Honduras, a game of Tropico 3 I played, and from there any depiction of a stereotypical Latin American banana republic.

A pristine backwater in the mid-70s, "governed" by a military junta, who are in turn unwitting puppets of the Tropical Sun fruit company.

Oh boy. Where to start...?

  • The Homeworld series of real-time strategy games.
  • Hacker culture
  • My often-strange imagination
  • My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
  • Some past and present tech companies (Sun Microsystems in particular)
  • Others that I am not recalling right now

- The Kraken (tentacleyness)
- The Morthanveld from the Cultureverse (aquaticness)
- The Idiran from the Cultureverse (space theocracy)
- The Covenant
- Octopuses
- Mass Effect's Leviathans
- HP Lovecraft

Do note, most of these inspired maybe one or two things. The first two are the big ones. FT by the way.

Several fictional influences have had a large bearing on Olwe's inspiration. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Magic: The Gathering, Classic Dungeons & Dragons (my rulebook is copyright 1980), Underworld, Grimm, The Sword of Truth and The Belgariad. I might have forgotten one or two, and it's important to remember: If it exists in speculative fiction, it exists in Olwe. So don't think I'm limited to just those universes either.

Tech levels incompatible? Then kick me out of the thread, because if you RP with me you accept my tech.
Note: Before 2480, Olwe was called Athan. If you see this word in a thread, it's because you mentioned a year incompatible with Olwe in that thread but still made it open to all techs and therefore are allowing Athan's magic.

Me, wishing I had an MT/PMT nation after my FT nation died from inactivity.

It's intended to be pretty similar.
No, I'm not new to NS. I've run a nation before.

  • Max Barry's Jennifer Government. We're a Capitalizt!
  • Libertarian Fascism and Social Darwinism.
  • Freemasonry.
  • The vicious, imperialist Holy Britannian Empire from Code Geass.
  • Republican and Libertarian Party.
  • Corrupt Corporate.
  • OK, actually it's pretty much a "Capitalist Fear".
  • My own vicious, evil, ruthless, corrupt, anything-bad version libertarianism and corporatism (as I'm opposed it).

Fatatatutti was originally inspired by Gilligan's Island and Green Acres. Along the way a lot of inspiration has come from NationStates itself. For example, the armed forces funded by bake sales and the high youth crime rate (which we attribute to "boys will be boys") are an attempt to "go along" with the World Assembly's assessment of our nation.

Jokes, it was mainly inspired by Switzerland's Cantons...
Your generic eco-friendly capitalist nation, have a nice day.
This is how I would end up running a nation. However this will not represent my views, as I am a self proclaimed social democrat.

My political beliefs in general. Since the Scandinavian countries influence my beliefs though, I suppose you could say that countries like Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland all influenced my nation.

The WH40K Imperium of Mankind, the Clans of the BattleTech universe, the Third Reich, Classical Antiquity (Roman Empire and Sparta), Byzantine Empire and old Japan.

Think of Sidhae as genetically-enhanced cyborg Fascists and zealots of the grimdark far future who worship a God-Emperor, divide themselves in militaristic Clans, use Graeco-Roman/Byzantine terminology for many things and follow a code of conduct and self-discipline similar to Bushido.

The TBRE can be summed up in the following ways: socially Norwegian (relatively left), economically Swedish (welfare state), having a Dutch-style foreign policy (focused on international law and development) and being culturally Canadian (multicultural). If any of that made sense.
My full name is actually "[The] Teddy Bear Republic Empire."
