Major industries: The major industries are extraction of raw materials (production of wool, timber, wheat, vines, olives and gold). The by-products of these industries are clothing, furniture, wine, olive oil and jewellery, and these are exported widely. However, these industries, whilst by no means small, are overshadowed by the automotive industry which produces exports which are in excess of $200million a year.

Motor industry: The motor industry is well established here, and automobiles are necessary in order to get around the country. Currently, the following manufacturers build here:
    Celsan Motors Australithsan
    Ford Motor Company Australithsan
Holden (GM Holden Ltd.) - owned by GMM
    Honda Motor Company Australith
    Mitsubishi Motors Australith
    Nissan Motors Australith
    Toyota Motor Corporation of Australith

Foreign relations: Australis-Australia has always maintained good foreign relations with other nations, including the neighbouring Astholmian region, of which it is part of the Astholmian Council of States (currently represented by Kilcanada in the World Assembly, as with all Astholmian Council of States - aka ACS - nations.)

Trade relations: We have good relations with many nations, across multiple continents. In terms of raw materials, the bulk of the exports are from wool, timber, wheat, vines, olives and gold, and in terms of by-products derived from the raw materials: clothing, furniture, wine, olive oil and jewellery are often exported, in bulk quantities.

Automobiles make up the second largest profit for our nation after timber, wine and olive oil.

Natural Hazards: Mountains

Etymology: The name means "ash-tree slope", from Old English æsc "ash-tree" and Old Norse hlith "slope". The name was recorded in 988 as æt æscan hlite, meaning "(place at) the ash-tree slope", in 1086 as Asliten, and in 1183 as Ashlinth. The name has been changed by (wrongful) association with the country Australia, and as a result the country's name has been added to this nation's.

Television stations: All are broadcast from the United Kingdom, and there are no locally-owned stations.

Radio stations: As above.

Telephone system: This is currently government-owned, but being privatised again.

History of the nation's independence
From the Anglo-Saxon days to 1483 the nation was a Britishastonian territory; however, from 1300 to 1483 the nation was almost conquered by French, German and Astholmian armies, but they were defeated by local military efforts. It was a guerrilla warfare by these nations. From 1300 to 1326 it was ruled as a French territory; then from 1326 to 1411 it was an Astholmian territory, with the local language being a mix of Franco-English, and then from 1411 to 1493, it was under the direct rule of the Danish.

From 1493 to 1623 the nation was ruled by various Prime Ministers (all of whom were Britishastonian, apart from 6 who were native-born), and it was back as a Britishastonian territory.

By 1623, the nation was under Britishastonian rule, and taxes went up, leading to price increases for basic foods and building materials. Riots were caused, and society was on the verge of collapse. It was not a civil war, as some primary sources misleadingly suggest.

From April 15, 1624 the civil unrest had stopped, once the native-born Gerard Keese became Prime Minister. He was initially unpopular at first, but was gradually more popular as the years went by. The nation gradually grew stronger and stronger

From July 7 1638 the nation gained independence from Britainaston, and became an independent territory. Independence Day is celebrated on July 7 every year.

The Commonwealth of Australis Australia is a fledgling, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-working, intelligent population of 5 million are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services.

What he said. It is fine if you want to roleplay as a larger nation, but very few will take you seriously when you are brand new and wanting to have a population ten to twenty times bigger than it actually is.

Also, in your economics section:
Australis-Australia wrote:excess of $400billion a year.

No. Sorry. Not happening. Even players such as myself, having upwards of 10 Billion in population, do not try to claim to have an import, trade surplus of that ridiculous amount. You are literally so new that the NSEconomy calculator doesn't know you exist yet. So for the time being, just cool things down and wait until you are more than a day or two old to start posting your economics, and use this link to accurately depict your nation's economy.

I was using this post as a sandbox to test formatting and ideas for the factbook - and the figures weren't meant to be realistic (they were just nonsense data for testing). Sorry for that oversight.

Anyway, I have corrected those now.

Format is fine. Whatever makes you happy is the format you should use and don't bother with anyone that says otherwise.

Thank you for that.
How do I make my factbook better though?

Just look at the factbooks of older players, see what you like, and add it on. There is no "better" or "worse" factbook as far as style goes. Just make sure you keep good grammar and spelling. Otherwise all efforts are wasted.
