What are the hunting laws in your nation?

Postby Arkamek » Tue Jan 22, 2013 12:55 pm

Is sport hunting legal in your country? In Arkamek, sport-hunting is illegal, as well as zoos. Hunting is only legal when the game will be eaten.

If you see one of 'em critters on your land, you're free to shoot it. There are special reserves, large forests, where hunting is prohibited without a permit. That's where wild animals live.

Yes it is very legal in ESC. However, you may only hunt in reserved land in parks (Such as the Great Dismal Swamp Hunting Reserve).

Guns are largely controlled in Ryaanistan, but citizens are free to hunt with pistols or bows and arrows. If you have a hunting license then you are free to go into the wildlife of Ryaanistan's lush forests and hunt to your hearts content. Certain animals are of course illegal to hunt though under the rules of poaching.

In the colony, it is always open season, and there are no restrictions on weapons used. This is because we are at war with nature.

It is legal, as long as you don't poach on someone elses land.

Permits are not required, but all kills must be reported at the local warden's office (every settlement has one). Each province has personal and provincial monthly maximum kill quotas, as well as protected species and areas. The provincial killed/maximum lists are updated every day; hunters and trappers are strongly encouraged to check the lists before going out. Weapons likely to cause collateral damage (eg. flamethrowers, explosives, chemical weapons, &c.) are banned for hunting. Sport hunting is legal, but rarely practised, most hunters intend to do something useful with the animal.

Generally, we do not allowing hunting of animals for sport (we have in the past tried a sluggard cull but nobody really wants to get close enough to 'em to shoot one), but we do allow the annual Lawyer Shoot.

As long as you have hunting approval from the Council, you can hunt in certain areas. But not penguins. The hunting of penguins is considered treason.

Hunting Wild Dinosaurs and Pterosaurs as well as Regulus Drakònians is illegal (minus evil ones or ones on violent rampage) while Marine Reptile hunting is considered so incredibly dangerous, only the fool-hardy ever attempt it. Reptiles as a whole are generally taboo to hunt (save by other Reptiles), though Mammal hunting, from deer to rabbits, is fair game.

No limits as long as it's on your property. Once upon a time we had game wardens but it proved too dangerous an occupation.

Hunting laws are the purview of provincial governments, not the federal government. Hunting is legal and regulated in every province.

Surprisingly, no law regulates hunting...only if hunting doesn't have any place in our national culture and psyche. Herdites have never participated in hunting for food, being predominantly herbivore, thus it had not grown into a recreational activity. Our animals also show high levels of near-sapient intelligence, thus Herdites revile and condemn the very idea of killing an innocent such a creature for entertainment. Foreigners do hunt sometimes since nothing stops them from doing it...but with no one there to help them out in the wilderness or to provide guidance they most often fail against surprisingly organized and intelligent prey, or even fall prey themselves to some of the larger and more dangerous supernatural fauna that is so abundant in Herdite forests. Do not go hunting in the Herd.

Sport hunting is only legal for birds, as they are in vast numbers at this time.

Hunting of the wolf is illegal and punishable by jail time, it is a federal offense.

Hunting is legal by default in all Kiravian states and inhabited posessions. It is illegal on all Federal property except for certain game reserves. There are a few uninhabited Kiravian posessions where hunting is prohibited for conservation purposes.

Each of the states may pass its own laws regarding hunting. In compliance with federal law, species on the Schedule of Federally-protected Species may not be hunted (under pain of Federal prosecution), in addition to any other species protected by the state. Hunting seasons, weapons regulations, licensing, weight/age/sex restrictions on quarry, and delineation of areas where hunting is allowed are up to the states and vary according to local needs.

Certain ethnosocial groups (usually non-Coscivian indigenous peoples) are granted special exemptions from normal hunting laws.

Hunting is a fairly common, though not universal practice in Kiravia. In the less-developed mountain, forest, and tundra regions of the Federacy, game is a critical source of nutrition.

Cascavian hunters are allowed to hunt in Public Hunting Reserves, large areas rich with game often located in national parks, and on private properties located outside urban areas without any restrictions. Outside of the areas a hunter will require a special permit to hunt which is normally issued by local councils on a case by case basis. With that said there are some animals which are illegal to hunt anywhere in Cascavia, these are normally endangered animals which would become extinct if the hunting of them was allowed. Most hunters in Cascavia equip themselves with bolt action rifles which are easily obtained with the most basic firearms licence, the most popular of which is the M10 B2 Match.

we have one hunting law. it is extremely simple. it is also enforced pretty much absolutely: "you kill it, you eat it".
of course if its something large enough to feed a lot of people, then of course you share it, but you still have to eat at least some of it.

one problem with hunting in cameroi of course, is that it isn't always easy to tell what is a citizen and what is some simpler life form.
this is due to the diversity of life forms that are sapient in cameroi and also our advanced cosmetic re-geneticization med-tech,
that allows people to permanently look like any sort of physical life form they might happen to desire.
including whatever they may happen to dream up themselves, should they so wish.

exceptions exist for micro-fauna such as bacteria and viruses of course, and also for small life forms completely lacking of anything resembling or functioning as, a central nervous system.
but those are pretty much the only exceptions. even plant life, while not always edible, must be put to good use in some way.

It depends what state you are in. States with large numbers of wild animals, particularly the northern states, will tend to have looser gun restrictions and allow people to shoot wild animals threatening their properties or livelihoods.

Hunting for sport is generally legal, but Radiatia is a fairly barren place and it there isn't much to hunt in most of it.

Hunting is absolutely legal, but there is nothing to hunt. Save for cockroaches and other most robust primitive lifeforms most wildlife has long went extinct in Tyresia due to all the pollution.

There are some whispers claiming that like Zokorian gentlemen above the higher-ups of the corporate ladder do engage in hunting humans, in particular communist and environmentalist protesters, but the ruling corporation itself denies all that as silly talk.

Hunting of any type is illegal, with the exception of certain individuals tasked with making sure local animal populations remain under control.
