NATIONAL COALITION COLLAPSES IN PEOPLE'S SENATE, POLITICAL SHAKEUP INBOUND
Members of National Democratic faction withdraw from coalition as others vow vote of no confidence

Via the Bendigha Political Monitor - In a surprising turn of events in Bendigha today, members of the National Democratic faction of the General People's Senate -- based in the Ministry of Internal Affairs building pending repairs to the General People's Senate building -- have not only announced their withdrawal from the AL- WATANIU government coalition (headed by President Ahmet Boudjera and PM Farouk Benboulaid), but have also announced that they will be putting forward a motion for a vote of confidence against the administration.

Citing recent military mishaps and blunders over the course of the Islamic collectivist uprising in the Nabaghasset region - specifically, in and around the towns of Abu Kaqiya and Almoustarat - as well as an inability to effectively lead, gather foreign support, and protect the Rifati Republic from internal and external threats, Tawriq Abu Samad (de-facto leader of the National Democratic faction) told reporters from the Bendigha Political Monitor that the coalition would be henceforth 'withdrawing from the AL-WATANIU coalition government.'

"While I do respect both President Boudjera and PM Benboulaid, as well as sympathize with them for the tough situation that they have been faced with, I must say candidly that I feel that they can no longer lead the Rifati Republic successfully. This is not a decision that I, or anyone else within my faction, have made lightly. It is, however, the decision that has been made." Abu Samad was quoted as saying, closing the impromptu press gaggle shortly thereafter.

The departure of the National Democratic faction has dealt a significant -- if not fatal -- blow to the Boudjera-Benboulaid administration, which has so far been withstanding both quiet political departures from their coalition as well as calls for their resignation. Members of the opposition Steadfast faction have reportedly seized the opportunity to plan and put forth a motion for a vote of no confidence against the administration. Badr al-Neman, the de-facto leader of the Steadfast coalition, told interviewers with the Bendigha Political Monitor during a phone call today that the current administration 'has completely and totally lost the faith of the people' and that 'it is now the duty of the General People's Senate to remove the current administration.'

More on this story as it develops.

Drought to continue into October, states meteorologists, provokes further rationing
Image
As the drought continues and rations increasingly dwindle, how will Pisdara react to one of
the longest and hottest heat waves in recent memory?

Speaking at a conference in Huimont today, meteorologist Dr. Josseline Rossignol stated that the current drought seizing Pisdara is expected to continue into October, with no end currently known. With recent temperatures reaching as high as 60 degrees in early September, the current drought may not end in October, as previously predicted, and extend as far as November. This has made the drought one of the worst heat waves to hit Pisdara is recent years, with a staggering record high of 70 degrees for most of August (which is usually on average around 47-50 degrees). The extension of the drought has caused yet more strain on Pisdara’s limited water resources, as communal councils have once again tightened rationing in their jurisdictions. All but one of the communes have gotten rid of the priority towards farmers in order to save water (a Socialist Farmers’ councillor in Eduru was able to sway the town council to keep the program), and it seems if the current weather keeps up necessary services such as clinics and schools may be forced into rationing water as well. As of now, fifteen people have died from heat exhaustion and dehydration since May, when the drought was officially declared and a state of emergency called.

The extended drought has caused anger in many people, especially from farming and fishing communities on Imana and northern Pisdara Island. With farms now subject to rationing, and the threat of government services being next, many have called for further action on the issue. Exacerbated by crises such as the 10 June tidal wave, which severely damaged Urudaggi’s and Mira’abak’s storage and water pumps, the drought has re-entered the national discussion as the impact has begun to be felt. Federal reports on tourism and exportation released last week uncovered a drop of 33% in tourism from last year and a large drop in the export of sugar and tobacco, devastated by the drought’s long stay.

The government has in response to the extension of the drought have repeatedly called for caution while outside, as well as recommending staying indoors, hydrated, and wearing appropriate levels of sunscreen and sunblock.

DIVIDED TOP CRIMINAL COURT REINSTATES DOBREV SENTENCE

Image

social media photo
The Republican Court of Cassation has reinstated the conviction of Linda Dobrev, the controversial Luziycan commentator whose unprecedented extradition and trial in Ainin for hate speech has made global headlines.

The country's highest criminal court, in a divided opinion that saw seven of its 20 judges dissent, overturned a lower appeal court's finding that prosecutors had not proven that she was guilty of hate speech under Aininian and Esquarian Community law. Writing for the majority, chief magister Denise Faille wrote that her speech was "hateful beyond any imagination" and "created a real and present incitation to violence and social disorder." She rejected the lower court's finding that the extradition violated Esquarian Community human rights law, finding that the victims of the crime being Aininian citizens alone was enough to establish jurisdiction, despite the fact that Ms. Dobrev had never previously visited Ainin.

As a result, her convictions on one count each of inciting hatred and advocating violence against an identifiable group have been reinstated. Her original sentence of 18 months' imprisonment was also reinstated.

In a statement, the office of the Citizen-Procurator for Risagne expressed its satisfaction with the Court of Cassation's ruling, calling it a "vindication of human decency."

Ms. Dobrev's legal team, led by veteran civil rights attorney Benoît Parmentier, expressed its disappointment with the ruling and has vowed to challenge the circumstances of her conviction before the Esquarian Court of Human Rights. The court, which as an Esquarian Community institution is supreme over domestic Aininian courts, is widely expected to accept the landmark case.

LOTBINIÈRE APPROVAL RATING FALLS TO 35%

Image
File photo of Prime Minister Marianne de Lotbinière
Marianne de Lotbinière's job approval as prime minister has continued its downward trend since the June tidal wave that claimed the lives of 3,157 Aininians and the confusing, unprepared government response that followed the disaster.

According to the Métropolitain-STA Politique "poll of polls", Lotbinière's approval rating has slipped from a pre-wave average of 52.3% in late May to 35.0% in the first week of September, a record low. Pollsters attribute the slide to the widespread association of ineffective tidal wave relief measures with her administration, along with a fatigue amongst her Social Democratic Party's base due to her government's refusal to push leftist policy in order to cater to its centrist coalition partner, the Citizens' Alliance.

This mirrors a similar development in Namor, where President-General Shohai Antelope suffered an even greater loss of popularity in the aftermath of the natural disaster of 44 points, going from 86% to 42%. Political leaders around the Central Ocean basin have been accused by citizens of providing inadequate preparations and relief, leading to unnecessary deaths and suffering.

Lotbinière's administration has especially been marred by her 2016 decision to cancel a program that encouraged local officials to update civil defence preparations, which critics claim could have saved lives if implemented before the disaster. She has also been associated with many drowning deaths in towns where local officials, allegedly following hasty instructions from the Ministry of Public Safety and Civil Defence, activated air raid sirens and ordered hundreds into subterranean bunkers that promptly flooded.

While the numbers seemed dire, there was a glimmer of good news for her government. A recent RMG-Canal 2 poll indicated that 55% of Aininians support her decision to intervene in Mazaristan, and that supporters of her foreign policy in general outnumbered opponents by a margin of two to one. Also, despite her personal unpopularity, voting intentions remain unchanged with the SDP continuing to enjoy roughly a 1.5 point lead over the Citizens' Alliance.

RISAGNE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER

Image
In a meeting on Thursday, the Electoral Commission approved a timeline for a return to civilian government in Risagne province.

Risagne was badly affected by the Central Ocean tidal wave, which devastated many communities along its northern coast. The torrential waters particularly devastated Fort-Françilien, the provincial capital, and swept through the city's government district, crippling provincial institutions including the legislature, the court system and several cabinet ministries. In addition, provincial premier Marie-Pierre Wampley perished when waves swept over her family's ancestral manor, which was located in the heavily-damaged Iles du Médis archipelago.

