Mizuyuki (Mikazukian: 瑞雪 , Tinchalian: 瑞雪, Mizuyuki; formally 瑞雪国 Mizuyuki-koku, Ruìxuěguó, alternatively the Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki) is an amalgamation of eleven separate local regional governments into one discrete entity, commonly referred to as The Technocracy of Mizuyuki or simply The Auroral Union.

Part of the Auroran Co-Prosperity Sphere along with founding partners Three Norrlands, Glendan, Priamur and Corrance, Mizuyuki is regarded one of a select group of nations with the highest human development in the known world, scoring 0.902 on the Human Development Index (HDI) in 2013. The nation also plays host to several multinational corporations with a global presence, most notably the government run Sakura Japanese Cuisine, Paladin Cinemas of New Edom and Arcadia Initiative.

Stretching over 225,000 km2 in total land area, Mizuyuki is among the smaller nations in the Shirayuki area. However, it is the most densely populated nation in the region, with an average population density of 438 people per square kilometre. Mizuyuki practises a form of government that is essentially a democratic technocracy combined with a unitary bicameral parliamentary system operating under a constitutional monarchy - a unique governmental system that has allowed the country to flourish and prosper years after its inception.

Even though Mizuyuki is officially recognised as a distinct sovereign entity, it is practically similar to a form of regional coalition among the twenty prefectures(県), which are further subdivided into seventy nine districts(郡). As such, the prefectures are usually given a high degree of autonomy in performing their administrative functions; the federal government will only intervene in prefectural administration if the need arises. Mizuyuki is currently under the de jure reign of Her Imperial Majesty Shirakawa Kirino, while the incumbent Premier, Sentinel Nikaido Mikoto, acts as the official advisor to the Empress as well as functioning as the head of government.

Etymology

The English word Mizuyuki is derived from the transliteration (romanisation) of the Mikazukian words blessed and snow. The official style The Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki, The Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki or simply The Auroral Union is used for most official purposes, including official announcements, government press releases and international sporting events.

Before the combination of the twenty prefectures into one union, the landmass upon which Mizuyuki is located was known to the natives as the Shirakawa Ryōiki (白川領域)after the Shirakawa clan, who were the traditional clan leaders ruling over the area. Following the end of the First War of Unification, the land, under the control of the Shirakawas once again, was renamed Sakuramachi (桜町), town of cherry blossoms, a reference to one of the Four Treasures of Shirakawa, the cherry blossoms that were widespread throughout the land.

After the informal formation of a alliance among a group of local kingdoms and governments, the full title of Mizuyuki was Mizuyuki Danketsu Renmei(瑞雪団結連盟), which carries the meaning "Mizuyuki Unity Alliance". The subsequent formalisation of the alliance was recorded in the 1287 Treaty of Matsunaga, which is the earliest surviving historical document in which the name Mizuyuki can be found.

The people of Mizuyuki refer to themselves as Mizuyuki-jin(瑞雪人). The name Mizuyuki literally means "blessed snow", and this nomenclature is believed to have come into general use in the early 14th century after the famed Mizuyuki-jin poet Miyanaga Yukino wrote a series of literary works that made heavy use of the term as a reference to the climate of the nation. It was also among the best works of that were produced by the Mizuyuki-jin during that era, and thus it helped to propel Mizuyuki to prominence in its region. Prior to that, Mizuyuki had been referred to as Kaze no Kuni, Kazehaya and Yukikawa by neighbouring countries. The latter two were later adopted for official Mizuyuki use; two of the local governments were renamed as such by the federal government in a restructuring of the country's administrative divisions.

In modern times, Mizuyuki is colloquially known as the Land of Blessed Snow, a nomenclature derived from the word Mizuyuki as well as in keeping with the sweeping blizzards and liberal snowfall that are a common sight in the country during winter months. However, there is no concrete evidence to account for the origin of the term, and as such, it is not widely used by the people of the nation.

A Mizuyuki prefecture is under the jurisdiction of a prefectural legislature that is, by convention, elected simultaneously with the federal government. These prefectures are in turn subdivided into several districts; all of the districts are mandated by the 1874 Mizuyuki Constitution to have a "democratically elected representative" as the district's member of the prefectural legislature.

Government and politics

Main articles : Government of Mizuyuki, Politics of Mizuyuki
Additional information : Incumbent administration of Mizuyuki, 2013 Mizuyuki General Elections

Overview

Mizuyuki is functionally a constitutional monarchy where the reigning monarch serves as a ceremonial figurehead of state. The role of the monarch is defined constitutionally as "the symbol of the sovereignty of the nation and the people's unity". The Premier and the elected members of the National Diet are considered to be vested with power by the populace; they are the legislators who are the de facto leaders of Mizuyuki. Her Imperial Highness Shirakawa Kirino is the current monarch; her daughter, Shirakawa Suzuno, the Crown Princess, is the heiress apparent to the Throne of the Auroral Horizon. The head of government is the incumbent Premier, Reizei Mikoto.

National ideologies

The Auroral Union holds the spirit of democracy in esteem; Mizuyuki advocates the freedom of speech and expression as well as their citizens' right to vote sacrosanct.

