Defcon In Your Nation

[Fatatatutti]

In the event of an invasion or other "serious incident", the Air Cavalry Brigade will be one of the first responders. Each of its eight regiments has two peacetime battalions (expandable to a wartime footing of four battalions). Each battalion has four companies of which one is ready to deploy within minutes, one is on standby (ready to deploy within hours), one is on backup (ready to deploy in a day or two) and one is off duty.

Brigade commander General Marie-Louise Castro-Stalina sleeps in the dormitory of the AIr Cavalry School at Brigade Headquarters. During high alerts, she sleeps on a cot beside her desk in the Operations Room. (The general is a very operations-oriented officer who virtually lives in the Operations Room when she's at Headquarters.)

Formerly, the Parachute Army was the high-priority first responder and its units have similar alert plans.

Really Evil has several numbered and color coded DEFCON levels.

DEFCON 5 - GREY - Peace time

DEFCON 4 - WHITE - Military put on standby

DEFCON 3 - RED - Declaration of war sent/received. Military deployed. Reserve forces on standby.

DEFCON 2 - DARK RED - Global-scale war. All branches of the military deployed. Reserves deployed.

DEFCON 1 - BLACK - Nuclear launches detected. WMD usage authorized. VIPs into bunkers. Civilians told to evacuate cities and head for bunkers.

DEFCON 0 - BLACK+SKULL - Threat of extinction. Government continuation programs enacted. Ark protocol enacted. Civilians told to head to Ark sites.

Bereia uses a system of five stages of alert, the "classical" system. Each level is assigned a color, a code name, and a general level of readiness.

DEFCON 5 - "FADE OUT."

Regarded as normal conditions. Low readiness.

DEFCON 4 - "DOUBLE TAKE."

Mild increase in force readiness. Enhanced alert.

DEFCON 3 - "ROUND HOUSE."

Increased readiness and mobilization of reserves. Air Force & certain Navy elements ready to deploy within 15 minutes.

DEFCON 2 - "QUICK-TIME."

U.S. Armed Forces mobilized to full readiness, with designated elements ready to move out and engage within six hours.

DEFCON 1 - "HAMMER DOWN."

Use of strategic arms is considered imminent. Key personnel have been evacuated to designated VIP shelters for security.

- Defense Condition Five - Peacetime, normal military activities.

- Defense Condition Four - Small increase in military (and intelligence) activities.

- Defense Condition Three - Abnormal increase in the availability of the national military forces, abnormal increase of military activities in the country.

- Defense Condition Two - Only when the reached level is inferior or does not meet sufficient requirements to be Defense Condition One (Maxium level). This status was never oficially declared in the history of the Birneheim Federation.

- Defense Condition One (if this status is declared, pray for your life) - Maxium alert level, accepted the deployment of all available forces. It is reserved for activated before an impending attack against the Birneheim forces or against its territory by a foreign military force and authorizes the use of weapons of mass destruction

South Minorqa uses the popular JG system, which stands for Jinggao (警告).

JG9-Green: Peacetime.
JG8-Blue: Reports received. More soldiers patrolling the streets. More intelligence activites. Waters closely guarded.
JG7-Orange: Reservists called to arms. Possible attack. Navy and Air Force on standby. Citizens lock all doors and retreat to basement.
JG6-Yellow: Attack looming. Air Force, Navy patrols. Citizens retreat to Underground Safe Passages. Lockdown on all major passes.
JG5-Red: Conflict Taking Place. Citizens to receive orders by radio. Full-out attack on the enemy. Nuclear weapons on standby.
JG4-White: WMDs used by enemy. WMDs of own forces deployed. Forces all in action.
JG3-Brown: Enemy advancing on Sheung Hoi or Freecapitale. Government documents destroyed and citizens to form resistance groups.
JG2-Pink: Enemy besieged Seat of Power or Peoples' Capital. Cities captured, citizens pray.
JG1-Purple: At least 89% of citizens captured. Government decides to persist, issues warning to citizens still not captured to run to Oligarch Pass where they will be escorted to safe countries.
JG0-Black: Government surrenders. Citizens told to continue the fight.

1 - Black: Nuclear/chemical/biological warfare. Civillians evaucuated, everyone is hiding in adapted bunkers.

Monkey- Training is intensified 10 fold

We have not reached Tiger level in sixteen thousand years, since the Twelve Masters and Grand Master Gu first founded Shengxiao.

We don't use Defcon. We use CARPET (Code of Attack Readiness and Protocol, ET cetera), because we're special. It has five levels - Tranquil, Mild, Fair, Tense and War. Each level is worse than last.

We use a light-spectrum based colour code.

RED - Business as usual.
ORANGE - Potential threat. Tension abroad.
YELLOW - Defensive strategies are being created.
GREEN - Strategies implemented. Training increased.
CYAN - Border control increased. Active war abroad.
BLUE - Active war at home.
VIOLET - Nuclear/chemical war.
PINK - Conquered.
WHITE - Devastated.

PMT: Confederacy of Meritocratic States (2043)

A Tactical Alert Level is an alert state used by the Meritocratic States Strategic Defense Forces. It prescribes five graduated levels of readiness (or states of alert) for the SDF, and increase in severity from TAC-LEVEL 1 (least severe) to TAC-LEVEL 5 (most severe) to match varying military situations.

DEFCON C-Border troops are prepared while scout recon units are regularly sent to enemy territory. Communication intelligence (COMINT) and Electronic signals intelligence (ELINT) units are also prepared to monitor the enemy. Medium state of readiness
DEFCON D-Intrusion of aircrafts/vessels from foreign nation. People should lookout for foreign intrusion. Low state of readiness.