Other victims of the floodwaters included public security minister Marc Séguin, who would have lead the province's emergency response, Martin Chiang, the provincial legislature's speaker who remains in a medically-induced coma after being critically injured in a tidal wave-linked building fire, and nine provincial lawmakers. In the immediate aftermath, the decapitated provincial government had struggled to mount an effective relief effort and was suspended by Prime Minister Marianne de Lotbinière under public pressure.

Since then, the province has been under a state of martial law and governed by Lieutenant-General Pierre Desjardins, commander of the Fort-Françilien-based Second Army. While the move proved effective for managing the immediate response to the catastrophe, calls have grown in recent months for a return to civil government, especially among the business interests of Risagne's unaffected largest city and economic capital, Port-Denise.

Under the recently-approved plan, the Risagne Assembly will be dissolved and a fresh election will be held on October 6th. After a new government is formed, the national government and the military will gradually return power to provincial authorities. Due to extensive damage in Fort-Françilien's government district, including the destruction of the Assembly's meeting hall in an electrical fire, the new session of the legislature is expected to meet in Port-Denise until a new meeting place is built in the province's northerly capital.

The Social Democratic Party, which has governed the province for the past 37 years, is expected to face a strong challenge to its grasp on power from the separatist Mouvement Risagnois, which has gained strength due to widespread perceptions that the national government botched relief efforts. With its leader of the past 12 years deceased, the SDP is expected to nominate current deputy premier Claude Vaillecourt as its standard-bearer into the vote. Whether the party will continue the longest period of single-party rule in Aininian history by maintaining its slim majority of two remains to be seen.

The opposition Mouvement Risagnois, a staunchly left-wing party that advocates separation from the Aininian Republic, has enjoyed a surge of momentum coming into the campaign. Its candidate, the outspoken veteran opposition leader Marcel Laurent, has refused to rule out an independence referendum despite warnings from Huimont that such a move would be divisive and illegal, but maintained that his party's priority would be to "bring real change to Risagnois' lives" and that "talk of independence can come later."

A recent TVL/Sentinelle poll placed SDP support at 41.5% and MR support at 40.9%, well within the margin of error.

BREAKING: CHAOS IN AD DAGA AFTER APPARENT FIREBOMBING OF UNIR EMBASSY
Diplomatic District on lockdown following conflagration at UNIR embassy, casualties unknown

Image
Emergency services are still investigating the cause of the firey explosion. (© ToAD)
Via the Times of Ad Daga - Emergency services in the Diplomatic District of Ad Daga believe that the explosion that ripped through the area at around 3:05 AM was that of a terrorist firebomb, the Times of Ad Daga (the capital affiliate of Hunawiyah News Media 24) has learned.

According to Aamir el-Barakat, Chief of the Ad Daga Municipal Fire Department, and Muammar Hussein, the Police Commissioner of the Ad Daga Municipal Police Department, the conflagration was 'the deliberate result of the use an explosive device, possibly thermobaric in nature, within the complex itself.'

As it stands currently the Diplomatic District of Ad Daga is under lockdown, with the adjacent embassies being evacuated of all personnel and all embassies nationwide placed under a tight watch by armed guards. Hunawiyan News Media 24 must take a moment to state that such actions are merely precautionary in nature and that there is no known conspiracy against any other embassies in the country. However, relevant precautions must be taken by all.

Members of the Ad Daga PD report that there are currently at least 18 confirmed fatalities as a result of the blast, while there is an as of yet unconfirmed estimate of at least 50 embassy personnel having been injured by the bomb. The official diplomat to Hunawiyah from the UNIR, the recently appointed Kutlu Hamzaoglu, is reported to be accounted for. Meanwhile, the official Envoy and Charge d'Affaires, Erdinc Seker and Rahbar Bakshi are both unaccounted for.

As of right now the Bureau of National Intelligence, which has taken charge of the immediate stages of the investigation due to its nature, is reportedly looking for between one and one-half dozen masked individuals seen loitering around the embassy in the hours preceding the blast.

President el-Hatem has reportedly spoken to the UNIR President Volkan through 'secure diplomatic channels' and has already sent his condolences to the Union. According to a transcript, released to the press by the Office of the President and Prime Minister, President el-Hatem decried the bombing as a 'heinous and reprehensible act of terrorism,' adding that 'we stand with the Union of Nautasian Republics and the rest of Nautasia in shock and mourning over these events'...Click here to expand.

MINISTRY OF DEFENCE ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL DEPLOYMENTS/AID TO MAZARISTAN
Defence Minister Bandar al-Saah announced that military assets and aid will be moving into Mazaristan

Via the Hunawiyah Military Press Service - Hundreds of thousands of pieces of military equipment, truckloads of food aid, and hundreds of Hunawiyan soldiers will soon be embarking upon the long march south into government-controlled Mazaristan, Hunawiyan News Media 24 has learned.

Today, following a daily press briefing in Ad Daga, Defence Minister Bandar al-Saah announced additional troop movements, equipment, and humanitarian aid would be moved into Mazaristan to aid and assist government forces as they retake vast swathes of the country from rebel militias. "As combat missions in Mazaristan ramp up," Minister al-Saah was quoted as saying. "it's becoming ever more important that we give the Mazari government the equipment, support, and aid that they require bringing their civil uprising to its ultimate conclusion."

The deployment is another move by the President Mishaari el-Hatem and Prime Minister Daif al-Kassem to reinforce the Mazari government and expand the Hunawiyan role and footprint in its civil war.

The move comes as the Ministry of Defence announces that two soldiers of the Hunawiyan Republican Army were killed and at least six others were wounded after a terrorist suicide bomber (utilizing a VBIED) struck their convoy outside of the Mazari village of Juhabarya. The Ministry of Defence has refrained from naming the martyred soldiers, out of respect for their families, until the next of kin have been notified.

The move also comes after three UNIR-Irvadi citizens and at least six soldiers of the Mazari Army were killed via artillery barrages following clashes in the south of the country. Tensions remain high between the UNIR and the Mazari government of Yusuf Nasr after the incident, with the UNIR choosing to keep at least 25,000 soldiers stationed along the border with Mazaristan for 'security reasons.'

The Ministry of Defence, as well as the Offices of the President and Prime Minister were quick to point out that the deployment does not constitute support in the UNIR-Mazari crisis and occurs under pre-existing bilateral...Click here to expand.

SUBVERSIVE RLM LEADER APPREHENDED BY RIGHTEOUS SECURITY FORCES
Following a daring shock raid on a foreign-funded RLM base, Lhakpa Nyima has been apprehended by security forces
Ladumra, Tinza | September 08, 2017

Image
Lhakpa Nyima, known under the pseudonym "Phu-bo", was a known Narmadan-funded violent subversive element

LADUMRA - Jubilant news from the office of the State Security Forces today as they report that the well-known and much hated subversive leftist terrorist known as "Phu-bo" has been apprehended by our righteous police forces.

After nearly a decade of leading the Narmadan-funded unpatriotic subversive element known as the "Revolutionary Labour Movement", the despicable rabble-rouser was finally brought to justice in the early hours of this morning after a daring raid on the main RLM base in Sprakhams district. After a glorious battle in which our righteous security forces were victorious, Phu-bo and numerous other RLM officers were apprehended, and are now awaiting righteous justice in high-security prisons.

In the aftermath of the raid, the cowardly Phu-bo has been revealed as Lhakpa Nyima, the son of a carpenter from Hwalho village in Lhogrong district.

