The nation is named after the name the Terrans gave to the planet, "Nocturnalia"; this was based both on the relative darkness of the planet and the similar-sounding demonym used by the inhabitants, Nokt'ural.

In Old Nocturnalian, the country is called "Nokt'rnalya". This was the official name of the country before the Terran invasion and colonisation.
In New Nocturnalian, the country is called "Nocturnalya"; this is the form that is used in modern times.

The full, legal name of the nation is "Rhaeghium Nocturnalyam Inperiom", or "Empire of the Nocturnalian Realm"

[Dozikistan]

In 1842 a former catholic priest turned millerite pastor, Reverend Gregory Brannigan founded a Millerite (Advent) church near the community of Dozier, North Carolina.

A charismatic and devout follower of William Miller, Rev. Brannigan soon began attracting hundreds of parishioners to his Dozier Freewill Advent Church. As William Miller's date for the Second Coming was fast approaching, Rev. Brannigan proposed leading a pilgrimage to find the Garden of Eden and await the rapture there with his followers. Miller agreed but urged Brannigan and his congregation to hurry in their preparations to reach the site before the rapture on October 22, 1844.

In April of 1843, Brannigan led 1,044 Millerites out of the US to seek Eden. Brannigan and followers sold all their possessions and borrowed heavily to finance their expedition. After a long sea voyage and overland trek, they arrived at the site identified by Miller. They erected a tent encampment on the site and built a small church they named the New Dozier Eden Church. Brannigan began preaching from the church and warning native residents of the Second Coming of Jesus.

On October 22, 1844; Brannigan, his follower and some local people gathered on a field to await the rapture. When the world did not end, the Millerites were at a loss. They had expected the end of world and had sold all their belongings and only brought tents and basic supplies on their pilgrimage, so now they found themselves penniless in a foreign land thousands of miles from America with winter fast approaching.

Brannigan began petitioning and begging locals for assistance and was able to arraign for barracks to be built for his people in exchange for their labor on farms and on fish boats in the spring. The locals referred to their impoverished Americans as "Doziers" in reference to their church.

The Doziers began repaying their debts to their new neighbors, as well as establishing their own farms around their settlement, which native residents began referring to derisively as "Dozikistan" in the style of local Muslim tribes that they also regarded as poor and backwards.

Initially resentful of the term, the Millerites began identifying more and more with the idea of Dozikistan which eventually gave its name to the new Dozik nation.

Rexzich City got it's name from Rexington(our predecessor city-state).Rexington was named because;When the immigrants were looking to found a new town they came to the north(of the U.S.) and were looking around randomly in an attempt to find a good place to build.Finally,one of the future resident's dog Rex Ran off into the forest and came to a large field near a lake.After locating him they thought that this spot would be the perfect spot to build their new town,which they had not thought of a name for.Since the dog had found it they thought they should name it Rexgrad.But after some thought,the people thought Rexgrad sounded to Russian.So they named it Rexington which they thought sounded more American.Nearly a century later,after the people of Rexington repelled the American invasion and decided to expand their city-state,they decided to name the country Rexzich City."zich" had no meaning to them,but they thought it sounded cool so everyone just went with it.And here we are!

The name, "Sivonia" derives from the language spoken in the country, Sivish. Sivonia literally means, "nation of the Sivish". Sivonia's predecessor, the Republic of Kyzeria, and the predecessor of Kyzeria, the Kyzonian Empire, were named after the first Emperor of Kyzonia, Kyzer I, who had unified the continent of Kydoslavia, which is now modern-day Sivonia. The continual use of Kyzer's name ended after the corruption and weakness of the Kyzerian republic, and was changed to mark a new beginning for the Sivish people.

Originally, Croxoco was actually several colonies of the Valorum Monarchy, and was called 'The Croxian Colonies' or 'The Colonies of Croxia'. the former was often abbreviated to 'CroxianCo', which eventually evolved into Croxoco. Croxoco became the official name of the colonies when they successfully fought for independence, becoming the modern day Federative Republic of Croxoco.

Aquafireland is named after many things. 'Aqua' is named after the clear blue waters in the nation. The 'fire' is the amount of things burned in one day. The 'land', well...I really don't have to explain that for you.