In terms of ideologies, the nation as a whole embraces technocratic principles. The Mizuyuki administration are ultimately committed to ensuring that the person(s) who is deemed the most suitable of holding any position is elevated to such, in order to guarantee that the Auroral Union as well as its peoples are the beneficiaries. In practical terms, the nation holds elections in which all citizens over the age of 17 are eligible to vote in - the people are called upon to vote not for slick orators, but for politicians who work gamely behind the scenes to provide a better future for the nation and for the people.

However, the Auroral Union takes the principle of technocracy to a higher level; instead of merely embracing the foundations of meritocracy, as most professed technocracies do, the nation prioritises the advancement of science and technology beyond anything else, even the general safety and well-being of the populace. The Auroral Union is believed to be unique among the multitude of countries globally in that it maintains a Bureau of Research that commands two positions in the nation's Cabinet - the Ministry of Natural Sciences and the Ministry of Social Sciences. It is thus far the only known nation to place such a premium on the sciences that it has gone on to establish ministries with the sole purpose of catering to the sciences. As a result, the nation's fiscal budget leans heavily towards the funding of research - an estimated 52 billion aurorae is projected to be directed to the two ministries for the fiscal year of 2014 in the budget that was announced by Reizei Mikoto in September 2013.

Although the Auroral Union is widely depicted as a technocratic nation that incorporates elements of democratic socialism in the country both from an economic and sociopolitical standpoint, it is in fact not an extreme example of the nations who do practice such an ideology. The administration of the Auroral Union instead works to ensure that the people are adequately cared for through a series of government programs known as the Arcadia Initiative - which provides citizens of Mizuyuki with a vast variety of benefits through welfare programs and initiatives to minimise the financial burden on the populace.

Legislative organs

Mizuyuki's legislative organ is the Mizuyuki National Diet, which is a unitary bicameral parliament. The Diet consists of two Houses, collectively known as the Dual Houses of the Diet; the House of the Rising Sun (435 seats) which serves as the Upper House of the Diet, and the House of the Crescent Moon (900 seats), which is the corresponding Lower House. Both houses consist of members elected by popular vote during the general elections; once every five years for members of the House of the Rising Sun, and once every four years for the House of the Crescent Moon.

Although the Constitution does not explicitly define a limit to the term of office for an elected representative, the 1898 Voting Rights Act, promulgated by the famed Mizuyuki-jin politician Takeshima Shigeru, enforces such a limit; elected representatives of the House of the Rising Sun may only serve a term lasting no longer than five years, at the end of which the seat is vacated. They can then proceed to seek a re-election; there is no limit to the terms a representative may serve for. On the other hand, the members of the lesser House of the Crescent Moon may only take office for a maximum period of four years.

In the event of an elected representative automatically vacating his seat due to any reason, the seat is automatically declared vacant by the Judiciary of Mizuyuki and officially recognised as such by the incumbent Premier as well as the reigning monarch. Members of the House of the Crescent Moon similarly are not limited in the number of terms they may serve for; thus it is generally common to see a single popular representative enduringly serving his constituency for decades.

The Dual Houses are separate and discrete in terms of their responsibilities. The representatives of the House of the Rising Sun are conventionally tasked with dictating national policy through the issuance of the Order of the Rising Sun (not to be confused with the Sovereign Order of the Rising Sun - a title that is conferred to illustrious individuals and/or organisations by the ruling monarch of Mizuyuki), which compels the nation as a whole to comply with its directives.

On the other side of the spectrum, the House of the Crescent Moon is mainly responsible for the drafting and enactment of the laws that govern Mizuyuki, commonly known as the Judgement Laws or the Judgement Regulations. These laws or regulations encompass almost all aspects of Mizuyuki - the citizens of the nation are bound by their loyalty to the monarch and their patriotism to the Auroral Union to adhere to these regulations.
Image

MFP (17), NLP (22), UPP (17), NEF (20), MSF (117), ASU (75), KAM (171), MUA (31), DPM (24)

However, this division of the Dual Houses can sometimes lead to a clash in terms of the nation's policy directives and its laws and regulations. When a single party or coalition is unable to assume a majority in both of the Houses, this may lead to disagreement over Mizuyuki's legislative and executive branches - especially prevalent when two parties or coalitions with contrasting ideologies and viewpoints each come to power in one of the Dual Houses. Although the House of the Rising Sun is generally seen as having overall control of the National Diet, this is only the case if there is not a single party or coalition holding a two-thirds majority of seats in the House of the Crescent Moon, since the House of the Crescent Moon can elect to not abide by the directives of the House of the Rising Sun in the event of a referendum culminating in two-thirds support for the carriage of the motion of rejection.

The most notable recent example was in 2001, when the People's Coalition managed to cling on to a simple majority in the House of the Rising Sun, but comprehensively lost in their bid to gain at least a simple majority in the lower House of the Crescent Moon; the Mizunaga Socialist Front was able to achieve unprecedented gains in the House and gain control over it with a razor thin simple majority of 472 seats.

The Mizunaga Socialist Front then entered into talks with Midori no Kaze, Mizuyuki's version of the Green Party, to form a working agreement in the House of the Crescent Moon. The resulting National Socialist Coalition was able to control 603 seats in the House; thus enabling them to reject any motion or directive issued by the People's Coalition.

What followed was a period of national stagnation and instability - the Dual Houses were unable to agree on national policy as well as the laws that would be required to fully enforce such policies as were contrived by the People's Coalition majority House of the Rising Sun. The two parties eventually settled down to round table talks that were successful in tiding the nation over until the next general election in 2005, where the People's Coalition once again regained control over the Dual Houses with a simple majority of seats in both.