Having heard of the daring and righteous raid by our brave security forces, the State Preceptor's office has released a statement, in which the State Preceptor congratulated the security forces for "safe-guarding our Eternal Realm" and for "bringing these reckless country vagabonds to justice". The statement went on further, stating that "the apprehension of this devious individual - alongside his heinous conspirators - has brought us peace for our time".

With the capture of their leader, expert officials have announced that the Revolutionary Labour Movement and it's lackluster "insurgency" has truly been put to an end, and that any threat that remained from their weak movement has - with this action - been eliminated completely. "It is a great victory for our nation, and a victory in the name of our glorious Everqueen and her State Preceptor" one official said. "Soon enough those heinous mountainmen will realise that their insurgency is bound to fail, and that they will only have prosperity if they come to join us in peace and stability" he added.

While he has been apprehended, officials speculate what his righteous punishment will be - as he is evidently guilty. One official hopes that he will be executed to "set an example" to the remaining RLM membership. Others wish for him to be given the chance to repent at one of the nation's many 'Enlightenment through Labour' camps. Others still maintain that he should be held in custady to draw the remaining RLM members out of hiding.

Regardless of his punishment, his capture marks a new era for our great nation and it's leadership. Glory to Tinza, hail to the Everqueen and her State Preceptor!

PRESIDENT VOWS TO DESTROY CALIPHATE SLEEPER CELLS
President vows to avenge the five Aininian soldiers killed in bomb attack
Image

Jalawla - President Yusuf Nasr has vowed to continue efforts to root out and defeat terrorist cells operating in the capital. His television address follows a vicious bomb attack on an Aininian military vehicle which killed five soldiers. At least 36 terrorists linked to the so-called Caliphate have been captured by the Special Response Group. He has ordered a nationwide hunt for other cells operating in government-held territories.
In his address to the nation, President Nasr paid tribute to the Aininian soldiers, saying “the Aininians who perished on our streets are heroes and martyrs. They died in a far-away land for a cause far greater and nobler than the terrorists who murdered them.”

He condemned the attack as the “cowardly action of pathetic men who face imminent destruction at our victorious hands.” The president also vowed to expand the SRG’s abilities to confront sleeper cells, which have struck mercilessly at innocents in recent weeks in liberated areas.

“We will continue to strengthen and empower the Special Response Group, we will make the masters of the anti-terrorist hunt. Wherever these enemies sleep, we will find them. No cell will be safe, no terrorist be a takfiri dog or a traitor, he will be found and destroyed for betraying Islam and the nation” he said.

He also condemned the actions of the Druze Autonomous Council and the so-called Popular Liberation Front; an alliance of Arab Socialists, Syndicalists and individuals who apparently seek “democratic change”, which has launched rocket attacks on government held towns across central Mazaristan.

“The Druze Autonomous Council continues to pump out falsehoods against the nation, claiming criminally that our brave soldiers have massacred their women and children. I ask for proof, I ask for the DAC to prove it. But I say this, the government which protects them and feeds them will not tolerate their warmongering or the arming of their men and women” he said, in reference to growing reports that Druze separatists have gained influence over the DAC, securing weapons from the black market.

“To the Popular Liberation Front, I say that your tactics are as vile and foul as the takfiri, no claim by you to be syndicalist or socialist will cover you for your actions or the fact that you are terrorists. We will destroy you just as we will the extremist takfiri, we will be victorious and we will unite our nation” he said further.

At least 38 civilians were killed by PLF rocket fire on the towns of Babr Saham and Askasiyah. The Mazari Air Force promptly bombed PLF positions, killing many traitors and destroying vehicles.

The Mazari Army has secured a string of victories against the so-called Caliphate this year, re-taking the length of the southern border, shutting off the takfiris from their forces in former Irvadistan. Now, the armed forces seek to advance through central Mazaristan to the west, finally destroying the Caliphate enemy. With the support of both Ainin and Luziyca that eventually now stands as inevitable.

With the terror group facing destruction, the government now seeks according to the Interior Ministry, to “cripple their influence in liberated regions, swiftly and without recourse”, a spokesman said following the president’s speech.

More on this story as it develops.

A STATEMENT ON THE BEHALF OF THE IMPERIAL HOUSEHOLD OF HIS HOLY AND EXALTED PERFECTION

To all whom the Holy and Exalted Ditu’s heavenly wisdom may be received…

It has come to the attention of His Holy and Exalted Perfection and his humble imperial government that there has been considerable failings in the preservation of peace on the great northern continent.

The Son of Heaven wishes to inform of the Xiaodongese polity of his intense displeasure towards the familial peoples of Tinzan Eternal Realm. Such pointless aggression and hostility is one usually reserved for people's lesser than the kin of the Akai but perhaps the injection of barbarian ideals such as the dysgenic and denigrating republicanism which has been proven by the scholars of the court to encourage unsagacious thoughtless thinking. The abandonment of such measures despite the wispy nostalgia one may regard such territories would be for the betterment of all parties who may not wish to incite further tensions in the region, especially given the ambitions of the State chairman as of late.

This thusly allows the servants of The Lord of Ten Thousand Years to convey his tremendous pleasure on the subject of the righteous actions of the leaders of the land of the Three-band Dragon Kingdom against the preserve blight that is the syndicalist cancer occupying the Narmadan territories. The action against this vile scourge whose disgusting habits such as the complete rejection of divinely created organic hierarchy, the sapping the order of society through the expansion of its barbarian ideals, and rejects its society for a global vision of inferiority beneath a red shaded lord whose interests are the destruction of all that is beneath heaven. Thusly the turpitude of the syndicalists can be further contained.

It also is seen to be the case that His Holy and Exalted Perfection, the Yinmi Ditu should announce two noble events which should bring tremendous pleasure to all faithful and loyal to the father of mankind.

The first of these is the dual naval practices which shall be occurring in waters considered by the foreign peoples as international. In particular the First Heavenly Fleet which shall be led by the Destitute Imperfection Grand Carrier, shall begin exercises in the Central Ocean to further refine our capabilities in the region. They shall be present there until the completion of their series of war games. His Holy and Exalted Perfection seeks the refinement of many techniques proposed by his humble advisors and ministers, whom he consults deeply and often. He will grace the Destitute Imperfection with his presence along with his three cherished wives and his admirals.

This presence is also to be paralleled with the operation of Slumbering Thunder, one of our submarine-cruiser vessels who shall begin operating in the international waters in the Voragic ocean, east of Min and south of Xiaodong and Senria respectively. In this particular manoeuvre the nuclear armed cruise missile submarine is merely testing its operational abilities in such waters and will not disturb matters of foreign realms less perturbed or required to do so. The crew is especially talented, with the sublime technology of the submarine in operation shall ensure the polite civilisation which we all desire.

The second announcement is that the testing of the Unfathomable Revengeance nuclear device has been successful, further demonstrating the almighty power of His Holy and Exalted Perfection and the majestic skill of its creators. It should be noted that device was detonated over the Kengese desert at Zi yesterday morning. It was launched into the air through our ingenuity of the Strategic Artillery Unit and had a megatonnage of 42 — effectively ensuring Akai’s mastery over of the nuclear device. This was followed by the detonation of six comparably smaller directed nuclear charges specific targets which were swiftly vaporised through the condensed and directed blast. His Holy and Exalted Perfection safely viewed the testing and is especially proud of this particular demonstration of supremacy.

Minister of Roads and Infrastructures announce the "Energy Transition Plan" of the Cabinet.

