Just to name a few. I keep adding things that catch my interest.

A good bit of it is based off my imagination and my political beliefs, though there are other influences. It's basically a combination of Germany, America, Rome, the Venetian Republic, and Prussia with Scalies. Religiously, the predominant religions are influenced by Norse and Roman paganism as well as Christianity. Economically, the economy's like that of America in the 1950s or 1920s except with a heavy Austrian economics influence.

There's also some influences from Spyro, Star Wars, Call of Duty, Jurassic Park, Middle-Earth, the Progressive Era, The Terrible Thunderlizards, the Third Reich, Skyrim, and My Little Pony.

I wanted to make a country inhabited by sapient kangaroos. I've recently retconned most of the previous Kangaroo Republic. What started out as what I would refer to as the Great Linguistic Retcon, turned into a major overhaul of the entire history, geography, and culture of the country, thus creating the Kangaroo Republic v 2.0

The Kangaroo Republic 2.0 draws its inspirations from many sources. Australia is a real life country that I based a lot of the politics of the Kangaroo Republic on, but in many cases, I added my own twist to it or mixed it up with sources from other countries. In this way, the government of the Kangaroo Republic turned into a mixture of Australia's alternative vote system with New Zealand's Mixed Member Proportional Representation, and the major parties are directly inspired by those of Australia, with my own little twists added here and there.

As for the culture of the Kangaroo Republic. It is largely based on Anglo-Saxon and Norse culture, especially pre-colonial, while the British had a direct influence after 1600, when they colonised the Kangaroo Republic. Macropodine Paganism is the established religion, and draws most of its inspiration from Norse paganism. In figuring out the architecture, especially pre-colonial, I looked specifically at Norse and Anglo-Saxon architecture, and wanted to keep French influences minimum. The language of the Kangaroo Republic is based on Old and Middle English, with more Nordic influences than French and Latin influences. Kind of like a "what would English sound like if the Normans never showed up". It is probably the thing I am proudest of, but a few things I like to nitpick on with the Kangan language, like its heavy favour of -e case endings, which makes it sound a bit too singy-songy to me. The most unique thing of Macropodine culture, which I could not just directly inspire from real life, is the cuisine. Given the macropodines' solely herbivorous grazing diet, I went with the option of satirically adding grass to the cuisine.

Then of course, post-colonially, the British, and with that, the French and Latin influences, still sept through to the Kangaroo Republic. Some Scottish traditions were also adopted, if they were similar to Macropodine traditions, like the kilt, which is already similar to the pleated skirt garments pre-colonial Macropodines used to wear (because pants suck when you have a tail), which have also become a useful way for the Macropodines to display their clan affiliations.

Macropodine attitudes and social etiquette and customs were once again inspired by commonwealth countries, especially Australia and New Zealand: A heavy tall poppy syndrome, an intricate shouting system every bargoer knows and adheres to, support for the underdog, and a deep respect for the military. Endurance, courage, good humour, larrikinism, and mateship, are all qualities of the Macropodine character, that were directly inspired by Australia and New Zealand.

Finally, there's the economy. While the major industries of the country are based on Australia, with mining being one of the main reasons the Kangaroo Republic has gained prosperity, its economic system of tri-partite cooperation between employers' organisations, labour unions and the government, was directly inspired by the polder model of the Netherlands.

Azurand is represent both of my Utopia and Dystopia, as there are many rules and contents this nation has is contrary to my concept about "Utopia", but there are far more rules and contents, even the authoritarian, psychotic ones, that come from my concept of Utopia.

Culture and History mostly came from Indonesia, as it's my own country and only country I've large courage to RP with, since I've never go to other countries. Congestion, colonial legacies, Islamic Fundamentalism (although that one is few in Indonesia). The language is also influenced by Bahasa Indonesia, although there are some differences. But the race, Azurandi, is pretty much has Western and Arabic characteristics.

Military is influenced by the Third Reich, Bismarck-Prussia, and many, many games. Don't forget about the Dinosaurs and unique ancient mammals, such as large anteaters or sloths.

The Government is the concept of my Caliphate, when Caliph isn't elected democratically, nor succeeded the throne to his son, but chosen by a group of Islamic clerics. The only form of "Democracy" is the Diwan Konsultasi. There are also some fascist elements here and there, Islamist version of the Republicans, etc, etc.

Well, that's some. I'm keep adding the numbers of stuff that catch my interest in this nation, of course.

I really can't put my finger on it, but the Ideals of my Nations were based off of the idea that everyone has rights.

The idea for Saintland was basically a modernized medieval society. Saintland is slightly behind the times economically and a relatively poor nation by developed nation standards. The Church's theology is still medieval, the King's power is still absolute and Latin is the official and national language.
