What is the minimum legal age to:
Get a driver's license: In New Jeromia, you must be at least 15 years old to begin driver’s training. This consists of classes and tests for the first 6 months, then supervised driving with somebody already holding a license until you turn 16.
Vote in elections: Local elections can set their own requirements. For national elections the legal age is 17.
Get married: Religions reserve the right to perform symbolic marriage at any age. The national requirement is 20 years old, for transferring money, etc.
Join the military: Everyone must register for the New Jeromian Emergency Draft to be a legal citizen and receive most benefits from the nation. In times of emergency the military will enlist people as young as 15 years old, generally placing them in non-combative roles. This has never happened. To join the military yourself, you must complete a year of training, which can begin at 17 years old.
Age of consent: Age of consent was considered difficult to enforce and punish by the government. Education systems are in place in public schools to educate children about responsible sexual decisions, which only begins at age 12. However, unless you’re 18 you cannot consent to people older than 2 years above you. The oldest person if they’re over 18 will get punished in that case.
Buy/drink alcohol: Alcohol can be consumed at any age, under parental supervision, with harsh penalties if harm is done to the child. This law was made to give exemptions for religions.
Buy/use marijuana: Same as with alcohol.
Buy/use any other drugs: As long as the drugs are completely legal, it follows the same rule as before.
Be legally recognized as an adult under your nation's laws: 18 years old (to line up with college)
Become leader of your country: 20 years old (no person younger than 29 has been elected)
