It's a 5.56 mm PDW. Basically a bullpup M4 with a 10 in barrel. A really small subcarbine. Isn't it almost the same size as the P90? Without the awkward reload or tiny ammunition?

Anyways, if you want something with holster capability, look into machine pistols or small PDWs/SMGs. MP7 might work since it can be used as a pistol. There's other options too, particularly things like the G18 or Beretta 93R.

And in NS i can field more then a dozen aircraft carriers and launch more then ten thousand fighter craft all within my countries budget in wartime.

Sounds like something some folks would be interested in but not me; I prefer actual rifles generally over these competively smaller ones; Maybe because i don't have a need to put a rifle into my pants there is no market for doing that to do me.

Didn't care for the 90 for a varient reasons; And the round was one of them. Anyway Subcarbines and PDW's are the future according to some folks but i honestly doubt the assault will just up and disapear inside twenty Years like some folks predict.

The P90 and PDR were designed so that they could be carried with minimal interference in terms of both weight and bulk.
They're made for people who don't have the space to carry a proper rifle - such as a tank or helicopter crewman.

Didn't say your comparison was bad or anything. You can compare a PDW to both an SMG and an AR, due to size and cartridge. It's basically a mix of both.

The first usage I know of was by the US army when they were looking for a personal weapon for helicopter pilots. That was in the early 70s, IIRC.

SMG's tend to be smaller then AR's, thats why they used to be used for vehicle weapons. PDW's have been taking that position in recent times.

5.7 is a brilliant round that the 5.56x29 was a dusty failure!

My only problem with issuing the P90 is then I would be tempted to use the FiveSeven pistol, which I don't want to use because 10mm auto!

SMG's tend to be smaller then AR's, thats why they used to be used for vehicle weapons. PDW's have been taking that position in recent times.

Well Finnish M/44 "peltiheikki" ("tinman") wasn't much shorter than AK. (stock unfolded that is)

Closest would be assault rifle, but they are much smaller and use different cartridges that would be to small for a rifle.
SMG doesn't work because it doesn't use pistol cartridges.

Because the first PDW that I know of was a 9mm pistol that was to be issued to helicopter pilots instead of the standard issue M1911. Or, in other words, because the US Army likes buzz words .
