Yes we do have Capital Punishment. It is an option for the judicial system to use in most cases of violent crime. It must be decided to be used by the prosecutor and then brought before a Grand Jury to have them decide if it is warranted. The actual sentence is brought down by the Petit Jury and the Judge. After appeals the sentence is carried out via the prisoners choice of one of the five most common western methods: hanging, firing squad, lethal injection, electrocution, or nitrogen asphyxiation.
(We have 24 hr. visiting period before execution and Last Meal requests are granted as long as they are reasonable.)

Of course! All forms of treason end up with the traitor being killed. Notably, dissent is considered a form of treason. This may shock those of democracies, but there is a very good reason for this classification:

Those who dissent against Leader Megatron obviously want someone else to lead, and the only way that's ever going to happen is if Megatron gets killed. Therefore, dissent means that they want him dead and are actively trying to get others to agree enough for someone to try to kill him.

Obviously, it is in Megatron's best interests to get rid of people who are trying to kill him, whether they attempt it directly or spread discontent in order to incite others to try it. It only stands to reason that Megatron will return the sentiment - backed by the Decepticon Military.

Dissenters who think it's somehow unsporting of Megatron to send the troops against them can easily avoid having that happen by challenging the leader to an honorable duel. Then they will be killed in single combat against him, instead of being hunted down like dogs by the nearest convenient military personnel.

Either way, they're dead metal.

Uladh still does have the death penalty. As of yet the only method of execution is by firing squad, and such punishment hasn't been sentenced in almost 20 years. A few attempts have made to petition for the removal of the death penalty, these were met with low support.

We do have capital punishment. The primary capital crimes are banditry, piracy, slaving, and treason. The penalty for the first three is to be hung by the neck until dead. The penalty for the last is beheading with axe or sword, depending on the condemned's station (ceorlas get the axe, æþelingas get the sword). We try to make sure that the initial drop breaks the condemned's neck, or the first blow severs the spinal cord, as appropriate. We will kill people when we find it necessary, but when we find it necessary to kill someone, we do it swiftly. The point is not to torment the condemned; the point is to make the world a better place by removing them from it.
