It all depends, if the National film reviewers think its unsuitable, then it won't be shown. However, the Reviewers pay attention more to if it is a trash movie or not

We don't broadcast foreign media, but our citizens are free to seek it out from unofficial sources.

Western media, as a concept, as in in a more liberal, free press and media, is not censored in any fashion, but we are a bit old-fashioned still, our culture still resembling a mix of the 1940's urban noir, cowboy culture, and vaudeville, though with a touch of medieval feudalism and post-modern feminism, so while we don't censor it, there isn't a large market for it as of yet. Many foreign radio songs and movies seem a bit esoteric to many Fishy Applesians, and TV has only recently been distributed to every home in Fishy Apples with the help of The Onigiri Enclave thanks in part of citizens hoping to watch the 2019 Oatland Games, but as for other media, there isn't much of anything on, let alone western media, on TV right now given how new the technology is for us.

However, a form of broadband internet has strangely been around for a few years, recently put in place during the final years of the reign of Queen Smith III, under the guidance of the current queen Jackie IV, using a combination of modern broadband technology along with forms of telepathy, astral, and portal magic to harness our leylines to wirelessly connect everyone in Fishy Apples to the internet, which in the last decade has allowed unfiltered access for our citizenry to quote-unquote "western" culture.

In short, it is not we do not put filters or censors on such content, it is just that until recently we have simply lacked mass access outside of books or magical means, so it was a non-starter, as well as the fact that strange things that challenge us are at first often ignored (This may be in part to how our Second Dynasty ended).

Most western media outlets are banned from broadcasting within the SUSR due to their inability to factually report or remain impartial. However, some western media, such as NBC and BBC, are allowed to broadcast, but with restrictions.

We find that Western media creates too much dissent within our population, dividing our people further into which news source they learning from which are heavily biased and do not give the facts. Western Media is completely banned in favor of Imperial broadcasting.

No ancient Terran media, west or east, is banned in Nikopol. In fact the vast majority of works from before the colonisation of Asnea are not just free to possess but also free to use, redistribute, and do practically anything with but claim as your own work or manipulate others into believing it may be your own work even without stating so outright.

The Archive contained within the computers of the Arkships that crashed on the planet 3000 years ago is vast and filled with yottabytes of ancient media - a library so vast it is impossible to experience even a significant fraction of it in one lifetime - there is no point in even attempting to censor it. All that can be done is to slap on a big disclaimer in the face of those browsing the Archive that there's a reason all of humanity went from having an interstellar empire to being stuck in 4 stellar systems with no reliable way to communicate between them.

Western Media is mostly free in our nation but we do filter some of the over exaggerated fear mongering that can be in it and replace it with realistic, more rational reporting of the same news story

It's accessible but, while we're at it, we keep reminding the public that, like every kind of media, it has a political agenda behind it and it's funded by unfriendly interests.
National and local television also has a Der schwarze Kanal-like program that takes widely discussed pieces of Western newscasting and attempts to explain and contextualize what's the real point that's being discussed and how or why it is false and wrong and anti-Picentine.

The policy can essentially be summed up in "Let them watch it, and then tell them what they saw".

Okay, backstory behind, we do have media but it's somewhat filtered by civilian agencies and the government after a few unfortunate incidents.

This largely describes the Ascendancy's stance also. Albeit with the added point of "'freedom of speech' is not 'freedom to deceive'", which places heavy requirements on anything purporting to be a news or documentary show.

However, the watching/reading of even those media outlets/publications that are accepted is not particularly widespread due to restrictions on advertising limiting both their ability to attract customers and the resulting ad revenue that such entities tend to really on.

Some works of fiction are purchased by state-run, or smaller non-profit independent, outlets and broadcast/distributed more widely, to supplement the Ascendancy's own media (Ascendants love a good story, regardless of who wrote it; particularly science fiction, as fuel for the imagination and encouragement for future generations of scientists). Foreign news (and the Ascendancy's own news for that matter, they hold themselves to the same standard) tends to come with obligatory fact checked commentary and rational analysis alongside it.

Only Castelonian new sources are allowed in the Kingdom, and the state-run news channel is *obviously* the most powerful, however, since 2013 restrictions have been loosened quite a bit

Western media is only available in Foreign Quarters. Wochaysteiners do not bother with foreign media.
