Well, as I said above, IFVs are good enough in my opinion. Plus, push come to shove, I'm sure the RPG can score a mobility kill on an MBT, thus allowing the squad to escape.

it can in fact do thermobaric warheads... I'm not entirely sure what they're for... but every platoon gets two of them.

We were told that ~750mm which is given by newest RPG warheads is enough to penetrate sides of enemy tank. Then again we are probably talking about older T-series stationed in Russo-Finnish border.

750mm is probably enough to penetrate side hull of anything short of an Abrams.
Certainly enough for an engine-shot M-kill on literally anything.

Now getting around to pistol caliber cartriges. 65 meters or less out of a pistol length (less than 120mm-160mm) barrel and you get in. If its farther, but below 100m, it may need to be tweked.
Because a pistols theoretical effective range is normally no more than that, unless its got itself a stock.