Monarch of Mizuyuki

Additional information : The Imperial House of Mizuyuki, Shirakawa Kirino

The Emperor of Mizuyuki (水雪天皇 Mizuyuki Tennō, lit. the Heavenly Sovereign of Mizuyuki) is a ceremonial monarch that serves as a figurehead of state in the Auroral Union's governmental system of constitutional monarchy, and is typically viewed as the foremost symbol of the people of Mizuyuki and the sovereignty of the nation. Constitutionally, the monarch of Mizuyuki is defined as the "symbol of the State and the unity of the diverse peoples of the nation".

The Imperial House of Mizuyuki, sometimes referred to as the Royal Family of Mizuyuki, is one of the oldest surviving monarchies that still exist today; several historians have traced the imperial line's roots as far back as 503 BC, when the Imperial Household was formed through the union between the first Emperor of Mizuyuki, Mikagami-no-Yoshikage, who was thought to have been of divine ancestry, and his partner, Ashimoto-no-Masuzu. Many contemporary historians take the year 503 BC as the official foundation of the Auroral Union's predecessor, the Empire of Mikagami.

Image

The role of the monarch of Mizuyuki has traditionally been confined to merely serving as a figurehead; since the days of the Empire of Mikagami, the first known incarnation of the Auroral Union, the Emperor has been the nominal ruler of the land. Due to the intense power struggles among the powerful clans and tribes that threatened to rend the nation apart, the Emperor of Mizuyuki usually was unable to impose his mandate upon the warring lords; instead, the daimyo warred in order to place the Imperial Household under their control in order to legitimise their annexation of territory within Mizuyuki as well as their endless wars against their enemies.

Traditionally, the ruling monarch is conferred the titles of the Protector of the Peoples, Ruler of the Five Seas and Lord of the Seven Continents, and the Order of the Auroral Chrysanthemum upon their ascendancy to the Throne of the Auroral Horizon. He is also designated the Son of Heaven, the emissary of the Dual Gods Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi by the High Priest of Kiseki Shinto, and as such serves as the highest authority on Kiseki Shinto in the land upon the official start of his reign as the monarch of Mizuyuki. He is widely seen as the messenger or prophet of the Dual Gods that has been assigned to the mortal plane to keep watch over the denizens of the world.

The Emperor of Mizuyuki is constitutionally mandated to protect the people from coming to any harm as well as only acting with the nation's best interests at heart in all matters of state.

The Throne of the Auroral Horizon is currently held by Her Imperial Majesty Shirakawa Kirino, and the heiress apparent to the throne is her daughter, the Princess of Mizunaga Shirakawa Suzuno.

As is common in most constitutional monarchies, the Emperor of Mizuyuki does not have any executive responsibilities; the Premier is the de facto ruler of the nation of Mizuyuki. However, as detailed in Mizuyuki's Constitution, the Emperor is bound by his honour to carry out a number of ceremonial duties with the advice and approval of the Cabinet, including but not limited to promulgation of items such as constitutional amendments, regulations, cabinet directives and treaties; the dissolution of the National Diet and subsequent proclamation of an election in order for a general election to take place, convocation of a newly inaugurated Diet during its first official session, the performance of ceremonial functions such as the reception of foreign diplomats and dignitaries and the award of national honours and titles; the attestation of instruments of ratification and other valid diplomatic documents as provided for by law and the attestation of the powers of the elected members of the Diet and the Ministers of State of the administration.

The ceremonies that are defined in the Constitution are to be carried out by the Emperor posthaste, for the aforementioned functions that requires the Emperor's presence is seen as of great importance to the entirety of the nation; as such, the Emperor is bound to perform his duties as the monarch in order to fulfill his duty to the people and to the nation as a whole. These ceremonies include the opening of the sessions of the Diet, which is conventionally scheduled within the first 60 days of the conclusion of a nationwide general election, and also the Speech to the People, a special function that is held every Lunar New Year in order for the Emperor to form some semblance of communication with his people.

In the olden days of the Auroral Union, the monarch of Mizuyuki was patrilineal; that is, the throne could only be passed down to a male heir of the Imperial Household. However, a series of sweeping changes instituted by Emperor Shirakawa Yoshikazu during the late 16th century through the Uryuu reforms introduced the concept of gender equality among the people of the nation. Despite the imperial mandate, the Imperial Household itself was loath to accept a female member's ascension to the throne; it was not until the Shirakawa clan's defeat in a long, drawn-out war against internal rebellions that culminated in a female ruler, Shirakawa Hanako, being installed as the Empress of Mizuyuki in 1745.

Premier of Mizuyuki

Additional information : Constitution of Mizuyuki, People's Coalition, Reizei Mikoto

Image
The current Premier of Mizuyuki, Reizei Mikoto, in official uniform

The Premier of Mizuyuki (内閣総理大臣 Naikaku-sōri-daijin, lit. Minister for the Comprehensive Administration of the Cabinet) is the head of government of the Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki. He is appointed to office after receiving the blessing of the ruling monarch of the Auroral Union, and is widely held to be the second symbol of the nation's sovereignty after the monarch, both domestically and internationally.

