Well, half this thread has gone ahead and ignored Benomia for a reason.

The SVT-40 was probably your semi-auto intermittent after a logical Mosin-Nagant period, if you were going to continue with 7.62mmR, you could have developed an automatic variant of the SVT-40 (kind've what happened with the Americans and the M1 Garand and the M14).

Honestly, the SS battalion would be better off upgrading to all new kit, unless they were all engineers/scientists or were escorting a whole heap of engineers and scientists.

It would be of a similar ilk to the 'chummy' Battle Rifles of the Early Cold War, the M14, G3, FAL, etc, all of which fired in essence a full powered rifle cartridge, but nothing as manly as the 7.62mmR.

The SVU-A, in my humbled opinion, doesn't suit the look or feel of a city-state that has been isolated for centuries. If anything, it is too modern. A reliably built homebrew SVT-esque automatic rifle would probably have been enough to defend the city for the last fifty or so years, with progressive upgrades along the way. The SVU-A just seems too... much of a jump.

DPM was better, and the RP-46 was replaced by the PK because it had a belt-box.

Now, the thing about the RP-46 design (which was copied from the DShK), is that it works with anything that has a fixed reciprocating bolt-handle.

Preferred round: 20x60 APS (Anti-Personnel Shredder)

20x60 APX (Anti-Personnel Explosive)
20x60 AAPX (Anti-Armour Penetrative Explosive - delayed action explosive behind a penetrator dart)
20x60 AADN (Anti-Armour Defense Neutralizer - powerful acid capsule behind a cloud of microexplosives)
20x60(80) APB (Extension Anti-Personnel Bolt)
20x60 MRU (Multi-Role Utility)

About the Smart Deploy armour screen: this is what the huge panelly bits on the sides of the main body do.

Additional featurettes: the stock has non-functional additional magwells (one per side) to carry two spare magazines, for rapid ammo switching when prone.
The case eject is the panel just behind the bolt, with the bullet icon on it. It may seem short, but this is because it ejects casings backwards instead of straight sideways, to make it easier for the sniper to recover them when on covert ops.

So, what do y'all think? I'm worried I might have made the stock too long on this one, even though I shortened it twice in production...
