It would appear that things have gone beyond pants-on-head retarded. We have reached condoms-on-toes levels. Apparently, anything with a detachable magazine will be considered an assault weapon, regardless of magazine size. This effectively bans the Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic rifle.
So, yeah: all ye' Stateside, please write your appropriate representatives and tell them just how stupid this law is.

In all seriousness, are they counting handguns in that? Because banning every fucking pistol in the world isn't going to help anything.

The RK 62 or the Rk 95 Tp (not entirely sure on what the differences is), how is their accuracy compared to let's say other AK like guns and/or AR rifles?

Differences in 62 and 95 are mainly in aesthetics and how the sights are adjusted. Plus 95 has muzzle brake and slightly more mass in effort to slightly increase accuracy and side mount for optics as standard feature.

They have nothing to be ashamed of in accuracy department.

Yes you could, but that's going a bit beyond what's necessary. Once you get the equivalent barrel length, you'll want to try and reduce the overall length as much as possible.

The L86 does feature a heavy barrel with a support and integrated bipod, so it will be heavier. A bullpup rifle (as opposed to LSW) of similar size will shave a kilo or two.

Also, comparing the accuracy of a 5.56 AR platform versus a 7.62 AK platform is like apples and oranges man. Two different bullets with completely different structures.

True though the AR-10 is 7.62×51mm NATO so that would be a better comparison.

7.62x39mm and .300 Blackout would be a better comparison.

I don't know what their accuracy, but you could probably make it almost match grade and still have a very reliable rifle (just look at the SIG 550). Apart from that and the thumbhole grip, it all sounds good to me. You might even want to send Hurtful Thoughts a message and see if you can license his 6.5x55mm round. It's a real performer.

Thumbhole stocks do no allow the soldier to switch firing shoulders easily, if something breaks you're replacing the entire thing instead of just the stock/pistol grip, they take up more space, and buttstroking would be more difficult, I would imagine.

For anyone who was thinking about adopting the AN-94 as a main service rifle, I will now give my take on it.

he AN-94 is a very cool rifle to a lot of you. Maybe because its the obscure future rifle shrouded in wonder, maybe its because it looks like the classic Kalashnikov had intercourse with a modern M16 or other black rifle. Maybe its just the whole want, but will never have thing. Well, here is what I thought of it.

The Akaban is one of two things, a mountain range in Siberia, or a medium sized river. I don't know where the namesake came from for the AN.

It uses what is called a blowback shifted pulse (smeshchonnyy impuls svobodnovo zatvora) to fire two projectiles, in theory giving the operator the ability to punch through body armor as two rounds offer something of MRSI. The recoil is comparable to an AK-74 series of rifles.

The magazine and well are bent off to the side at about 10-15 degrees. This is used due to the odd feed mechanism.

Now that is all information available in various sights, but time for first hand stuff.

I noticed three things about the rifle immediately
1. It has a very light front end
2. It felt a bit flimsy compared to the AK-74 series
3. It fit me and my body very well.
I felt comfortable with it, but I had an issue with the slant of the magazine.
The rifle is much more complex than the standard Kalashnikov. A regular army would need some time to familiarize himself with it, more than an AK. The parts are all well tuned and built, but in your mind you worry of something can go wrong, or has, more than with the Kalashnikov. Maybe that's because it does not yet have the reputation however.

The rifles accuracy is beautiful, able to hit man sized targets with those two rounds in relative proximity to each other out to 300 meters with ease, far more accurate than the AK family. The sights are MUCH nicer. Its ability to accept a bayonet and grenade launcher is nice, but useless in some respects. It makes the weapon very front heavy.[/

Not a lot of difference. The only reason we have 7.62mm rounds today is because they're 0.3 inches in imperial notation.

I'm just thinking. If we used 7.7x55mm rounds instead of 7.62x51mm rounds in machine guns, sure recoil would be a bit higher but destructive force would increase as well. And recoil doesn't really matter that much if you're mounted on a Humvee.