He is the head of the National Diet of Mizuyuki as well as his Cabinet, and has the power to appoint and dismiss the Ministers of State (Ministers of the Cabinet) as he sees fit. The responsiblity that comes with the office of Premier of Mizuyuki is constitutionally defined as "making all efforts to protect the sovereignty of the nation of Mizuyuki, safeguarding the common interests of the people of Mizuyuki, defending the Imperial Household, and presiding over the administration of the country in order to ensure that Mizuyuki is peaceful, harmonious and prosperous for all eternity."

The office of Premier was created in 1874, along with the Constitution of Mizuyuki, by the 150-man Committee, a body comprising 150 Mizuyuki-jin dukes, lords, barons, marquesses, viscounts and princes that were committed to evolving the nation through the adoption of modern policies and rapid industrialisation.

The current Premier of Mizuyuki is Reizei Mikoto(冷泉 美琴)of the KAM (Kagayaku Mirai Party), who assumed office on the 21st of April 2013 following the People's Coalition's landslide victory in the 2013 Mizuyuki general elections.

The Premier, as an elected representative serving in the National Diet, shares a unique position with his Ministers of State; they are required to preside over the sittings of the Dual Houses as the representatives of the Cabinet. This responsibility is viewed as nothing less than a formal tradition that must be carried out by all Premiers and their Cabinet members; according to the illustrious Mizuyuki historian Funabashi Sakue, this move was originally intended by the Emperor of Mizuyuki to smoothen the administrative process at the legislative level.

Cabinet of Mizuyuki

From Yukipedia, the free encyclopaedia

The Cabinet of Mizuyuki (水雪国の内閣 Mizuyuki-koku no Naikaku), is the executive branch of the administration of the Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki. The members of the Cabinet comprise the Premier, the Prime Minister, the President and their respective deputies, as well as the other Ministers that the Premier sees fit to appoint. They are technically appointed by the Emperor of Mizuyuki, although the Cabinet is actually designated by the Head of the Diet, the Premier. The Premier has authority over the Cabinet, and he shares control of the body together with the President and the Prime Minister of Mizuyuki. However, the Premier remains the de facto head of government; he has the power to override the President and the Prime Minister if he deems it necessary.

The Cabinet is collectively responsible to the National Diet, the people, and the Emperor; although the latter cannot interfere directly in the workings of the Cabinet, the members of the Cabinet are compelled to vacate their positions if a motion of no confidence is passed against them in the National Diet's Dual Houses, or if a national referendum finds that more than two-thirds of the nation's population deem their performance as unsatisfactory.

The current concept of the Mizuyuki-jin Cabinet was adopted in the year 1874 during the Mizunaga Reforms - in which the 150-man Committee was appointed to selectively introduce modernisation to the nation as a whole through the adoption of modern policies, laws, and a national constitution. It is the successor to the Imperial Council, which was the official advisory body to the Emperor of Mizuyuki since 1290.

Foreign relations of Mizuyuki

From Yukipedia, the free encyclopaedia

Mizuyuki-jin foreign affairs are handled primarily by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mizuyuki and presided over by the incumbent Minister of Foreign Affairs, currently Itsuka Ayase of the Kirameku Mirai Party (KAM).

Since the sakoku policy was instituted in the autumn of 1589 by the royal decree of monarch Uesugi Motonari, Mizuyuki has largely practised isolationism on the international stage - there was no major contact with the outside world save for diplomatic missives between the leaders of the era and the ruling monarch of Mizuyuki. However, the second major round of reforms that were instituted by the 150-man Committee, the Mizunaga reforms, encouraged the rapid modernisation of the nation, and as a consequence, Mizuyuki opened up its borders to its fellow nations in the year of 1875, a year after the first drafts of the Mizunaga Modernisation and Reform Policies, also known as the Uryuu Reforms, were ratified by the National Diet.

Mizuyuki currently maintains formal diplomatic relations with almost every nation in Aurora, which has led to the country's rapid emergence as a diplomatic power in the region. In recent years, the administration of the nation has expressed its desire for Mizuyuki to be a major hub for the development and research in the fields of science, and eventually to transform Mizuyuki into the premier diplomatic powerbroker in Aurora.

Senjōgahara Prefecture

From Yukipedia, the free encyclopaedia

Senjōgahara Prefecture (Mikazukian : 戦場ヶ原県, Tinchalian : 战场原县, English : Senjōgahara-ken, Zhànchǎngyuán-xiàn) is one of the twenty prefectures of the Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki. Located in the far northeast of the country's de facto territory, Senjōgahara shares a long land border with the Republic of Aurinsula, and it composes the most militarised portion of the national borders of Mizuyuki.

Etymology

The name Senjōgahara is literally derived from the Mikazukian words for plains of the battlefield. This is mainly due to the long history of conflicts between the clans and tribes of Mizuyuki with their Aurinsulan counterparts during the long years of the Sakurai Jidai. Led by the warlord Sakurai Mitsuhide, the Mizuyuki-jin tribes, united under one banner, would wage small-scale wars of reconquest against the native Aurinsulans on what they perceived to be the rightful, sovereign territory of the Imperial House of Shirakawa. These skirmishes erupted on an average of once every decade, and it was said that the plains of the land that is now Senjōgahara was stained by the blood of the clashing warriors.

The name also has a close link to the local economy; due to the relative frequency of conflicts in the vicinity, Senjōgahara emerged as one of the most prolific producers of weaponry and ammunition during the late 14th century, eventually producing over 40% of Mizuyuki's gunpowder in 1652.

