Yes; see the reinforced section under the charging handle? It's different between the two. This is a Saiga. The Vepr also has a stamped rectangle at the bottom rear of the receiver cover.

I think the British police have something called a Baton rifle. Shoots a rubber round at about 158m/s or so. That might work for your...ahem...totally legal needs.

I just ripped it off google. Its a Vepr look alike Saiga-12. It has one of the magwells, a new handguard, a SVD stock (I think Mississippi auto arms makes them), and a rallied dust cover (vomit).

I just ripped it off google. Its a Vepr look alike Saiga-12. It has one of the magwells, a new handguard, a SVD stock (I think Mississippi auto arms makes them), and a rallied dust cover (vomit).

Nothing wrong with a railed receiver cover, as long as it's done right;

In fairness, the cover on that particular Saiga looks like it might be one of those dogleg-style locked covers rather than just rails on the normal cover.

Same goes for water cannons.

Why not take a few steps closer and shoot the baton rounds at them again and kill them with it?

It's modelled after a UK-legal Vepr-12 shotgun. I imagine the excessive length (27") is to comply with some obscure shotgun hunting law that then permits you to own a magazine-fed semi-automatic combat shotgun.

IIRC the minimum length for a shotgun barrel under the shotgun certificate is 24" and the same applys for the Vepr-12 despite the fact that its needs a full firearms certificate thanks to the detachable magazine.

of course 24-30" barrels are pretty much the norm on most non-tactical/home defence shotguns anyway...

It's obviously going to blind and deafen the shooter and anyone within visual range, I was wondering if it was possible for the shot cup to blast out at some madass angle since the end of the shell, which basically unfurls (and sometimes shreds under the firing pressure), is no longer cocooned in barrel.