Sanji Unithuripti, "Kuraka Choari o Zui" (Minister of roads and infrastructures) wish to see a slow but steady transition toward sustainable energy in Karazawa

Image

In front of the Assembly, the Minister Sanji Unithuripti undisclosed the "Energy Transition Plan" that his department have been working on since the start of his mandate. It is important to the young politician as the Yrateq was clear when he announced one of the main mission of the Department of Roads and Infrastructures in his Cabinet would be to "see to the current status of Karazawi energy production and consumption and to propose a plan to reduce the Caconzicua dependency to fossile energies in the years to come."

And so, more than a year after the election of Obraq Sokkan as Yrateq by the Assembly and the formation of his Cabinet, this famous Plan is finally revealed to the honorables Guatchi, the Deleguates of the people.

The first part of the Energy Transition Plan is a detail of the current energetic situation of Karazawa. 70% of Karazawa energy is produced by thermal power stations, with fuel and coal central being the majority of theses systems. Of the 30% left, the two-third is hydroelectricity produced by the Caconzicua's numerous dams. The rest come from "green" energy such as solar and eolian energy.

"After many researchs and studies" Mr.Unithuripti announced "we came to the conclusion that a slow, measured, but steady change in our public energy system was possible. This will be done in two ways : first, the construction of new dams to exploit the energy of our numerous rivers, especially in Este Pais that currently possess a high energetic potential that is left unused, contrary to the Erechi Mountains ranges. However, the development of hydroelectricity production in theses reigons is still possible, using "run-of-the-river" systems to accomodate for the numerous natural lakes of our plateaux without provoking the unwarranted destruction of ecologicaly rich regions. Some of theses new type of dams will be constructed in the Caconziche Suyuu (Royal Province, where the Zacapatu district is located) itself. To complete those constructions, we also wish to see the apparition of tidal power stations in many Karazawi harbors."

"The second part of the plan is the development of geothermal energy. Karazawa is a volcanic region, and the earth might become the main source of electricity for the future generations of the Caconzicua. Already in use, we wish to see most of our older power plants replaced by such models, to reduce our demand in fuel and coal. If the Energy Transition Plan is voted by the Assembly, we estimate that in 10 years the part of non-sustainable sources of energy in our system will be of less than 40%."

"Another important part of our plan is that we wish to see the Karazawi people participate in this process of modernisation of our nation. As you can see, private individuals building on public domains will be de-criminalized if it's for the construction of micro or pico hydrolic stations. This will allow for regions far away from the centers of our civilization to develop themselves and to join the rest of our country in its march toward the future."

Immediatly, this text has been heavily criticised. For its cost first, millions will have to be invested in the constructions of new infrastructures, but Mr. Sanji Unithuripti assured that there will be able to make a benefit, as older and costly fuel and gaz plants will be replaced by relatively low-cost hydrolic stations. "In the long run, it will be a net gain for the Caconzicua".

Other raised questions about the ecological impact of this new plan, especially of the new dams. Once again, the Minister claimed that "everything has been taken into consideration to limit the ecological impact of the Plan." But to the question of if the government wouldn't choose the economy over the ecology if a choice had to be made, Mr. unithuripti bluntly answered "yes.", puzzling some of the journalists.

No matter the critics, the Yrateq Obraq Sokkan decided to go through with this Plan, as one of the best chance for the modernisation of Karazawa and it's economical development. Betting agencies seems to think the Cabinet still has popular support and consider the odds of manifestations with more than 10000 peoples in the street to be "very low".

ELSBRIDGE, SATURDAY 9 SEPTEMBER, YEAR OF OUR LORD 2017 AD
"OUR TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY WILL NOT BE QUESTIONED"
CLEBURNE ISSUES STERN WARNING AS SWARTCLETTER IS REINFORCED

HACKENBECK, NORTHUMBRIA - Following up on the icy Austrosian response to the Swartcletter oil field discovery, President Cleburne warned that the Confederal Republic would "stop at nothing to protect our nation's economic interests, given that those interests are our natural rights," threatening that any hostile move made to take possession of the Vaer islands would be met with unequivocal force.

The President made his speech during a session of the House of Burgesses, concerning a proposed expansion of defense spending. The timely address, asserting the nation's unity in the face of adversity, was met with great applause from both the government benches and the President's Most Loyal Opposition, with a similar response from television viewers. "The Confederal Republic has never wavered from the visions of our great founders of Gorham, Asquith, and Pinckney. Our strong individualistic work ethic is a hallmark of the Ambrosian drive for economic progress, and it is this that God has seen fit to bless us with our monumental petroleum discovery in the Vaer. Today, foreign adversaries test not only our right to commercial independence and self-sufficiency but the indisputable sovereignty of our Union itself. I have a message for those who wish to do harm to our businesses and our workers, who are free from the evils of unionization and syndicalism: our territorial integrity will not be questioned."

The strong rhetoric, praised by many both in the military and in the Conservative Party, is a staunch rebuttal to the moves made by Worker's State of Austrosia earlier this week, which responded to the monumental and potentially-commercially-viable petroleum discovery with renewed hostile claims over the Vaer island chain. Austrosia, which, like Ambrose, has historically attempted to build up their oil and gas self-sufficiency, with varying success, also eyes the field for potential exploitation, according to reports from the Confederation of Energy Workers' Union. Earlier this week, Krimwalt Kaltempach, the Austrosian Workers' Commissar for External Affairs, declared the contested islands to "have been and always will be an integral part of Austrosia," calling the democratic Ambrosian administration of the island "historical treachery."

Despite these dishonorable accusations, the Vaer islands and the majority of the oil fields lie in what is largely-internationally-accepted as the Ambrosian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). General Esquarian Petrol, the Luziycan corporation which made the oil discovery last week, issued their own rebuttal to the Austrosian claims, calling them "uncivilized" and "unsurprisingly, contrary to the right of free enterprise," and supported the President in his response to the aggression.

However, many critics of the Cleburne administration have attacked the president for his words. "Though the President's resolve is admirable, it underscores the fact that Ambrose currently has little capability of successfully fighting a defensive war against Austrosia," commented Frederic Guthrie, a Reform Party Burgess for Peel Godred North, who served as the Undersecretary for War under the Kettering administration. "The fact is that our brave servicemen the Confederal Armed Forces are trained with ancient equipment in obsolete tactics with the intent of fighting a Nordanian war thirty years ago. It is inadvisable, if not outright dangerous, to posture in such an aggressive manner on the world stage while our preparedness to defend our territory at home is faltering. No one is, or should be, more acutely aware of this situation than Mr. Cleburne himself."

These defeatist claims were outright rejected by the Department of War, which supported the President's 'aggressive posturing'. Secretary of War Nathanael Stratford announced the Department's decision to supplement the current Joint Forces command present on the Vaer Air Defense Station with an undisclosed number of AA-9 surface-to-air missile batteries, as well as pledging an increase in naval and air patrols in the area to "deter any attempts to contravene international law;" this included the transfer of the 19th Tactical Reconnaisance Squadron of I-27 Orel fighters to the nearest Aerial Corps base, ACB Barrow. He also warned that, if the threats continue, more deployments may be incoming. These deployments signal a slowly intensifying crisis, marking the first time such a large shift of forces has occurred at Swartcletter at one time.

