What elements or features was your nation inspired by?

Kedri was inspired by pirates, mythology, 18th century Great Britain, the Caribbean, Pirates of the Caribbean, and France

The name Kedri was first used in a pirate story I never finished in the sixth grade and I came up with the name entirely on my own. Kedri was a geographically based on Florida with a parallel equivalent of the British empire.

I discovered NS in the ninth grade and thought a pirate themed nation would be cool. I was struggling for a name until I remembered the story and named the nation Kedri.

Originally, I was keeping it completely realistic where Kedri existed in our real world. That got boring, so I spiced things up by taking inspiration from the Last Airbender resulting in waterbending pirates and I also added some steampunk.

Switzerland, Cossacks, Germanic tribes, the Norse, Vostroyans (40k), Britain and Sweden.

French Second Empire

Mostly The Holy Roman Empire,and Austria Hungary.
Some of my favorite cartoons and some of my imagination.

The North bit is based on Vinland, so like Norse/Danish Vikings and Saxons, and the rest is a sort of Dutch ex-colonial Kingdom who are now colonisers like the British.

Dwarves from typical fantasy settings, Roman Republic, medieval times.

German Empire.

Based on a post apocalyptic socio-democratic society of conventional South Africans in the 1980's .

European constitutional monarchies + Atlee's Labour ministry.

A dream I had which sparked me creating my race and nation.

Eh, mostly my IC nation is inspired by the gameside issues and stats.

The idea of the FTCE was a technological corporation ruled society, where profit and tech development were more important than the common man. On the other hand I'm looking to see if I can have one that is relatively mobile and free without disastrously impoverishing the many. (The impoverishing part isn't doing so well)
I was inspired by Apple, the United States and the Weyland Corporation.

The USSR, PRC, and a little bit of Sparta.

A site called Zimmer Twins, The game Psychonauts, and some other stuff.

How much of a failure anarchy would be if implemented in the modern world.

Also, of course as always, drugs.

The inspiration of Finch is Denmark, the US of the 50s (minus all the pesky apartheid) and socialist-capitalist views

EVE Online's Amarr Empire, Christianity, the Roman Empire, the Greeks, 1920's United States, and a dash of Chinese industrialism.

Russian Federation, Soviet Union, China and an excessive amount of optimism.

Japanese, Chinese, Slavic, and Latinic cultures.

I was inspired by the movie Die Welle and added my nation: Romania. Probably, maybe be other influences to inspire me.

"What would it look like if an ancient New World type civilisation (similar to the Incas) managed to successfully fend off its conquistadores and developed into a modern state?"

Just add elected monarchy, confederation and some weird technological preferences, and don't forget the giant ground sloths.
