The high degree of surveillance is frightening to some, as most electronical communication is at least mildly monitored by hyperintelligent and party-faithful AIs, although following the reforms of 454 (more than ten years ago) only plotting to commit treason, terror or other crimes is punishable when uttered in personal conversations (even criticism of the regime is permitted in private conversation these days).

The high degree of decision-making commited by advanced AIs can be worriesome to some, as most of the Economical Planning of our country is done by AIs who are able to predict local and planetary shortages and overproduction before they happen, and make changes accordingly. Some worry that the AIs will use their large influence over the economy to take over, although the commanding heights of the economy is controlled by the Party (the AIs only fulfilling the grand plan by making localized production quotas).

Simple, the most frighting thing is that you can't even mention your religion or say good things about foreign governments or you're arrested and thrown into the labor camps.

But probably most of all that our technology is of a state unfathomable by those of lesser societies. That even if we were to give them something there would be no way for them to understand how it works let alone reproduce whatever the object was.

Our air defenses are very good, and we destroy a number of enemy aircraft and falling bombs, but a number of the bombs get through and kill some of our people and destroy some of our buildings. On occasion our enemies will also attack our country with a mass paratrooper drop. To be prepared for such paratrooper attacks, there are guns and other personal military equipment in every home and workplace, and every able-bodied person, even children, are given military training. To provide enough soldiers to fight against our more-powerful enemy, everyone in our country who is considered relatively expendable is drafted, and that includes all old people.

1. The Imperial Order of the Paladins is the imperial family's royal guards. While they are rarely deployed in combat, once they are deployed when the situation calls, a whole nation can burn to the ground.
Veterans of militaries whose state was formerly an enemy of Archonium will breakdown once they hear the word "Paladins". Although they are generally nice and fun-loving people in times of peace, in combat they don't differ that much from a berserk monster.
The Order is Archonium's most powerful organization other than the government itself, and has the might of that of the whole Imperial Armed Forces.
The comparison of the Paladins and the Armed Forces number is 13,578 Paladins to 16,530,000 soldiers of the armed forces.

2. Alexandra von Schwarzenherr, the empress consort (wife of the current emperor), is also a Paladin. With a kill count of 4,154, she is the most skilled of all of the Imperial guards and is their most famous and dangerous member. Because of her terrifying powers, she is sometimes dubbed as the "Demon Lady/Queen" by her comrades and enemies alike.

Schwarzenherr was initiated into the Order in the age of 12 -the youngest person to do so- after she was found starving on the streets by then (now Emperor) Crown Prince Ceyran Archonis. She was originally a homeguard (a paladin who only stays in the imperial palace to protect and serve the imperial family) at first, but after a big war which involves the Empire, she was sent to the Order's combative division.

Although she has no professional training in military combat, her previous experience with gangs and bullies made her able to fight in battles. Starting out with the rank of "Disciple" at first, fourth months later (when the war ended) she was promoted to "Captain-Commander", the Paladin's third highest rank. Years later she was given the title of "Knight-Paladin", which means that she is one of the lucky 25 who are considered as the Empire's finest warriors.

At a point she was given the title of "Seraph", and later "Archangel". Both of them are at the highest hierarchy of the Paladin, whose powers and influences surpasses that of the Paladin's Conclave (the body which governs the Order). Three years ago, Alexandra was promoted to the rank of "Grandmaster". A Grandmaster is similar to an armed forces' commander and is the most supreme body of the Order (even the Seraph and Archangel has less power than him/her).

As a result of her tremendous skills and destructive power, her husband ordered the Empire's most prominent scientists and mages to apply a "seal" on her, which will then limit her power down to only 0.5% of her real power (the same goes to her eldest daughter whose power is similar or even greater than Alexandra's). The seal can only be released if the nation's Threat Level is at its highest (the only time where the Empress consort can be sent into the battlefield).