Today, the prefecture's name still retains a tenuous connection to its past; the major operations of the Trinity's ammunition branches are based in the prefecture. Although there has been no conflict in Senjōgahara for almost a century since Akagawa Kokan's abortive attempt to overthrow the ruling house in the Kashima Rebellions, the name of the prefecture is generally associated with warfare and bloodshed in the Mizuyuki-jin psyche.

History

Geography and political divisions

The landscape in Senjōgahara is mostly mountainous, especially in the western districts of Fujimine and Akasaka. With its tallest peak weighing in at a hefty 3792 metres above sea level, the Fujimine Range contains some of the highest mountains in the country. However, the Fujimine Range levels out 70 kilometres away from the Mizuyuki-Aurinsulan border; as such, the arable land that exists in the narrow strip of Mizuyuki-jin territory, known as the Haruka Isthmus, plays host to the prefectural capital, Kanata Haruka.

Fujimine

Fujimine (Mikazukian : 藤峰, Tinchalian : 藤峰), commonly known as the Celestial Peak District amongst locals, is a moderately-sized district under the jurisdiction of Senjōgahara Prefecture. Home to a range of barren mountains that are unfit for agricultural cultivation, Fujimine bases its local economy on mining.

Early life and education

Knightsbridge was born on December 1, 1991, in the city of Celestia, Kazehaya, to parents Christian Knightsbridge, a naturalised Mizuyuki citizen with Albion ancestry, and Anzu Morishima-Knightsbridge, a Mizuyuki-jin native. The eldest of three siblings, Knightsbridge spent her formative years in Celestia, the city for which she was named, where she attended Igarashi State High School (Igarashi Kenritsu Kōkō, 五十嵐県立高校) and graduated with distinctions in all subjects.

The teenaged Knightsbridge then opted to enroll in the Auroral Horizon Imperial Military Academy, which is widely acknowledged as the premier military academy in the nation - in Aurora Novus, Kiryuuin, having been offered a lucrative scholarship by the Ministry of Education's scholars department immediately following her outstanding performance in her alma mater's mental aptitude evaluation programme. passing the assessment with a high distinction. The precise results remain undisclosed, although Knightsbridge has said that she was secure in the knowledge that she answered all the posed questions correctly at the time.

Knightsbridge eventually graduated from the Auroral Horizon Imperial Military Academy with a first-class Bachelor of Science degree in Military Management and Program Acquisition, two years ahead of schedule due to her consistently brilliant academic performance, and proceeded to further her studies at one of Mizuyuki's most prestigious educational institutions, the University of Kirayuki, where she again obtained a full scholarship to read Military Studies for a course lasting four years. When undertaking a practical course at the National Bureau of Strategy, Knightsbridge caught the eye of the Commander of the Auroral Horizon Air Self-Defence Force, Tachibana Kaede, with a precise, in-depth analysis of battleground scenarios. Tachibana swiftly became an admirer of the young, yet quietly assertive scholar, and under her auspices Knightsbridge was eventually offered a position as a junior strategic analyst, with the rank of 1st Lieutenant, in the Air Self-Defence Force after completing her studies at the University of Kirayuki.

Family

Knightsbridge's nuclear family consists of her parents, Christian Knightsbridge and Anzu Morishima-Knightsbridge, as well as her two siblings, Nova Knightsbridge and Luna Knightsbridge. She does not have any extended family of note at the time of writing. Knightsbridge is known to be deeply attached to her immediate family, and has been quoted on one occasion saying that she "will give anything to protect my family".

Career history

Initial rise within the AHASDF

Recruited into the AHASDF as a junior strategic analyst, Knightsbridge's rise within the organisation has been described by Tachibana as 'meteoric'. From her humble position in the force, Knightsbridge put in solid work shifts, although her generally spotless copybook was blotted by her propensity to lose focus on tasks she perceived to be mundane, instead investing her energies into methods of amusing and intellectually stimulating herself, such as visualising battlefield scenarios and examining various military stratagems.

Knightsbridge's initial conventional, unspectacular work went unnoticed by the authorities, mainly due to her now legendary unresponsiveness to social stimulation as well as her unwillingness to resort to flattery in order to elevate her position in the organisation.

It was not until November 2012 that Knightsbridge's analytical talents shone through the 'mind-numbing' monotony
Image
Knightsbridge, pictured here immediately
after her disagreement with Saegusa
of her drudgery at AHASDF and aided the rise of her star within the force. While attending a special tactical instruction course delivered by Commander of the AHLSDF, Saegusa Mashiro, Knightsbridge noticed a minuscule flaw in the commander's simulated tactical set-up that would have led to the friendly forces being routed if left unaddressed. Instead of meeting Saegusa in private to point out the admittedly unapparent imperfection, Knightsbridge rose and publicly attacked the Ministry of War and Defence for appointing such a 'incompetent imbecile' as a Commander in the Self-Defence Forces.

Provoked by Knightsbridge's sudden, and seemingly ungrounded accusations against her, Saegusa verbally retaliated, and dismissed Knightsbridge as an inexperienced recruit who had the temerity to challenge established authority simply to gain attention. Knightsbridge was understandably irked at Saegusa's proclamation and stormed out of the conference room despite pleas from her fellow officers to avoid further inflaming the already tense situation.

