For the most part, booze in a combat zone in CEV is seen as a sign that one is a weekend warrior, not a full-time soldier. The full-timers leave the alcohol in the base.

If it affects readiness it's usually not permitted, on top of the fact that from 18 to 21 you are property of the Government for your mandatory 3 year service only after are you considered an adult in Coltarin.

Tankers used to make alcohol in some units. They would take the parts needed for it from other soldiers, and make. And then consume.

Alchol is just part of the food pyramid for some.

Of course i later learned that was a assumed statistic from a list of generalized violent crimes.

Still Those statistics don't paint the best of pictures; I was saying that i believe the Pro Gun lobbyists don't have much fear in this regard.

Semi Automatics already beat a case brought to the supreme court i believe; No reason this will overturn that.

The problem with statistics and gun laws is that they aren't done in a vacuum. Look at Britain after the 1988 Handgun ban gun crimes rose for a few years but have since begun to drop. However is this because guns are banned or because of crack downs on gangs, or other legislation? How about with the repeal of the handgun ban in Washington DC, crime rates appeared to drop, however was this citizens having guns or police stepping up other activities.

Studies have shown (and I would love to find them again) that they do make your home safer, even without having to kill the intruder or even discharge the weapon; higher rates of licensed concealed carry does reduce the length of shooting sprees and as consequence, gun free zones are dangerous entirely for that reason; with more than 275mn firearms in legal circulation, there are only 9-13k firearm homicides per year - just five times as many deaths per registered gun in England and Wales (NI apparently has 22 guns per citizen, 25% that of the US - its number of firearm homicides per registered firearm is a little over 25% of that of the US). I think that last point is pretty remarkable, actually.

I may have some issues but gun's don't turn me into a Murdering nutjob; Killing random people who don't threaten me? I don't see how some folks can do that personally.

Honestly people just need to accept that a gun is a tool and it requires respect but just because something horrible is done with that tool does not negate it's place in society.

I will say something my CO told me once; Eh forgive me if i bastardize it a bit but its been several years.

"People don't understand that the Army is made up of soldiers not men, We try to make men into soldiers. Train them to fight and kill and survive any conceivable situation. We teach them to respect their Weapon, country, the chain of command and most of all themselves."

I later questioned him on that i think; Why he would include weaponry along with country and higher ups and etc? I don't recall rightly what he said but it was inspiring at the time i am sure!

Well the whole point of aircooling was to cut down on how thick the barrels needed to be yeah?

Not really. The barrel itself is almost entirely a function of round pressure, the water cooling was just a barrel jacket. It was mostly weight rather than size considerations, and the barrel itself would probably be mostly unaltered.

I'm still amazed how yourself, Anemos, Galla and dozens of others (even myself) can draw some amazing works and still not like them