The Austrosian ambassador to the Confederal Republic was summoned to a meeting with the President as well as with the Secretaries of War and of Foreign Affairs. Reportedly, the conversation quickly became heated, with Secretary of Foreign Affairs...INTERNATIONAL, 2A

Mazari Civil War Update: Regime emboldened but threatened by the Druze Crisis

Image

As 2017 sees the beginning of its end, Mazaristan’s civil war stands at a crucial juncture. The intervention by Ainin and Luziyca has been a mixed blessing, it has emboldened the regime, seen a solidification of its gains over the Caliphate, but brought with it, the real threat of intervention by the Union of Nautasian Islamic Republics (UNIR). The emboldening of the regime has now led to very dangerous tensions with the Dashtani and Druze minorities and eagerness by the non-Islamist rebels to use the intervention’s focus on Salafists to gain ground.

The Caliphate

Since the success of Operation Resounding Triumph (ORT), the government has continued to increase its territory gained from the Caliphate. ORT saw the government re-take the entirety of the southern border regions from the Caliphate, cutting the terror group off from its main strongholds in neighbouring Irvadistan. It did so in time to deny thousands of Caliphate fighters entry into the country, as they fled from the juggernaut advance by the then Ankoreni forces. The ORT was declared a success in July this year, it truly was.

Although the government suffered up to 500 killed, its pale in comparison to the 8,500 Caliphate fighters killed or captured. It was tarnish somewhat however, when 2,000 battle hardened Caliphate fighters broke through the border and returned to Caliphate territory, leaving 56 soldiers dead. These 2,000 veterans now head the best armed Caliphate units that have since repelled at least six government assaults toward the town of Beit Samad.

The terror group according to the Mazari Security Task Force (MSTF); the joint Aininian-Luziycan coalition command, is dramatically expanding fixed defensive positions across key points on the frontline. They have also noted that the “group remains incredibly resilient in face of the destruction it suffered in Irvadistan.”

It should be noted that even with the colossal levels of Luziycan support, the remaining Caliphate presence will be a bloody and vicious fight to destroy. They’re comprised of veterans from both the Irvadi and Mazari wars and with-it knowledge of how to confront conventional enemies. The group still managed to inflict over 5,800 deaths on the Ankoreni Islamic Revolutionary Army, as well as over 200,000 Irvadi and Koy deaths.

The biggest question over the Caliphate is not related to the Mazari government, but rather the Luziycan. Many are wondering how well President Agapov can effectively justify and defend the inevitable rise of losses, and if the Caliphate resorts to guerrilla warfare, rather than its direct quasi-conventional strategy, the Luziycans could easily become bogged down in western Mazaristan.

In response to its current inability to attack, the Caliphate has opted to use tried and tested methods of terror attacks. Last week they launched 4 major bomb attacks. One on Beit Tannoun, killing 26 people, another on Janiriyah, killing 16 people, one on Aitaroun killing 33 people and the most recent, a suicide bombing of an Aininian military vehicle in the capital, Jalawla, which killed 5 Aininian soldiers and two civilians.

The government in response has vowed to defeat Caliphate sleeper cells, but this takes time and requires hearts-and-minds.

Hayat Tahrir Islami/Alwiya al-Islam

Beside the Caliphate, Hayat Tahrir Islami (Islamic Conquest Committee) stands as the second most powerful force arrayed against the government. In 2014-15, they rapidly and ruthlessly destroyed the National Revolutionary Forces in the north. The NRF, like the Popular Liberation Front, was comprised of non-Islamist and moderate rebel forces and was a possible option for support by the liberal democracies of the advanced nations. However, failures to make gains and infighting eventually led to the NRF’s collapse into the HTI.

During the ORT, the HTI launched some minor but well executed attacks, seizing control of several towns east of Majdal Anjar, directly threatening the Christian and government enclave. They even advanced south, to directly threaten the Naqbarif-Saidoun Road, a major artery for government supplies reaching the western frontlines. Though they’ve opted so far to remain static, launching probing attacks toward Majdal Anjar and towns on the eastern side of the Suwayr River.

The HTI’s ally, the Alwiya al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) has taken to launched sporadic attacks along the “Northern Road” directly leading toward Saidoun, though the attacks have not resulted in anything substantial, many analysts believe that AAI is attempting to “gather intelligence of government weak spots, to launch an attack when the time comes.”

Expect, when the government launches an offensive against the Caliphate; that HTI will attack toward Majdal Anjar, or the Naqbarif-Saidoun road, while the AAI will attack toward Saidoun.
Popular Liberation Front of Mazaristan

The PLFM stands not only as the hidden threat to the regime, but the political trap for Ainin and Luziyca. Dominated by the Democratic Action Force and the Mazari Worker’s Brigades. The PLFM is not Islamist in any sense, its comprised exclusively of Islamic Democrats, Syndicalists, Arab Socialists and secular democrats.

Controlling to so-called “Coal Corner”, the PLFM is effectively controlling the entire south-eastern corner of Mazaristan. Its northern frontline is only 40km south of Jalawla, which has been used to fire rudimentary rockets into the city’s southern suburbs.

The PLFM frontline has been static since late 2016, after they captured at least three villages to the west, while it lost control of six towns along the coast. Though, since the deployment of the MSTF, Mazari Army sources have reported a dramatic jump in the use of advanced anti-tank guided missiles and an increased use of weapons produced in the UNIR.

Last Wednesday, six Mazari army personnel were killed when their transport helicopter was shot down by a shoulder-launched-missile, then on Thursday, 12 soldiers were killed in an ambush using IEDs and ATGMs, the ambush resulted in the loss of two tanks and four armoured vehicles.

What is more interesting, is the reported rise of graffiti in support of the Nautasian Freedom Defence Front being found in PLFM controlled towns. The border towns of Ain Aata and Ghajar are reportedly the home to two NFDF cells founded by young boys, angered even more by the deployment of “imperialist forces.” The arrival of the NFDF will surely alter the situation in the south-east.

The PLFM remains a Blackhorse and a wild card, be sure to watch any movement on their part.

Dashtani-Druze crisis

Despite the capabilities of the main rebel factions above, the biggest crisis facing the government has been its handling of tensions with the Dashtani-Druze community. Located exclusively in an enclave along the Irvadi border in a region known as the Tahmala, the Dashtani and Druze have been highly supportive of the government until now.

The Dashtani are an ethnic group closely related to the UNIR’s Pasdani, speaking a dialect of Farsi and being majority Shi’ite. The Druze are an ethno-religious group, with close ties to the Druze of northern Irvadistan.

Since the beginning of the civil war in 2012, the two groups have been close to the government, eager to offer loyalty in exchange for protection from the genocidal Caliphate. Following the Caliphate’s lightening invasion of Mazaristan in 2014-15 from Irvadistan, the two groups even formed a militia known as the Dashtani-Druze Protection Group, which was vital in holding the Caliphate back until the ORT was launched in early 2017.

Following the success of the ORT, in August the government requested that the DDPG disarm and disband, since the Caliphate had been pushed back. The Dashtani-Druze joint de-facto leadership, the Dashtani-Druze Autonomous Council (DDAC) refused, stating that it would do so when the Caliphate was finally defeated. The DDAC has consistently stated that it fears the Caliphate’s resurgence and retaking the southern strip of government territory, returning to the DDAC’s borders.

President Yusuf Nasr swiftly denounced the DDAC, accusing it of “being infiltrated by separatist extremists.” Contrary to his ravings, the DDAC has never issue a demand for autonomy or independence, merely to be safe from the civil war, owed most in part, to Nasr’s incompetence and corruption.

In late August, a unit of 150 Mazari troops were sent into the Dashtani village of Qasr-e-Tokam, there they demanded the village’s unit of the DDPG to disarm, tensions rose and a gunfight broke out, leaving 10 Mazari soldiers dead and six Dashtanis dead or injured.