An enraged Saegusa contacted her colleague Tachibana to complain about Knightsbridge's discipline and the perceived lack of respect for authority. Tachibana was not entirely convinced that Knightsbridge would make the inflammatory statements cited by Saegusa without valid reason and determined to investigate the affair further by directly questioning Knightsbridge herself, who revealed the cause of her publicly revealed disdain for Saegusa to her trusted superior. Tachibana, who was already aware of Knightsbridge's critical analytical mind and her propensity to spot minute tactical flaws with relative ease, requisitioned the data logs of Saegusa's simulation at the earliest possible convenience from the Technical Department of the National Strategic Bureau.

A select Strategic Committee of the National Strategic Bureau was tasked with the job of confirming Knightsbridge's allegation. Upon detailed examination of the tactical plan, NSB senior analyst Hiba Shigeru uncovered the said flaw - a minor chink in Saegusa's otherwise perfectly aligned formation that was caused by an irregularity in the terrain. He discovered that the mistake would indeed lead to a crushing defeat of Saegusa's troops in the simulation if the enemy were to spot and exploit it through mounting an offensive on the flank in question with a battalion of shock troops supported by a second armoured vehicle division. The committee's findings were duly reported to both Saegusa and Tachibana - the former was forced to admit her failure in crafting her battle plan, while the latter's trust in her subordinate was justified to some extent.

Tachibana, who was suitably impressed by Knightsbridge's razor-sharp analysis of Saegusa's simulation and her spot-on identification of the aforementioned flaw, then proceeded to promote her to the position of junior strategist, with a corresponding promotion in terms of rank to captain, while Saegusa issued a public apology to Knightsbridge over the affair, which had become known as Knightsbridgegate.

Appointment as military advisor to the diet and subsequent promotion

With her fame growing after her stand-off with Saegusa, general opinion of Knightsbridge rose considerably after her perceived victory over Saegusa. In the aftermath, Knightsbridge's prominence skyrocketed - and this eventually led to the National Diet hearing about her considerable analytical talent.

House of the Rising Sun representative for District RYK0001, Matsunaga - Saten Ruiko, was at the time chairing a Diet committee tasked with the responsiblity of overseeing a proposed modernisation of the armed forces, which was deemed antiquated by the House of the Rising Sun. Saten had, for some time, been racking her brains for a way to implement the modernisation within her given time frame of a year. Despite consulting the Minister of War and Defence Kamimori Wakana and
Image

a recess of the Force Modernisation Committee
subsequently receiving a detailed memorandum from the Minister's desk outlining the equipment that were in need of replacement and a comprehensive list of modern equipment that were required to replace existing, outdated equipment, Saten felt that she had to execute her responsibility to the best of her ability by ensuring that the funds allocated would be properly dispensed - and for that, she enlisted the services of Knightsbridge.

Knightsbridge, entrusted with a job she deemed worthy of her interest, set about the task with uncharacteristic gusto - a sharp contrast with the laid back personality and general apathy that she had exhibited during the past six months of her enlistment within the AHASDF. Appointed senior military advisor to the Force Modernisation Committee within days of indicating her willingness to accept the advisory position, Knightsbridge set about personally scrutinising divisions within the armed forces that she felt were in need of modernisation. With the aid of a select few of her contemporaries whom Saten had invited to advise the Committee, Knightsbridge was able to present to the Committee a complete report that served to summarise the shortcomings that the armed forces faced in terms of impedimenta - a severe shortage of advanced aircraft that limited Mizuyuki's force projection capabilities and a lack of adequate munitions for the artillery regiments.

Saten, satisfied with Knightsbridge's preliminary report, went on to request that she outline a reasonable proposal in order to achieve the Committee's aims - completing the modernisation of the force in the designated span of a year. Again, Knightsbridge was only too happy to do so - a report found itself on Saten's desk within the week. Pleased and encouraged by Knightsbridge's eagerness and efficiency, Saten lost no time in submitting Knightsbridge's proposal for the consideration of the House of the Rising Sun. The proposal was met with great enthusiasm by representatives of the House, and Knightsbridge received the go-ahead to purchase military equipment as needed on behalf of the Nikaido administration.

Knightsbridge duly obliged - joining forces with the Purchasing Department of the Ministry of Defence, she oversaw the scrapping or disposal of antiquated equipment in the force throughout a period of three months, while simultaneously preparing an exhaustive purchase list that included the more advanced equipment currently available on the market. In a matter of six months, Knightsbridge had presided over the disposal of over MZ¥ 2.4 billion of equipment, while purchasing an estimated MZ¥ 5.85 billion worth of modern equipment.

Highly pleased by the efficiency Knightsbridge exhibited in her modernisation efforts, Premier Nikaido Mikoto decided to award Knightsbridge the Yuōji Akira Merit Medal, an honour accorded to military officers of outstanding ability on the basis of their contributions to the nation, in recognition of her services to Mizuyuki. Tachibana, by now enamoured with her subordinate, pressed her superiors for Knightsbridge's promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General as her personal military strategist, and Knightsbridge was accordingly given the promotion.

