FRENEQUESTA MINISTRY OF MILITARY AND DEFENSE UNOFFICIAL REQUEST NOTE

Atomic weaponry is virtually archaic in Frenequesta, although we do have some in museums and government warehouses.

Everything else is strictly under wraps.

I feel it would be my duty as an established nuclear power to inform you that this is not a wise way to go about a nuclear arsenal.
Such weapon sizes are frankly just a waste of fissile material that could be better used producing a number of much smaller warheads. Remember that a weapon just a few kilotons in yield can devastate a city or military formation.

If you have a weapon significantly larger than maybe 2-5Mt in yield, you're probably getting into wasteful territory. A 5Mt weapon should deal with almost any hardened structure, or certainly impair its effectiveness, and a targeted campaign of low-yield weapons (especially hundred-kiloton MIRVs over a city) will be a much more efficient use of material and launch vehicles.

High yield nukes have their uses. Groundbursting them is a good way of knocking out even really heavily fortified blast shelters used by political leaders or nuclear command and control assets. The US, until very recently, maintained 50 B53 nuclear bombs with a yield of 10 megatons or so designed primarily to attack the Soviet leadership bunkers at Chekhov/Sharapovo. The USSR had even larger 25MT ones on the R-36/SS-18 to strike NORAD or Raven Rock.

That said, for all other uses, multiple, low yield bursts are much more effective than a single big one due to the inverse squares rule.

The United Coalition of Systems is much more interested in space based kinetic kill weapons (i.e. railguns and "Rods from God") as they have proved more reliable and more economical while still maintain a high destructive potential.

Under Section 3 of Article 5 of Military policies, nations that are in the Farcheestian Union, follow the law that Nuclear Weapons are banned from every country in the FU. Therefore, Equalium has, and is not allowed to have, sport or hold nuclear weapons.

Yes, but of course remember that the only state to still field a 20Mt warhead (or at least admit to it) are the Chinese.
A 60Mt warhead (the largest the Haydenish Peoples field) has few uses, unless you want to use specific aspects of a nuclear weapon such as thermal pulse, flash and fallout potential rather than radiation or blast.

We have no nukes instead we are all about infiltrating and disrupting the enemy, using any gained knowledge to our advantage. The nation of What-the does however invest in, use and sell nuclear power technologies.