On August 25th, in a widely reported incident, the Mazari Army entered the village of Beit Taloun, reportedly slaughtering 164 civilians. Survivors shared pictures taken on phones or eye-witness statements, showing what appeared to be Aininian special forces. The massacre, if it did take place, not only severed ties between the government and the DDAC, but enraged society in the Union of Nautasian Islamic Republics; it is this, that endangers the Mazari government.

On September 1st, the Supreme Assembly of the Union, the UNIR parliament passed a motion ending all forms of aid and cooperation with the Mazari government. This was followed by stray Mazari artillery shells (fired at DDPG positions) landing in Irvadistan, killing three civilians. The Islamic Revolutionary Army promptly returned fire with its own artillery, killing six Mazari soldiers.

UNIR mass rallies in support of the DDAC have grown in number exponentially, with 300,000 people marching in the northern Irvadi city of Sadus in support of the Druze. While the Union Republic of Pasdan has passed a motion banning all donations of aid to Mazaristan.

If Ainin and or Luziyca fail to alter President Nasr’s course, the growing conflict with the DDAC will draw in the UNIR, they will either being supplying the DDPG with capable weapons or systems, or worse, directly intervene to protect them. With 25,000 troops already stationed along the border for “Frontier Security”, the UNIR has the means, it merely needs the will and justification.

Prime Minister Marianne de Lotbinière and President Damir Agapov must take action to restrain President Nasr, if they fail to do so, the Mazari Civil War could easily escalate into a possible conflict between two established global powers and the rising regional power.

State President Volkan denounces Mazari attacks on Dashtani and Druze peoples
State President warns "Union won't stand idly by", as Foreign Minister warns that Aininian or Luziycan attacks will "dramatically change the Union's strategic position."

State President Evren Volkan speaking at the Dashtani-Druze Solidarity Summit in Zahedan today.

State President Evren Volkan has denounced the Mazari government’s continued attacks on the Dashtani-Druze Autonomous Council (DDAC), following the group’s refusal to disarm and disband the Dashtani-Druze Protection Group. Speaking to Irvadi Druze and Pasdani Dashtani leaders, he said the UNIR would “not stand idle as the regime of Nasr with the backing of Bethlehem and Huimont committed crimes against innocent and near-defenceless minorities.”

At least 130 people have been killed in fighting between the Dashtani-Druze Protection Group and the Mazari Defence Force. Fighting has been mostly sporadic around towns dividing the territory between the central government and the DDAC. Fighting follows reports of a massacre of up to 164 civilians in the Dashtani village of Qasr-e-Todam two weeks ago, which supposedly involved members of Aininian Special Forces deployed in the country.

Speaking at the Dashtani-Druze Solidarity Summit in Zahedan, State President Evren Volkan described the Mazari government’s assault on the DDAC as a “crime of unparalleled proportions.” Speaking further he said, “the Nasr regime has many crimes listed against it, its corruption, its abuse of Islamic clerics, its responsibility for the civil war itself, its selling of Mazaristan to Ainin and Luziyca, but its ruthless and barbaric assaults upon the Dashtani and Druze peoples exceed the criminality of all others.”

Also present at the Summit was Akram Aridi, the democratically elected leader of the DDAC. He spoke of continued attacks by Mazari soldiers, saying “we have been repeatedly attacked, villages have been flattened by artillery and now the regime is using planes to bomb us. Only because we refused to get rid of our only defence against terrorists.”

In late August, the Nasr regime demanded that the DDAC disarm and disband the DDPG, citing the success of its Operation Resounding Triumph, which pushed the Caliphate back from DDAC territory, and regained complete control over the borders with Pasdan and Irvadistan. The DDAC refused, itself citing a successful breakthrough of Caliphate fighters from Irvadistan back to their lines north of Jizan, as reason to hold off disbanding the DDPG until the terror groups final destruction.

President Yusuf Nasr personally raged against the DDAC in a televised address claiming the body had been infiltrated by “separatist extremists.” Attacks on DDAC villages swiftly followed, revealing that the Mazari armed forces are now waging a war on the Druze and Dashtani minorities because of the tin pot dictator’s personal vendetta.

State President Volkan described Nasr as an “unhinged threat to the very existence of the Dashtani and Druze peoples of Mazaristan, and that of all Eastern Nautasia.”

The UNIR has already ceased all aid programs and cooperation in counter-terrorism with Mazaristan, the Supreme Assembly is now set to vote on a motion to freeze all assets belonging to Yusuf Nasr and his lackeys located within the UNIR, this reportedly amounts to just over $3.4 billion.

The Popular Association for Nautasian Unification, the largest Pan-Nautasian civil society group in the UNIR, has produced a list of Mazari produced goods sold in the Union, demanding that patriotic and revolutionary citizens boycott these goods.

Foreign Minister Hüseyin Dündar who was also present at the summit warned that, “should the Mazari Security Task Force, that is, should Aininian or Luziycan forces directly support regime attacks on the Dashtani-Druze Autonomous Council, the strategic position of the Union will dramatically change. Not only will we re-address our views on their presence in Mazaristan, but our entire position on non-interference in the Mazari civil war will change.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Army has announced that it will increase its presence along the Mazari border from 25,000 to 32,000 over the coming weeks, as well as announcing that it will be deploying surface-to-air missiles and aircraft to deter Mazari provocations.

Siphrian Bombing – Bomber a martyr for Siphrian Islamic Collectivism

State President Volkan has described the man believed to be responsible for the bombing of an Aburrite temple in Siphria, which killed sixteen people, as a “martyr for Siphrian Islamic Collectivism”, while denying he had any connection to the UNIR.

“They’re claims of connection with the state of the UNIR is as expected as it is insulting, in attempts to blind their people from the government’s utter failures in all regards, they continue these conspiracies against the Union. Siphria is nothing more than a land of liars, cheats and criminals. They still produce lies without proof, no one takes notice of their lies” he said.

“While he acted alone, he did so in the name of the Bedouin, who like the Dashtani and Druze, face destruction. He is a martyr of all Bedouin and a martyr for Siphrian Islamic Collectivism” he said.

More as the story develops.

CENCO OPENS INQUIRY INTO TIDAL WAVE
NATURAL DISASTERS COMMISSION TO ASSESS GOVT PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE

Image
A resort in Ngam, Khao remains in ruins from the June 10 tidal wave.
Khao was among the hardest-hit regions in Namor.

September 11, 2017 (Namo) - The Central Council established a special commission that will provide a full account of the circumstances surrounding the June 10 tidal wave.

The Natural Disasters Commission was established amid growing public frustration with the slow pace of recovery from the tidal wave, which has claimed over 10,000 lives in Namor alone. The legislation that mandated the commission was sponsored by deputies belonging to both the government and opposition, reflecting support for a legislative inquiry from across the political spectrum.

"Ten thousand is an enormous number, even for a populous country like us. People have questions and they deserve answers. I think the number one question that needs to be answered is: 'Could everything have turned out differently?'" said Antelope Yigi, a Liberationist deputy representing the 2nd Legislative District and one of the commission's sponsors

Tuyet An, New Democratic deputy for the 23rd Legislative District, agreed.

"The administration has been telling the Namorese people they are handling everything well, but the polls hint at an uncomfortable reality. The most urgent task of this commission is to take a really hard look at the people in power."

The commission will consist of 21 members, with each party represented in the CenCo nominating three deputies to avoid partisan bias. All members will be formally appointed by the CenCo after their nomination. The CenCo has not set a date for appointments to take place, although it is expected to do so by the end of this month in accordance with the mandate.

