels,(4b) approves or vetoes bills sent by the House of Nobles,(4c) approves any appointments made by the Senate,(4d) appoints all Nobles from those who are eligible.

(1)The People have the following rights,(1a) the right to a quick and speedy trial,(1b) the right to assymbly,(1c) the right to free speech, as long as what is said is the truth,(1d) the right to free press, as long as what is printed is true,(1e) the right to be Catholic,(1f) the right to a fair trial,(1g) the right to only be tried once for a crime,(1h) the right to vote in any election,(1i) the right to free healthcare,(1j) and the right for fair representation in court.

While you can have whatever you want it's just why do you have so many soldiers in your military? With a budget of over one trillion which is still huge but it's nearly impossible to equip and train all your men to the perfect standard you claim to have. I have a combined military strength of 3,107,600 and with my budget of over eight trillion it is far easier to fund better technology and training for them but this is at reduced man power.

Huh, don't like compulsory military service. We have many military academies and they get loads of new recruits every year as well joining the military in my nation is a very good career choice if you don't mind getting shot at and the risk of death.
Can I ask how is your nation run? Like modern day America?

I don't see compulsory service as a bad thing if they aren't forced to continue their service. It's good for the people, is a decent recruitment scheme, and it doesn't necessarily dilute the professionalism of a military.

That doesn't really answer the point, Drago.

Your government is currently funding that year of compulsory training for everyone, which is costly, which means you lose funding elsewhere.

My government is democratically run. 50% of the total expenditures go to the military. At age 15, all children are taught how to shoot a military grade weapon with expert precision. Only the top 10% get into the military, and only the top 5% get to be on active duty.

Your budget is about the same amount modern day US spends on their military and they struggle, although not that much, to keep their army of five million properly trained and equipped. Five million is that the US army's total size? Anyway, you have more than twice the amount of soldiers and that would mean many can't be given the proper equipment and training they need.
