lol package carrier groups

What would, in your opinion, make for a good fleet/flotilla/carrier strike group? I'm going to buy lots of new naval ships. Money is no objection. And is there a storefront here that sells aircraft carriers?

I have 6 carrier groups that I can sell you for ~$15 billion each, if you're interested. Each group contains:

• 1 x Nimitz-class supercarrier:
  • 48 x F-35C
  • 24 x EA-18G EW aircraft
  • 6 x E-2 Hawkeye AEW aircraft
  • 12 x SH-60B ASW and utility helicopters
• 3 x Arleigh Burke-class DDGs
• 2 x Virginia-class SSNs

The actual value of all that is close to $24 billion going by Wikipedia, but I got them off GE&T awhile ago from someone who had no idea what they were actually worth, which is why they're so cheap.

You could make the Model 1602s. They're, basically navalized F-16s. I would recommend the F-14 (if you could get them... idk how "realistic" you want to RP your arms acquisitions) over a navalized F-15 though.

unf vought 1602 doesnt share any parts with F-16 besides some avionics iirc

Vought's Model 1600 was the straight up navalized F-16. 1602 would've been a highly evolved variation that used a bomber engine and have radically different size of components.

F-15N was a handwaved backup proposal that didn't get anywhere near as far.

yes, and as a result it was entirely different

about the only thing shared would've been the planform and radar

even the 1600 couldn't use F-16 assembly lines it was also too different, but it at least shared an engine

I basically said f*** it and had my nation develop a naval strike version of the F-22, the F/A-22, because thebF-35 seems like it's going to a pain in the ass to keep working. Their numbers are supplemented by aircraft of original design also. I'd rather not risk the F-35 yet.

Mitigate risk by scrapping an aircraft that exists and replacing it with one that exists only on paper.

Are you a certified DOD acquisition expert by any chance?

F-35s are still plagued by bugs of various types. Using an existing, working airframe seemed like a more logical choice.
