Battleships, here's your problem.

My idea of a modern battleship is essentially a much more powerful Cruiser,

Essentially I imagine them as keeping their forward 16 inch cannons, and in the back you put a section for helicopters, and a section for missiles, maybe a tiny section in the front for missiles, then you replace all of the outdated AA guns, and replace them with Missile Launchers, and CIWS. and also make sure that you have them in the front , and rear of the ship too.
It may be a bad plan, or a horrible idea.

Multiple problems, why keep the 16 inch guns? They aren't going to see much use, they have a shorter range and less accuracy than a missile.

Why not have more, smaller, vessels? Which can be distributed to cover more area, who don't cost as much to build or operate meaning they are more acceptable to loose.

the AK130 is an idea shore bombardment weapon, it has a very high fire rate, its very accurate and its shells are powerful

I have a modernized not!Kongou-class modernized and refitted with missiles made for offensive picketing. I sortied her out with 2 DesDivs to screen enemy cruisers looking for my carriers. She just engaged, and sank, two Slava-class and crippled a Kirov-class. In the process, her machinery was crippled beyond damage controls repairing capabilities. I tried attaching an emergency rudder, but threw it in some violent evasive maneuvers and she's now stuck in a tight left turn. Over the course of two hours she traded fire with a third Slava, and took another two P-700s which all but destroyed her engines. She's pushing 7 knots, and it'll take an hour for the rest of the fleet to show up.

I refuse to scuttle her.

And also since they are a hybrid system between rail gun, and standard firing, they have a large range, but I am still working out the details.

We do have more smaller vessels.

30 destroyers, 15 cruisers, and one battleship, or carrier

Dude, seriously. Yamato was shorter than the Iowas, all 24 Essexes, the Midways, and every other US carrier since then.

Yamato is ridiculously over-hyped. She is famous only because she had the biggest guns of any battleship ever, not because of her accomplishments of prowess in battle. Yamato accomplished literally nothing over her entire career. Seriously, read the "service" section of the Wikipedia article. Worst is the Battle off Samar, where she was sent running by essentially a single destroyer.

It's also worth noting that Yamato had a very powerful AA armament, with 162 25mm guns in 1945.

• 2 x Mk 143 ABL - 8 x TASM
• 4 x 32-cell Mk 56 on-deck VLS - 128 x ESSM
• 4 x Phalanx/SeaRAM CIWS

The Mk 41 modules take the place of 6 of the Mk 143 armored box launchers (the two aft most launchers are retained). The Mk 22s will replace the remaining six 5"/38 turrets.
