Effective? Not so much. Cheap? Definitely. Sarin or a similar nerve gas will probably provide better cost effectiveness, but even then it's only marginal against properly prepared troops.


And highly dangerous, highly corrosive, not very cost effective gases are?

If it's the "main military weapon" it's probably not used "if necessary" but rather "all the time".

Besides, it's always best to simply kill all the cities with poison gas and incendiaries, really.

So one thing that struck as odd about this one (apart from it was made by Malaysians and that it's pretty horrendous) is the placement of the sight. All things considered, it doesn't look so uncomfortable to hold/shoot.

I dunno, I've not actually been able to shoot a gun (preemptive shut up) so maybe that isn't true and it's actually extremely uncomfortable to shoot.

I imagine that thing would be quite nice in that you no longer need to lower your head to the level of the typical rifle's sight level any more (well, not as much as usual). Now firing from the hip is a (remote) possibility...

That said, it looks like something somebody put together in a garage somewhere. Very boxy, lots of what's probably sheet metal... it's probably a decent firearm, but it doesn't have the trappings of a modern day rifle (aesthetically speaking anyway).

The LSAT Program would like to disagree with you, it's tests have shown that it has better heat reduction than a brass case. With the recycling it doesn't deform that much.

Actually, one of the advantages of polymer cases is that the polymer will isolate the heat transfer from the cartridge to the chamber, resulting in a cooler chamber.

And I learn something new again. But... I'm still a stickler for the tried and true.

Again was talking to a buddy today and we were going over the diffrence between "Tactical Combat Shotguns" And "Riot Shotguns" And Ultimately both agreed that their weren't very many both were designed to hold more rounds then one made for hunting and while i stated that tactical combat shotguns wouldn't be used in the defensive role riot shotguns fell into that's more of an application rather then by model or design.

I also stated the lack of range compared to combat shotguns, but overall found them fairly similar in design and application but also pointed out that combat shotguns were in my opinion superior and operated on a Military design pattern unlike many riot shotguns, Aka Bayonet attactment room and heat shielding over a barrel.

Riot shotguns generally don't carry such features.

I would imagine a combat shotgun was a bayonet-mounting 12-gauge high-capacity shotgun, while a riot shotgun may be 12ga or wider bore, and always pump-action (or in some other way non-automatic). Since 40mm GLs can have less lethal options, I guess they could count as hilarious 'riot shotguns'.

I would have used a G36C front sight, if you're using a G36C sight rail. I don't know about other types, but you certainly couldn't fit an AK-type sight there.

BTW in regard to your 44mag rifle there isn't any poitn in having more than 18" (441mm) of barrel and in fact you would be as well maxing out at abaout 15" (381mm) at least according to the results recorded by the BBTI team: http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/44mag.html

Any glass capable of surviving those gees is too expensive to bother.

I would imagine lead or fragmenting rounds would be just as effective, if not moreso.

From what I see the iron sight is actually only a little higher than what a normal sight would be sitting at. I have never been able to figure out the rest of that wonky carrying handle thing.

Stylish sure but unless if you are a billionare and not giving a crud in what you use as far as rounds in self defense i wouldn't bother.
