Im pretty new to Nationstates, and I know I cannot list my current leader, however, I would like the community to see my first factbook entry, which is supposed to kick of an epic campaign trying to rebuild my countries rights. You can read the entry here, or click the link at the end to read/rate it.
"On the day of December 13th, President Lamar Swistka was impeached by the Ivory Rhodes Parliament. After several years of abusing the civil rights and political freedoms of the Ivory Rhodes people, President Swistka was brought before a newly and secretly elected Parliament on charges of such. By a unanimous vote by all 100 members, Swistka was found guilty of abuse of civil rights, treason, corporate fraud, tax evasion, manslaughter, and bribery. It is believed that thousands have died due to President Swistka's new laws and self-proclaimed leadership after his 4 year term ended. Not only this, but Swistka was also found guilty of selling government lab reports to enemy countries, and bribing corporate lobbyists. It is not known if President Swistka will resign, but it might be so.
We talked with James Hansel, the leading supporter against Swistka, who told us "It is finally nice to have order, and the pressure is on Lamar to resign, and we hope he will." Hansel also said that "we're not sure if we can ever rebuild what has happened here, but we will do our best to try."
The new Parliament is mainly focusing on how to rebuild the rights of the people in a short time, while keeping the economy as it is. Sources indicate that new advances in science and technology will help push the overall rating of civil rights. For now, we must wait and see for what is to come."
