Black Ops 2 is a mockery of firearms, and I have never seen a more backwards assumtion of firearms. As are most Call of Dutys.

Please, do not use weapons fron the Call of Duty series. We prefer to see people who genuinely have no idea what they are talking about make an effort so we can HELP them, rather than simply take an idea from another person and use it. Such as the Desert eagle guy we felt with a few days ago. We are here to help you make your small arms ideal for a real worl situation. In a way.

Well, I did find a better looking design that I personally like. It doesn't help I'm a rookie when it comes to firearms.

I need to finish that assault grenade launcher at some point. I also need to draw 81mm knee mortar, autocannon SAW and RCL to go with rest when I can be bothered.

I'm a little confused by Zeonic's statement, as various battle-rifle sized weapons have chambers around an inch in diameter, with bull barrels to match. The FAL is circa 28mm, I believe.
Since early 20mm is fairly analogous to GMG I believe, you might be looking at GMG-thickness barrels.

I think Purp's MG is more like an anti-tank cannon than GMG.

Indeed. It's quite literally a maxim gun firing solid 2cm bullets. No HE or anything like that. Just a really powerfully machine gun.

The idea of my designers at the time was that it would be mounted on pillboxes and such and used to gun down enemy infantry at ranges beyond what their rifles could reach or something zany like that. Now obviously that is not exactly smart given the thinking of the era (or at all). And my army of course thinks the inventor is quite mad and rejects it. But the inventors wife is related to Lord Windir who is related to the Arch Duke and Lord of the province of Windir so as usual some arm twisting occurs and the army eventually adopts this weapon. So it sits in army stockpiles for about a decade in very small numbers until WW1 starts up. Than it keeps sitting in stockpiles because again it is just a dumb idea until one day tanks show up. Suddenly the army needs a weapon, any weapon that can kill these landships and as it happens someone gets the idea to take out the old 2cm machine guns out of stock. And the rest is history.

I am looking for the cartridge now. Something suitably 1900's. But no there is no comparable weapon in my army other than the regular maxim in 7.5 Swiss. And that is hardly comparable.

Also 3 inches thick? That is like a 75mm thick wall??? Or was that 75mm total diameter?

total diameter of the barrel; And you can look for yourself; they had a speicialized vickers back before they reconverted it to Aircooled that had that thick of a barrel; People are surprised by it now but they need to relax apart from multiple barrels or water cooling thicker metal on the interior of the barrel meant more rounds could be fired before it had to be cooled and stopped being used.

The brits had the right idea even if it had the gun a bit heavier.

Neither of the weapons you posted meet both of those. If you want a bullpup semi-auto rifle, find a semi-automatic AUG. If you want a .45 ACP handgun, use either the M1911A1 or the HK USP.

My main theme of the country is a semi-futuristic race of Night Elves with remnants of their old magical society that they are abandoning at an increasing rate. In some regards, they're more futuristic, while in others they aren't as advanced yet.

Here I am thinking it was IC, silly me. So, fictional guns are acceptable if they're realistic. I'm going to learn from my mistakes and think this through.
