In Sturm-Scheiterhaufen we use a modernised STG-44 (now called the STG-96) modified to fit our countries .45 NVL cartridge and keep up with modern assault rifles with stats now on par with the G36 rifle.

Try mixing them up. As in the wood from the bottom on the rest of the top and the other way around.

NC. I just did some swapping out on my own PC to test my theory and I think you should consider swapping the woodwork out on the two guns. The red looks amazing with the light gray and the dark brown much better with the black.

The problem is that that redish color (old version) is a texture, and does not keep the gradient. I might lighten up the gradient to be similar to the texture...

I just swapped the two files out in paint.net using layers and it worked fine. Cut the wood off one and the other (they are misaligned horizontally by about 5 pixels by the way) and swapped them out. I know it ain't exactly flash worthy but you can import it into flash and use it as a texture no?

Maybe I was unclear: gradients, like in the furniture up top, cannot be applied to textures without translucent layers, which is a pain in the ass and looks shitty. I want the gradients, because otherwise the stock looks flat. What I think I will do is create the texture myself, using a graduated color as a base. But I'm too lazy to do that right now.

I understood you. But for some reason the flat red looks better to me with the gray background than the graduated brown. I think that the light gray makes the flatness pop out and become far less flat visually. So it actually looks as if it was graduated even thou it is not.

My plan is to color the brown more red, maybe paint in the woodgrain. I like the reddish furniture, it's become a sort of Cordian trademark, like plumb furniture.

That much I did not know. But I do love red furniture as a whole. It just makes things look so much better. I have been thinking of redoing my Rifle Felix series in red.

Not necessarily. I kind of like them. Speaking of that you know a lot about guns right? What colors of wood have historically been used for the furniture? I know about red and some shades of brown (how many?) but that's it.

I stumbled across Pimp My gun today and decided to use my horrible knowledge of modern firearms to make an assault rifle. I know without a doubt there are problems with it, which is why I ask for some help on it. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism please.

Why does it protrude so much?

Also, the foregrip shouldn't be layered underneath the rail system.
Also, the magazine is just too big for that gun.
Also, the grip (the pistol grip, not the foregrip) you chose covers the symbol on the selector. You're going to want a grip that doesn't have that thing that curls up.
Also, the rail cover you have? Get rid of it.
And move the scope up.

Something like this? (yes the mag is too small, I forgot to fix that).

Also do you know how to save these on PMG so I don't have to keep rebuilding these from scratch? Also I am aware some parts are missing, I'm new to this.

That's a lot better, but here is some stuff I have to say about it:

The magazine you chose? Perfect. The gun itself is obviously based on an HK 417 so you might want to go with the SCAR-H 20 round magazine, but the one you have is fine.
The rail system you have only really looks good when it's on the 417 itself, so you'll probably want to go with a system that doesn't have those gaps near the left edge. There is one that is longer, I can't remember the name of it now.
Other than that, you're going to want to move the flash hinder over about a centimeter so you can't see the little part of the barrel, and you may want to shrink the stock slightly so it fits on the receiver nicely. Other than that, you're pretty much good.

EDIT: When you think you're done, go to File and hit Export. Copy that code and paste it into a text document. When you want to resume working on it, just copy the code from the document, hit Import, and paste it in there.

It will become a buyers market as far as the person to person sector goes. Lots of selling lots of undercutting.

Anything that contravenes the terms of the ban as a pre-ban article will be grandfathered as an NFA item and cannot be sold.

Isn't there usually a loophole for preban firearms?

Like I said, not this time.
You can still own them, but you'd have to fill out so much paperwork in order to be allowed to continue ownership. And, as I just said, they can't be sold as NFA items.

Not really. They're more difficultly machined and you can't reload them. They can be made to withstand the pressures of firing just fine.

Speaking of that, I've become a little concerned about whether polymer cases can be recycled like brass ones, for reasons of economy.

Recycling polymer cases? Wouldn't the heat sort of deform polymer cases? Granted, brass cases expand as well, but they can be resized and annealed to remove any stress. I somehow doubt that's possible with polymer type casings...

There's also the slight problem of heat as well. Polymer casings don't remove heat from the weapon well at all, which could lead to some unfortunate cases of cook-off, especially in closed-bolt automatic weapons.

Polymer cases could be used in military applications (where lighter and cheaper is the order of the day), but the civilians will tend to stick to the reloadable brass.

Actually, one of the advantages of polymer cases is that the polymer will isolate the heat transfer from the cartridge to the chamber, resulting in a cooler chamber.

Re-colored my RP-1898. Thoughts?

The top one is the recoloured, isn't it? Looks more realistic, it's nice. Plus I loved it anyway.

EDIT: Was re-directed here, so you may see this post on the Creating You thread

Is "a lot better than much of what comes through here" constructive criticism? The size of the magazine would imply a battle rifle cartridge, and possibly a large one at that.
The way to 'save' on PMG is to go to 'export' and then 'export code'. It will save to your clipboard the code in PMG that the gun takes up. Save it as a notepad file (notepad does not alter the formatting or symbols of code, itself being a code-based programme), and then you can go to PMG 'import' and presumably copy the code into there, to pick up where you left off.
