No. A law-abiding able-minded Mallaskan can own any firearm, explosive, or military vehicle with only a wad of cash and a Federal ID Card. In fact, all schools have classes regarding effective use of firearms. Compulsary gun ownership is already in place for all males, as they must serve a year in the military or National Police. After service, they are required to keep their handgun and rifle issued to them at home with sufficient ammunition. All active-duty servicemen are required to carry a loaded firearm on them at all times in public places.

Mallaskan legislation is currently debating compulsary ownership for all able-minded citizens, which is likely to pass soon. No gun control legislation has been proposed since 1970. Further, any politician proposing further restrictions on firearms is required to be barred from office by the Chane Acts of 1979, which essentially set the Charter of Citizen's Rights (Our Bill of Rights) in stone. Of course, if you abuse it, you lose it. Anybody involved in significant crime is handed a plethora of punishments including floggings, loss of ability to own or use firearms, doubled taxes, citations, and long terms of imprisonment.

We are often automatically against states which ban firearms, as we see it a blow to civil rights as big as slavery.

The Syndicate and the Collective believes in a human beings right to defend themselves with any means necessary, including a right of protection from corrupt government. Due to a long traditional warrior culture, every citizen after military service is issued a surplus bolt action rifle and legally required to own a firearm. If the citizen so desires and can afford such, they may purchase automatic rifles, handguns, and even documents regarding the creation of explosive ordinance.

The only limits include: The citizen may not be our equivalent to a felon, must be sane, must have that weapon linked to their person, and finally, cannot purchase explosive ordinance. Theoretically, a citizen with enough wealth can purchase a military craft as well. Crime is kept at a low, due to our military’s connection with the people and its presence in every single public space. Patriotism and education also play part, and it is has long been considered treasonous to even do harm upon a fellow countryman. We find it simply inconceivable for any nation to restrict its people’s right to bear arms, we not only consider it a human right but a necessity for any free nation.

Minoa does regulate gun ownership to protect public safety, even within the police and military. Minoa is not generally a gun-bearing society.

Guns are not technically banned, but you're certainly not going to obtain one easily.

Not that it's a problem, few, if any Tsvarchivans, want such things.

If by "gun bans", one means "proper licensing, testing and registration procedures", then yes, we do have a gun ban. After all, you can't simply wander into a gun store and buy a shotgun and walk out again. In order to actually obtain a licence, one must have a clean criminal record, no mental health issues and undergo training and tests before obtaining a gun licence. And even then, said gun licence only allows the operator to purchase and legally own hand guns, shotguns and semi-automatic rifles. That's it.

Magazines with more than 30 rounds are banned as is are hollow-point ammunition. Certain calibres, such as .44 Magnum, are restricted in sale and are only allowed to be sold to individuals with a valid hunting licence and an appropriate carbine/rifle. Any handguns in this calibre are also banned, along with any others of this type in larger calibres.

Not really.

YellowApplan law permits YellowApplans to possess virtually any form of firearm, with the exception of explosive-payload munitions (i.e. any bullet/shell/canister that detonates on impact with an object; this is to avoid structural damage to YellowApplan cities/settlements/ships).

We don't "ban" guns, we just strictly regulate them. Normally, they are only permitted for sport or pest control purposes; if a person has had their property regularly intruded on they can get a permit for self-defence. They also have to have good eyesight, mental health and no criminal record of violent crime.

We do allow the people to own guns. Some states have slightly different regulations, such as background checks and safety courses. Most Auzkhians do not own guns. Those who own guns are not benders or can not use magic. The most common use for firearms is hunting.

Guns, spears, swords, weapons of any kind which can be used offensively in the propagation of revolutionary thought and action are all banned. We are lenient on bow and arrow apparatuses however; the peasants do need to eat after all.

Why?
Because arming the peasants separately of the military spells disaster; we've been there once, we've done that once; the Russo-Spanish Revolution of 1921 has left resounding marks on our society; and we're not going to allow them ammunition for the inevitable second round.

There is no ban on guns in The Empire of The Holy Roman Reich. In fact, its citizens are encouraged to carry guns. I personally believe people are less likely to commit crimes when the person next to them may shoot them or hold them at gun point until the police arrive.

Gun ban?! Are you kidding? Whatever you find, buy, or fix up is yours. Mayor MacCready has seven guns, the maximum amount of guns one person has being fifty-three, belonging to a boy known as Bullets.

In short? No.

Outdated but usable firearms have trickled down to most of the villages and towns since the Intolerable War – such weapons are common for hunting, defense or even sport among the rural citizenry. Outside of these older muzzle loading weapons (which obviously fall outside of regulation), when an individual reaches the age of consent (typically 14 or 15 depending on the territory) with the proper credentials and no criminal history they can own or buy pretty much whatever they please (from small arms to military grade assault weapons) though some individual territories may place restrictions on the purchase and operation of armored vehicles, artillery or anti-tank grade weaponry (Silverline in particular is the only known for this practice).

You are asking the wrong questions. Rather than asking why one should prohibit civilian ownership of firearms you should be asking why one should allow it. Any serious civilian shooting need (hunting, sportsmanship etc.) can be handled quite adequately by firearms owned by registered organizations and leased for operation on regulated hunting and shooting ranges. The one ones that aren't covered by this are the need to shoot and kill other citizens. And that is one need that should NOT be fulfilled for obvious reasons.

The Federal Republic of Lolzieristan does not maintain any seriously restrictive bans on firearms. Considering the fact that traditionally, around 66% of our male population has served in the armed forces for at least two years, due to our policy of universal armed service, our citizens are properly trained in their use and maintenance. Some near-universal standards of firearms regulation are excercised, such as registration and carrying licenses, as well as the Graduated Scale of Firearm Ratings.

At the age of 17, all Lolzi citizens are permitted to purchase one (1) smooth-bore shotgun. If, after three years of possession, the citizen is not convicted of any felonies or particularly violent misdemeanors like domestic violence, they are then permitted to purchase all legally permitted firearms.

Military equipment, such as automatic weapons and anti-tank/aircraft equipment, are not permitted for private ownership, but, in the event of a hostile incursion into our national territory, the Oborotni branch of the armed forces maintains a series of decentralized armories, holding obsolete military equipment like the RPG-2 and the Strela-2, the 7.62x39mm varieties of Kalashnikovs like AKM and the AK-47 in service under the Red Stanian military plus RPDs, SKSes, and all sorts of antiquated equipment. Also impossible amounts of high explosives and whatnot.
Sometimes I'm reading through military threads here, and I stop and think "What the hell is wrong with all of us?" But then I get on Facebook, and realize I'd rather be insane than an idiot.