Personality

Overview

Knightsbridge has a cold and aloof personality that precludes her from forming lasting relationships. She tends to make decisions based on empirical evidence and hard fact, without bothering to consider other factors she thinks of as trivial, namely human emotion and personal relationships. This deficiency is the sole reason why Knightsbridge failed to be promoted to the rank of General, as she is presumed incapable of rallying personnel and motivating them due to this failing. Otherwise, Knightsbridge is an excellent all-round commander in terms of military strategy – her outstanding ability to identify and analyse various factors on the battlefield allows her to make split-second decisions which she is then able to act decisively. She has a cool head, and never fails to maintain her composure even under the most pressurised situations.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality evaluation classifies Knightsbridge as an individual of type INTJ (introversion, intuition, thinking, judgment), one of the rarest among the sixteen personality types, with a frequency between 3% to 7% among Mizuyuki's population.

Knightsbridge's MBTI assessment cannot be said to be wholly accurate; neither is it consistent - a conclusion derived from separate, independent tests and observation. There also exists a lack of test-retest reliability in Knightsbridge's case, with a subsequent MBTI assessment classifying her as an ENTJ, despite her not having shown any evident signs of the E element, extroversion.

However, Knightsbridge's INTJ classification is generally consistent with her personality, as there is a paucity of extreme data values that might suggest otherwise. A full analysis of Knightsbridge's personality according to the MBTI can be found below.

Introversion

Generally defined as the state of being concerned primarily with one's own thoughts and feelings rather than with the external environment, the element of introversion is highly developed in Knightsbridge's personality. Knightsbridge is seldom inclined to indulge in social interaction, and prefers to keep to herself. Although her expenditure of energy is not immediately evident in social occasions, nor is it particularly relevant in a military context, Knightsbridge has admitted in the past that "for me, social functions do nothing but evince boredom".

Intuition

Knightsbridge is not a perfect fit for the N element, intuition, purely because she does not fall either in the N or S categories. She is not a person who overlooks details, nor is she open to the idea of abandoning advance planning simply to focus on imminent reality. As one psychologist has described her, Knightsbridge is an individual who "does not fit perfectly the N or S elements - her perfectionism and desire to control ... leads her to possess one of the most intriguing personalities I have seen". Despite the muddled categorisation, there remains no doubt Knightsbridge has an acute mind that is more than capable of executing analytical tasks to perfection.

Thinking

A classical element T is present in Knightsbridge's personality, for she values objective cognition as an aid in decision-making - an honour which she does not accord to personal preferences, sentiments/emotions, which she disregards as irrational and illogical; in other words, unreliable material upon which to base her thought and analytical processes. Knightsbridge has an overarching tendency to give entirely too little weight to element F, which is in part a contributor to her ultimate inability to apply man-management and motivational techniques to her troops when necessary, and thus necessitates a second in command to take over the role in question.

Judgement

The individual derives a sense of pleasure from being in control, whether it be in a game of poker or on the battlefield. Knightsbridge likes to assume control over whatever situation she finds herself in - and eventually assert her authority through the assumption of said control. She tends to be obsessed with planning and perfection, often going through battle plans with a fine-toothed comb until she is satisfied that no errors exist within. Knightsbridge also maintains an inclination to pander towards the predictable - yet another classic trait of individuals with element J, it manifests itself in Knightsbridge's liking of controlled situations and a set of pre-planned circumstances that will inevitably result in a desired outcome.

This name uses Mikazukian naming customs. The family name, Ishikawa, comes first and the given name, Haruka, comes last.

Ishikawa Haruka (Mikazukian: 石川 遥 , Tinchalian: 石川 遥; born September 28, 1989) is a Mizuyukian football manager and former professional football player. She is also the current manager of Felix, having taken up the post following the sacking of interim coach Manuel Alessandri by the Felixian FA. She is the first ever female manager to take up the reins at Felix, and simultaneously the first foreigner to do so.

Ishikawa started her footballing career as a youth prospect in the Ifrit Spirit League, the third tier of Mizuyuki's domestic leagues, at Akabane Rangers. Following a moderately successful spell in which she was granted intermittent runs in the first team due to injury crises rocking the club, Ishikawa made the leap to the prestigious Miria Aurora Division for 27 million aurorae, where she joined Mikan Wave, perennial challengers for the domestic title. A string of fine performances at reserve level earned Ishikawa a chance to impress at the top level, where she shone brightly with an impressive return of 7 goals in 18 matches in her maiden season with Mikan, 2006-2007. Her form subsequently earned her a call-up to the national team, where she would go on to amass 75 caps and 24 goals in a national career spanning seven years.

Under the tutelage of influential Mikan coach Chikanatsu Izo, Ishikawa, playing in her favoured advanced playmaker role, flourished and subsequently emerged as one of Mizuyuki's leading talents. At the height of her powers, Ishikawa was described as 'one of the best creative midfielders of her generation' and 'the complete midfielder ... possessing a wide repertoire of offensive skills complemented with defensive graft'. During her time at Mikan, Ishikawa established herself as a key player, helping the club to consecutive Miria Aurora titles in 2007 - 08 and 2008 - 09, and lifting the Imperial Cup once. She was instrumental in the club's record-breaking 2008 - 09 campaign, when her 11 goals and 27 assists propelled Mikan to a first ever domestic double. Ishikawa is the current holder of the Miria Aurora Division's assists record with her tally of 72 assists in 134 Miria league appearances. She is also Mikan's assists leader, clocking in at a total of 77 assists in 151 games.

