Most destroyers carry them, but that's because modern ships have the modern electronics to actually spot targets for them. And they're not wasted on coastal patrol either, as submarines don't normally encroach too close to shore where the water gets shallower, the surface traffic more frequent, and their maneuverability options become limited. So not only does your ship lack the electronics to use the torpedoes, it won't likely encounter a target that it needs to use them on in the first place. Just because the ship comes with them doesn't mean you have to waste money modernizing a system you don't need. Strange as this may sound, you could remove them you know.

Why does a Destroyer you're using for coastal patrol need anti-ship missiles?

Wait, why are you using a Destroyer for Coastal Patrol anyway?! One from the 1940's at that. A dedicated Offshore Patrol Vessel would perform the job of coastal patrol much better than a glorified museum ship.

This i agree.

We aren't really expecting it to be used under fire anyway, only when there is air superiority as it is always escorted by Fighter planes.

It's more of a ground attack rather than aerial attack.

We have many classes of Warships. Perhaps I'll simply place the most commonly used ones from weakest to strongest?

PICWs - our most common warship. It is most oftenly used to invade at a planetary or 'global' scale. It has two hundred antimatter cannons, over five thousand small laser/ion cannons, and FTL speeds beyond what most Warships of others are capable of.

ACW Fleet.Our second most used Warship, the ACW is a beauty. Capable of 15FTL speeds and numbering weapons that would scare the living f-ck out of anyone, it is also our second strongest. Not much is known besides anyone unfortunate to meet an ACW is most likely DEAD.

The WH Warships are very rarely used, considering they're massive. By massive, I mean they are approximately the size of what would normally be considered a fleet of warships. We only have 50 WHs in existence, and someone has yet to survive an attack from one.

This is not my field I'm better with planes, but I can convert the Kiev class to aircraft carriers very easily, so that might be a better idea

That was the last thing on the designers' minds. Kirov was made to fit within the Soviet Navy's strategic goal, which was to keep the US Navy out of its waters. Therefore, it was designed almost entirely as an anti-aircraft and anti-ship platform. It was never designed for land-attack and would be inefficient at it at best.

Thanks. It's one of our more awesome ships, as it isn't too small, and it isn't too large. It's just the right size to scare people, and just as easily can be used to invade them.

The problem with the ACWs is they're obviously more designed for a post-modern human group who likely found some amazing engine/anti-gravity tech that enabled them to make space-ships (which is more or less precisely what the artist was going for, having seen that and others like it on his dA account); much of the tech still is quite apparently modern rather than FT. Most importantly - the bridge is placed along the external hull, rather than being protected, due to lack of modern advancements allowing for effective piloting of a vessel internally. It's possible, sure (even with modern ships, not having a super-fancy Secondary Conn which would rely on phonetalkers as "eyes"), but not 100% practical with video-feeds as of yet. The Explorer (or Armageddon as you call it) depicted follows those same lines.