According to the mandate, the commission will assess the preparedness of governments at the national, regional and local levels prior to the tidal wave, and the effectiveness of government response in the aftermath of the wave. It will compile its findings and provide recommendations if necessary in the form of a report.

The mandate does not state a deadline for the publication of the final report, which some of the commission's sponsors say may take several years depending on the amount of information that is revealed.

"The sooner [the report can be published] the better," said Tuyet, whose constituency is among several impacted by the tidal wave. "But what we need to recognize is that investigations are never short - it will take some time to produce an authoritative report."

In response to the commission, a spokesperson of the Executive House said President-General Antelope's administration will "cooperate with the Central Council to the fullest extent" to realize the commission's goals.

National scientific authorities issue report on algae petrol use
Quality of Tvrdjavist scientific innovation to be proved again to world
2017/09/11
The State Secretariat of Economy's Commission on Science and Technological Development has released the fifth report on the use of algae petrol across all fields, industrial, civil and military, in Razaria, with this the reliability and even superiority of the fuel will be fully proved and demonstrated to the world thus affirming the scientific might of the Tvrdjavist State and smashing imperialist myths and lies of stagnation and regression.

The report covers surveys and monitors on the use of algae-derived petrol in various fields and industries across Razaria from October 2016 to August 2017. The main focuses of the report were use in electricity generation, in manufacturing of chemicals and other goods and in vehicular fuel use, in addition to this the methods used to produce petrol from algae were given a further look in order to fully prove the undeniable validity of the work of the Fortified State's chemicals industry.

Data has been collected from a power plant that utilized the algae-derived petrol, a refinery where the petrol was produced, the status of 225 civilian vehicles and 493 military vehicles with their use of the fuel, and four factories that produced plastics and chemicals with use of the material. Workers, soldiers and citizens who were involved in the trials expressed great satisfaction with the quality of the fuel, while overall efficiency has been equivalent to the use of regular petroleum-extracted fuels smashing imperialist myths that improper production methods were used and caused downgrades in quality.

Overall the report validates, as with the four reports issued before it, the quality, reliability and authenticity of the algae-derived-petrol programme propelled forwards by the mighty scientific and industrial arms of the Tvrdjavist State. With the already excellent performance of this crystal of the brightest minds of the Razarian people at a limited scale, the eventual full-scaled introduction of the fuel to economic use shall see emergence of vibrance in the National Fortification and form a great blow against imperialist plots of denying resources for the development of our Bastion against their conspiracies.

Construction of 3 new algae farms authorized
Steps taken towards greater supply for indigenous fuel production
2017/09/11
The National Fortification Command has authorized the construction of 3 new algae farms in uninhabited humid areas in southeastern Razaria that span a total area of 32.4 square kilometers.

These algae farms will be constructed in an area proven ideal for growth of fuel algae while also being relatively remote from other human activity, as it is situated in a largely uninhabited area. The farms comprise plots separated by about twenty kilometers each, and are part of an effort to expand the supply of fuel algae for the ambitious project of building a wholly localized, national supply of petrolchemicals through deriving them from fat-rich algae.

Construction will begin very soon and workers as well as equipment are already arriving on-site, awaiting further instruction.

In addition, 5 existing algae farms have been scheduled for expansion by a total of 28 square kilometers to allow for higher production capacity. These expansions were authorized in light of these farms continuously performing excellently in production and the expansions were to allow for them to provide for the national fortification cause at greater capability.

These steps towards national economic, particularly industrial, self-sufficiency are taking place with accelerating pace, and indeed soon we may expect successive triumphs for Tvrdjavist ideology against its foes, corporeal and incorporeal.

Foreign Minister Hüseyin Dündar has arrived in Bethlehem for direct talks with Secretary of State Juliana Novak on the future withdrawal of Luziycan forces from Mazaristan. The Foreign Minister will also discuss bilateral trade and Luziycan assistance in the reconstruction of Irvadistan, in what is being billed as the “most frank and positive talks to be held bi-laterally.”
Foreign Minister Dündar arrived in Bethlehem at midday UNIR time, being greeted by the UNIR ambassador and Secretary of State Novak.

Prior to entering his vehicle, Foreign Minister Dündar expressed his intention to “secure a lasting agreement on Luziycan military forces in Mazaristan. While the Union fully respects Luziyca’s commitments and base holdings from the pre-civil war period, we will make clear our concern that a lasting presence of the force currently deployed, may well undermine the good work that Luziyca has undertaken against takfiri extremists.
“What we seek is an agreement that secures stability post-Caliphate in Mazaristan, but at the same time respects Luziyca’s already established positions. The Union does not believe in zero-sum diplomacy, only win-win. Our relations go far back, and they strengthen by the day. We seek to preserve that today” he told international reporters.

Luziyca deployed over 82,000 soldiers in the early summer in support of the Nasr regime’s fight against to self-proclaimed Caliphate terrorist group. The Luziycan force, which dominates the “Mazari Security Task Force”, which includes 9,000 Aininian soldiers, has seen bitter combat with the terrorists.

At least 18 Luziycans have been killed and 29 injured in fighting so far since late July.

State Councillor for Nautasian Affairs, Erdin Saçan who has accompanied the Foreign Minister, praised Luziyca for its actions against the so-called Caliphate.

Speaking after the Foreign Minister, State Councillor Saçan said, “the Union praises Luziyca and its fighting men and women for their sacrifice. They will be honoured as martyrs in the great fight against the forces of evil, that defame Islam and terrorise Nautasia.

“In Luziyca we find a strong and true partner in counter-terrorism” he said.

According to a statement by the State Council, the Union “seeks to secure an agreement or a diplomatic promise by the Luziycans that upon the defeat of all Salafist groups in Mazaristan, the 83,000 soldiers currently deployed in Mazaristan will be withdrawn. In exchange, the Union will be pragmatic to Luziycan suggestions. The Union is committed to diplomacy as equal peers and mutual beneficial interactions.

“The Union believes it vital for Nautasian stability, that non-Muslim and non-Nautasian forces deployed in Nautasia to confront terrorism do withdraw, otherwise the cycle of Salafist violence will continue” it said.
Also on the agenda is further bi-lateral trade and reconstruction of Luziyca. As of 2017, trade between Luziyca and the UNIR was valued at $14.3 billion, with the Union keen to increase that amount to $20 billion by 2022. The issue of reconstruction will see the UNIR delegation present areas of keen interest to Luziycan companies, including investment and joint-projects of Irvadi petrochemicals.

Mehrdad Shayasteh, a senior economist at Hayedeh Capital believes that Luziycan companies would be very eager to invest in Irvadi reconstruction, “as it stands, vast areas of Irvadistan have been flattened, what this effectively means is that the country is a blank slate. Major corporations from Luziycan could easily construct a presence in Irvadistan from the ground up, securing access to the UNIR market, which is 126 million strong and seeing major increase in spending power.

“Property development, industrial investment and naturally joint-projects to modernise and expand Irvadi oil industries will see huge returns in the short term in some cases, but definitely in the medium to long term.”
The Ministry of International Trade is reportedly seeking greater access for UNIR manufactured goods in exchange for Luziycan access to some closed-off sectors of the economy, including mining and chemical production. It is also seeking State Council support for opening the UNIR’s insurance industry to Luziycan companies.

Prime Minister: “We trust Hunawiya to bring justice”

Prime Minister Qassem Akbari has expressed confidence in Hunawiyan to bring justice for the criminal and vicious assault on the UNIR’s embassy in Ad Daga, which left 16 dead, including senior diplomatic staff.
Addressing the Supreme Assembly on the matter, he said “we have faith in our Hunawiyan friends to bring justice for the victims. We hope that they will pursue the murderers swiftly and without mercy, while we offer our full investigative support, the State Council believes them to be capable.”

