IRL: Hell no. Corrupt and ineffectual officials, lack of disaster preparedness and a broken democratic system, the Philippines is horrible. But the people are nice, non-assholes, so that kinda makes up.

NS: I would say yes, because the government provides everything. They provide education, healthcare, law and order, equality and defense. The government is lead by intellectuals or at least people smart enough to advance through the ranks of society. Taxes are high, but you won't need too much cash because every essential service is provided by the government. A dictatorial communist meritocracy, that's what we are.

No, actually. The Freemasonic States of Utopaea is a kind of "Freemasonic Dictatorship", although not exactly. IRL: Well, I'm a British citizen living in the USA. Taxation without representation. The irony amuses me, but neither are anywhere near being describable as "utopia". Utopia isn't possible while humans remain human.

Ehhhhh... It's designed to be a decent country but it wouldn't be workable IRL at all, it would have been invaded or manifest destiny'd long ago due to the lack of military strength. That, and one bad king or queen could theoretically spoil the whole system, so it for the time being would be a decent country and a utopia to those who agree with its ideals, but in real life it would simply be too hippy-dippy to get by.

Under optimal conditions, we considered ourselves a utopia for intellectuals until our ongoing civil war shattered what was left of our potent housing after a prior invasion by anthrocidal beings decimated our world: We had top-class universities, churches, mosques, synagogues... Absolutely not. We are a nation that realizes that sacrifices must be made for the good of the collective. However, the living standards of our nation are many times better than that of other Post-Industrial nations. It's a trade off. We don't have very many Political Freedoms and Civil Rights are just slightly above average. Homosexuals are treated like garbage and transgender operations are illegal. But if you're a heterosexual Ulvenan Pony or Human, there's no better place in the Universe to go than Ulvena.