Ishikawa is widely regarded as one of the best football managers the nation has ever produced, leading an unheralded Mizuyuki team to a respectable mid-table finish in their first ever World Cup qualifying attempt while also securing a comfortable position in the Casaran Baptism of Fire 52, narrowly missing out on progression to the second stage. Following her maiden World Cup campaign, Ishikawa took a six-month sabbatical from her position and was replaced by Mizuyuki U21 coach Shirakiin Kurumi. In her absence, Shirakiin performed well beyond expectations, lifting Mizuyuki's first piece of silverware in the form of the Market Cup and leading the team to qualification for the World Cup Finals at her first attempt. Shirakiin's unexpected success led the Mizuyuki FA to relieve Ishikawa of her coaching duties and appoint Shirakiin with immediate effect. Finding herself without gainful employment, Ishikawa applied for the vacant post of Felix manager in late 2013 and was ultimately successful, defeating several other qualified candidates by way of a thorough examination process to secure the position.

Ishikawa is known as a progressive coach favouring an attacking style of play. Her teams are renowned for their coruscating, fluid attacking movement and emphasis on possession. She generally employs a forward-thinking 4-2-3-1, and has been known to abandon responsible defending in favour of all-out offensive play.

Afforestation in Mizuyuki

From Yukipedia, the free encyclopaedia

Afforestation in Mizuyuki largely revolves around the maintenance of biodiversity and sustenance of local temperate forests. The heavy emphasis that has been placed upon the protection of the environment by the post-Tsuyoshi era administrations has resulted in the encouragement of large-scale afforestation projects, which are designed to repair extensive environmental damage largely caused by widespread deforestation and improper waste disposal during the Tsuyoshi Reformation. The afforestation projects in question have, thus far, been successful in regenerating approximately 17,875 square kilometres of forest. Secondary afforestation policies involving the establishment of experimental afforestation settlements have been laid out by the government in the national budget for the fiscal year 2014 as part of Project Konohana, with the stated objective of moving away from polluting industries and achieving the creation of a sustainable Gaia society in line with the Gaia Initiative.

Miyanaga-san no Nichijō (Mikazukian - 宮永さんの日常 , Tinchalian - 宫永结衣的日常生活) is a Mizuyukian television anime series animated by ReWrite which first aired on television in September 2012. The plot revolves around fresh graduate Miyanaga Yui's daily life in Mizuyuki's most populous city, Celestia, and her occupation as a kindergarten teacher. The series has been cited as a prime example of the slice-of-life genre by several reputable reviewers, and ranks among the top twenty Mizuyukian anime series of all time in terms of average ratings. A manga series began serialisation in Hikari Bunkō magazine in June 2013, with a second spinoff manga series scheduled to begin serialisation in Moekyōkai magazine by April 2014.

Plot

Miyanaga Yui is a 20-year-old junior college student living by herself in the metropolitan area of Celestia, the city of dreams and opportunity. However, after her graduation, she finds that she is unable to secure full-time employment in the workforce. Despite being qualified, Miyanaga is forced to seek gainful employment wherever she can - including stints at a convenience store, a greengrocer's and an English-language school, despite barely being able to speak the language. To make ends meet, she is forced to take up a multitude of part-time jobs, working around the clock to earn enough to pay off her student loan.

During a stroll in her local park, Miyanaga notices a youthful kindergarten teacher taking his charges out for a school trip. Upon seeing the joyful, innocent expressions of the kindergarten students, Miyanaga decides that her calling in life is to become an educator, and she sets about searching for a teaching vacancy. After spending much time on her search, Miyanaga eventually stumbles across a tattered recruitment advertisement for a kindergarten teacher - which she recognises as the same kindergarten which the male teacher she met worked at. On a whim, Miyanaga decides to apply for the position, and is employed as a full time kindergarten teacher at Aozora Kindergarten (青空幼稚園 Aozora Yōchien).

Together with her energetic and enthusiastic colleague Kimizuka Shūichi, Miyanaga tries to tame the unruly brood that are the kindergarten students attending Aozora Kindergarten.

Characters

    Aozora Kindergarten teachers
Miyanaga Yui (宫永 結衣 - Yui Miyanaga)

    Voiced by - Nagahama Chitose
The eponymous character of the series, Miyanaga Yui is a 20-year-old kindergarten teacher currently employed at Aozora Kindergarten. She is a junior college graduate, and is inexplicably, exceptionally bad at dealing with children - a running gag in the series. Miyanaga has a crush on her fellow teacher, Kimizuka Shūichi, but is unable to express her feelings for him. She is infamous within the kindergarten for being a clumsy ditz and generally highly unreliable, despite her cheerful disposition. She is the teacher of the first-year Apple Class. She eventually adopts troublemaker-in-chief Izumi Marina and lives together with her.

Kimizuka Shūichi (君塚 修一 - Shūichi Kimizuka)

    Voiced by - Asahara Genichi
One of two male teachers at Aozora Kindergarten, Kimizuka is the teacher of the first-year Melon Class. He is renowned for being oblivious to Miyanaga's amateurish romantic overtures, although this is known to be unintentional on his part. His easygoing personality makes him wildly popular among his students. Kimizuka-sensei is an athletic person, and enjoys playing football with his students. He loves to drink, and often goes out on drinking sessions with his colleagues despite having a low threshold for alcohol. His favourite food is sushi.

Ogura Natsumi (小倉 夏美 - Natsumi Ogura)
