How about armoured missiles filled with men? With hock compensating gel or something, to literally smash through the hull and deploy the troops?

In our thread were boarding a ship with no power and an incapacitated crew in a ship at a standstill. In combat there would be to much going on and to many things the defenders could do to slaughter boarding attempts

My anti-boarding mechanisms are... NO MECHANISMS! IMPERIAL MARINES, TO ARMS! And auto-turrets. I like doing infantry fights, close quarters katana ambushes, corridors blowing up and sucking men out... Yeah, pretty unrealistic, but whatever. RULE OF COOL. Thanks for teaching me that, huhuhu.


Also, is anyone planning on doing trade ships and stuff? These should be unarmed tankers and such in there.

Im hoping to have the Empire company conduct trade between our two nation and do to piracy Empire ships are fitted to repeal pirates with vortech weapons.(also a accident is more acceptable aboard a military ship were men can be written off as KIA)

Why not both? Magnetic repulsion into a plasma film? Also, I'd need a far more powerful field to refract energy streams, so I added a chaff-like particle effect to refract.

Accaptable losses, atleast aboard military vessels civilian ones or corporate ones will fight with Vortech weapons. This is becuase the operating system the military uses to network its military forces are aboard the ships computers and it would allow the enemy to began cyber warfare against Coalition forces. Where as corporate ships are less worried about it and civilian ships use what ever they can afford.

Wires, computer components, moving part (the ship*cough*) would be vunerable and quickly start deteriorating(although the ship as alot more to mass than a boarding party, so you go down before the ship is weakend significantly) as for trying to get into other parts of the ship Teverian gases and Galbadiian gas will combust with you in it, you might be able to cut into another part of the ship if you work quick enough but one way or another it will bring you down. (hopefully)

I'm not sure what I've got that really needs ironing out. I still need designs for my Armor, Helmet, Plasma Weaponry, and Ballistic Weaponry, but asides that, I'm not really sure what I have that needs to be fixed.

I use conventional Ballistic mixed with Plasma on the ground, as well as a few army units who use melee weapons. In Space, I use Plasma and EDWs (Energy Discharge Weaponry) as offensive capabilities and Rocketry as counter-measures. The only thing that would not be okay in that group is the EDW, which I'm not sure would work in space.

This is to prevent pointless arguments from breaking out about how are weapons work for example if a nation relies on EMP weapons disabling electronics yet the person who their fighting doesnt think their stuff would be effected by EMP. And all of a sudden their entire weapon bases is pointless.

Or if someone uses anti boarding policy on a person that uses boarding in every battle it needs to be worked out

Or if someone uploads virus into computers to disable fleets and the other person says their not even working with the same OS so a virus would be pointless it neuters a persons prefered attack.

Or you know someone copies and past their stuff from another source and refuses to accept different reasoning or systems becuase thats not how they work in the source they got their stuff from.

So really, what we need is a total statistic sheet on every unit, infantry weapon, and spaceship there is?

Well, disadvantages should be not included. If you include them it provides an extremely big temptation to God-Mod.

Good point, but even then this would just be guide to prevent major hiccups. If the RP would be better if something happened even if that something would not normally then it should happenbfor the sake of the RP. This is a story after all we just have to all agree whats cannon.
