Only in cases of rape (until the heart starts beating) or the mother's life in danger (any point until the child exits the birth canal, which would be too late for the mother anyway). All other cases, unacceptable.

Also, yes, but with some restrictions. Only freely available until 18 weeks in the pregnancy and only beyond that in special cirumstances to be determined by medical boards.

Scientists and ethicists are currently working to determine the beginning of humanhood.

Penguins, of course, tend not to abort, because their sex and its outcome is always appropriate and life-affirming.

Yes it is, but it is very uncommon. They are not covered by insurance, so a future mother will have to pay out of her pocket (Except in cases of rape).

Not unless the pregnancy poses a risk to maternal health. A narrow majority of states allow abortions in the case of rape or incest, as does the Federal government on military installations.

It should also be noted that it's nearly impossible for fathers to get out of paying child support, and pretty easy to order paternity tests of suspected fathers.

Abortions have been rendered completely obsolete since the evolution of our reproductive organs. Our children leave the body as spores, and develop into fully matured adults. Abortion would be ridiculous, and also the absolute equivalent of murder. In the case of unascended organisms, however, we only permit abortion if the carrier's life is in danger. (or worse) In such cases, it is far better to lose one life than two, and so an exception can be made.

Abortion is theoretically legal in cases where no alternative exists. But in practice no abortions are ever performed since we have many alternatives to abortion.

Our reproductive anatomy prevents us from having unwanted pregnancies since we reproduce by parthenogenesis or cloning. And prenatal children which are threatened by a injury to the mother are transferred into a cloning vat to complete their maturation.

And unwanted pregnancies in baseline humans (or other alien species which can have unwanted pregnancies) are always adopted by some private individual or a charity or the state will step in and adopt them if need be. And the child will be moved into a cloning vat to complete their gestation before going to live with their adopted parent(s).

We can also correct even the most severe genetic disorders so this is no longer a valid reason for an abortion, we will simply correct the problem as soon as it is practical to do so and the child will live a normal life.
