See the similarities? Also let me rephrase my first post "Could be a AK-101" cause yes it looks like a AK-74M with tan poly because the 101 and the 74 are very similar.

So you don't know when someone's agreeing with you? Sheesh.

Sorry Misunderstood you, was kinda confused
Also the 74M and the 100's are separated in age by roughly 3 years. which is interesting to me cause if the ak-107 exists why use the AK-74M other than cost/ Conversion kits.

EDIT: accidental gunporn for the win!

No prob, bob.

Anyway, the AK-74 went into service in 1974 (obviously). By the time the AK-107 came out (in 1996), the Russians already had so damn many AK-74/74Ms that it was pointless to try to adopt another rifle. That's also why they didn't even look at the AK-12.

Yeah the AK-12 is nice and all but An-94 Is far nicer :) and yeah cost but still the advantages are huge.
Hey Puz would you be willing/not killed for doing an in depth post on the An-94 in respects to handling, accuracy, general feel, and overall opinion on the rifle?

The main military weapon of the country is the AK-102 rifle. It is a shortned version of the AK-101 rifle and fires the 5.56x45mm NATO round. It is usually found with the G&G Armament red dot sight accompanied with a GP-25 grenade launcher. It become popular for durability, it reasonable has recoil, good rate of fire, and all around well performance.

I do MT, PMT, PT, but not FT, PMT, or FanT. Too many blurred lines and people with overactive imaginations.

You might consider going with the vanilla AK-101, just because 5,56 hates short barrels.

I think i'm dying of laughter, though I can't tell if it's because it's a joke or if it's out of pity if he/she is serious..... That sight is made by an airsoft company...... and 5.56 NATO is no way a friend with short barrels.

Bosnian black tip SS109 will do well out of short barrels, especially is the powder in M855A1 spec. (second from left)

TBH i see no problem because within 35m or so i would guess it wouldn't matter but past that It wouldn't be a remotely good idea. For a dot sight look at Aimpoint i know a couple other regulars of this thread have them and love them.

UMP: Jamtastic! Along with very short range for a MMW unless your nation is heavily urbanized or Undergound caves
Flashlight: Good
Laser dot: Not as good but still good
Handel (handle): do you mean foregrip?
Sling: pretty much given but nice to remember it
Silencer: 2 things, 1: it's a suppressor not a silencer 2: a suppressor slows a round which with a SMg is going to make it's range even worse.
laser dot scope: Do you mean red dot? if so good for an SMG/ close in rifle work. Not as good at longer range as say a 3.4X or 4X optic which is better for general issue. Such as say the PK-A 3.4X, or Trijicon ACOG 4X, or if don't want electronics the M145 MGO 3.5X or the PSO-1 4X. Those are good for assault and battle rifles along with intermediate caliber SMG/PDW's

SHIT! my IVAN impression has failed..... Yeah Glock's are cheapish for what they are but not Hipoint cheap, though that is for a good reason. I assume you carry one trans? Being law enforcement and all that....
EDIT: the German Austrian thing....I was somewhat bending it for the sake of the joke, I know it's not the same as a being an active member. I mean that guilt by association why else would people call H&K things Nazi bricks of much cost? mainly MP7

Jesus fuck.

he AN-94 is a very cool rifle to a lot of you. Maybe because its the obscure future rifle shrouded in wonder, maybe its because it looks like the classic Kalashnikov had intercourse with a modern M16 or other black rifle. Maybe its just the whole want, but will never have thing. Well, here is what I thought of it.

It uses what is called a blowback shifted pulse (smeshchonnyy impuls svobodnovo zatvora) to fire two projectiles, in theory giving the operator the ability to punch through body armor as two rounds offer something of MRSI. The recoil is comparable to an AK-74 series of rifles.

The magazine and well are bent off to the side at about 10-15 degrees. This is used due to the odd feed mechanism.

Now that is all information available in various sights, but time for first hand stuff.

I noticed three things about the rifle immediately
1. It has a very light front end
2. It felt a bit flimsy compared to the AK-74 series
3. It fit me and my body very well.
I felt comfortable with it, but I had an issue with the slant of the magazine.
The rifle is much more complex than the standard Kalashnikov. A regular army would need some time to familiarize himself with it, more than an AK. The parts are all well tuned and built, but in your mind you worry of something can go wrong, or has, more than with the Kalashnikov. Maybe that's because it does not yet have the reputation however.

The rifles accuracy is beautiful, able to hit man sized targets with those two rounds in relative proximity to each other out to 300 meters with ease, far more accurate than the AK family. The sights are MUCH nicer. Its ability to accept a bayonet and grenade launcher is nice, but useless in some respects. It makes the weapon very front heavy when all this is done. The overall reliability of the weapon is not as well rounded as the AK-74 series of rifle due to all those moving parts. Overall its a nice, but overly complex, rifle. I would honestly take an AK-74M over the AN-94 for most situations due to me spending more time behind that rifle then I care to recall.

The AKE-971 is, in some respects, a much better rifle. the BARS system comes into its own in this rifle. Its not a bad rifle at all, its pretty accurate and preforms well enough. The issue is, however, that parts in the riffles infancy cracked and broke. This was fixed later on, but the rifle at times just didn't feel right. It is not as accurate as the AN-94, but it is a hell of a lot simpler.
Really there isnt much I can say on it, as there isnt anything besides the BARS that makes it stand out, that and it was able to keep all 30 rounds on target at 200m.

It seems with the AN-94, you will either hear the highest of praise or the harshest of criticism, all from people who have never had experience with it.
As such, I always appreciate your experience, Puz. It's very informative. :)
