The government's decision to massively increase the money supply in order to attempt to counteract the depression have been blamed for this, although Breheim have had many periods of large inflation in the past as well. A growing number of Breheimians demand a new currency, or at least pegging the Krone to silver or gold, in order to counteract inflation.

In the Socialist Jamahiriya of Lesser Africa, money and all other forms of currency have been abolished by the General Secretariat of the General People's Congress, in keeping with the ultimate goal of creating a classless, stateless, moneyless society. Instead of money and other forms of currency, Lesser Africa has a system of ration coupons, in which citizens are allotted resources based on their occupations, activity level, designated hobbies, and other factors. This has proven to be a very efficient system that is created more equality for the People of Lesser Africa.
