Clergy In Your Nation

Postby The Multiversal Species Alliance » Thu Dec 27, 2012 11:50 pm

How are clergypeople viewed in your nation?
They are the second most highly viewed occupation in the Alliance, because they help people through difficult times and act as beacons for hope.

Clergymen and women are scorned for propagating the obsolete social concept of religion. While the profession is legal and they're tolerated under law, generally they don't last long due to the lack of religious people (only 5% of our population is theist) and the general disdain and discrimination they'll face culturally by the rest of our citizens.

Being a God-fearing, highly religious country, clergymen - Catholic clergymen, in particular - are very highly viewed by the citizens of our nation as embodying our faith in God and His promise of salvation through religion.

The Church of Saintland is an established Church and attendance is mandatory, so priests have a very high status in the Kingdom. The clergy is considered the most important profession as it is their job to explain God's will to the masses.

The clergy are part of the government, and are viewed with reverence and respect, if not a little fear.

What clergy?
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

hi!

"What is/are these/this "clergy" you speak of?"

The Republic of Pantalleria has three seats in the religious sector of the country's Religious Council. The seats are for the Anglican majority and Catholic and Protestant minorities. To maintain fairness, whatever religious legislation has to be voted by the council, a two thirds majority is at least needed to pass or repeal a religious legislation, so even though Anglicanism is the majority religion in the country, it has the same voting power as the Catholics and Protestants.

It depends. There are quite a few jokes about pedophilia and outdated morals.
There are so many horrible carricatures of Germany on NS, allow me to present my own! Free NRW is my home Bundesland as an independent nation. Think Bonn Republic, not Kaiser- or third Reich.