The Hunwayian government believes that supporters or members of the so-called Caliphate carried out the bombing of the UNIR embassy, the General Intelligence Directorate has supported this case, claiming that it had intercepted messages between cells in Ad Daga and the terrorist stronghold of Khaybar in Mazaristan.

The attack on the embassy follows the GID’s success in foiling up to twenty terrorist plots in the Irvadi Union Republic, which would have seen horrific bomb attacks on civilians across the Irvadi state.

Head of the GID, General Naseem Fallahi in a written letter to the Supreme Assembly wrote, “the General Intelligence Directorate will continue to seek out and destroy all those who would harbour ideals or beliefs that would seek to destroy the Union. No Salafist takfiri will survive our fury, no inch of our nation will escape justice, that much we vow as the guardians never seen.”

ADMINISTRATION OF PRESIDENT BOUDJERA, PRIME MINISTER BENBOULAID FALLS
In stunning turn of events, National Coalition government to be removed following vote of no confidence

Senate after the vote's results. (© Les Tempes/The Times)
Via the Bendigha Political Monitor - The administration of Ahmet Boudjera and Farouk Benboulaid, voted into power not one year ago, has been removed by the General People's Senate via the passage of Resolution 829 -- a vote of no confidence against the current government.

In what many are calling a betrayal by some members of the Democratic Faction, twenty-nine members of the Faction voted with the opposition in motioning to remove the existing government.

Following an impassioned speech in the General People's Senate (the transcript for which can be found here) by Leader of the Opposition Badr al-Neman, in which he called into question former President Boudjera's leadership, strategic, and military acumen, the General People's Senate voted by a margin of 51 percent to remove the administration, thus marking the first time a sitting government has been removed by the General People's Senate (and thus the first invocation of Article 32 of the Rifati Republican Constitution. Special elections are to be held next week.

AWAY WITHOUT LEAVE: The mystery of Siphria's missing president

Image
General Selîm Helebceyî, who appears to have held de facto power in Siphria since Rizayê Qeredaxî's apparent
disappearance. Helebceyî is formally minister of defense and minister of foreign affairs.

If there was ever a time where Siphria needed a strong leader, it is now.

When General Rizayê Qeredaxî seized power in Siphria, he told the Siphrian people that he had abolished their democracy because the country needed a strong man- a military man- to protect it from its ever-militant, ever-belligerent, ever-expansionist neighbor Ankoren. "It has quickly become clear that the administration of President [Seyfedînê] Mistewfî- however well-intentioned- cannot handle this critical threat to the existence, and indeed the very survival, of the Siphrian people and nation," Qeredaxî declared in his first address as the unelected President of Siphria.

And in the months since, it could be argued that Qeredaxî's words have only come to seem more and more true. The threat of Ankoren- or, as it styles itself now, the "U.N.I.R"- has gone from being largely rhetorical on both sides, to deeply immediate and omnipresent. Hundreds of villages in northern Siphria have been evacuated following the unprovoked bombing of the town of Qurwe, which killed 34 civilians and wounded 37 more. A suicide bomber murdered fifteen civilians at an Aburrite temple near Kirranî, having reportedly been radicalized by "U.N.I.R" propaganda which urges the ethnic genocide of ethnic Siphrians and Aburrites. Reports suggest that the Siphrian army has begun adopting defensive positions into the city of Heskîf, located near the Siphrian-Pasdani border, which the "U.N.I.R." claims as "Marvdasht, Pasdan". The Siphrian Baha'i Armed Forces apparently haven't left a state of maximum alert since August 27; four governorates have been under states of emergency since August, and another two have placed under a state of emergency this month.

It seems strange, then, that President Qeredaxî has not been seen in public since August 18.

The Siphrian president made his last public appearance to announce that he was reconvening the country's Legislative Assembly, which he had dissolved for several months following his military coup. But he has made no appearances since. He has not met foreign leaders or ambassadors; he has not publicly met with any of his ministers, or the Council of the Faithful, or Speaker Nizamedînê Nazirî; he has not given any public addresses or held any press conferences; he hasn't even visited his troops, formerly his favorite kind of photo op. The last formal statement released in his name was released on August 27, and this was a text statement that could have been written by anyone before having the presidential seal stamped on it. In his place, General Selîm Helebceyî- Qeredaxî's right-hand man, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs- has apparently taken up the duties of government, releasing several statements on behalf of the absentee president and taking his place at formal meetings and photo ops.

So why has the man who vowed that Siphria needed a strong military ruler, and said that he would be that ruler, gone AWOL? With Qeredaxî missing and the rest of the government trying to keep the entire issue under the rug, a variety of theories have arisen, to attempt and explain the mystery. They range widely from benign to sinister, from credible to absurd, and from popular to unheard of.

The most widespread theory, and perhaps the most probable one, is that Qeredaxî is ill. In old age, the body becomes less capable of fighting disease, and Qeredaxî only a week from reaching eighty-five years old. His disease could be desperately serious- cancer, heart failure, Parkinson's disease- or it could be a disease that would be little more than an inconvenience to a younger man, but that could pose more dangerous to an elderly man such as Qeredaxî. Much of the public speculation relating to this theory has seized onto cancer, dementia, and pneumonia as potential diseases, though this is nothing more than uneducated guessing.

Kerîm Roşan, a former professor at Malmîsanjî University in Şeqlawe, told Voice of Free Nautasia that disease was "without a doubt the most probable explanation, both for Qeredaxî's disappearance and the apparent cover-up". "If the government covers up that Qeredaxî is ill, but then disease passes and he recovers, then they can release information on his illness and reassure the public by saying that it's all better, he's recovered, he's still strong, things are back to normal," Roşan explained. "But if they are open and say that he's sick before he's recovered, then suddenly they've stoked fear among the public. The public will say that Siphria is under threat, under siege, and the president- the president is laying in a hospital bed, dying, unable to defend even his own health."

Many academics and dissidents have agreed with Roşan's assessments. Yûsiv Elîyî, a longtime dissident who was forced to flee the country by the second Ferîqî regime, is among those who concur with the belief that Qeredaxî is ill and the government is hiding it, for the sake of public image. "Qeredaxî's a strongman. His claim to rule rests entirely on his supposed strength. A strongman who isn't strong- he has no claim, he has no power, he has nothing," he said. "And a dying leader is even weaker than an absentee one."

Others, though, believe something more sinister than mere illness is at hand with Qeredaxî's disappearance. "The sickness explanation is obvious, but I would argue a 'quiet putsch' is far more probable," said Seîd Meşhûr, professor of Eastern Nautasian studies at the University of Keşvare before he was forced into exile by the administration of President Cemîl Ehmedî. The 'quiet putsch' theory maintains that Qeredaxî has in fact quietly been deposed, and replaced by the remainder of the generals that have been elevated to power since the May coup. "Given that General Helebceyî has apparently taken over most duties of government, I would say that the junta elected to replace Qeredaxî with him, or that Helebceyî himself led the putsch," he speculated.

The junta Meşhûr mentions consists, according to him, of the eight military commanders who currently compose the Siphrian cabinet: Ebûlxeyr Birahîmî, Beşar Celalî, Îsmaîl Cezerî, Selîm Helebceyî, Evdirehmanê Hesenpûr, Seyfulah Hewlêrî, Osman Sadexî, and Silêman Yavuz. Meşhûr describes Celalî, Hewlêrî, Hesenpûr, and Sadexî as "potential allies" of Helebceyî in any attempt to force President Qeredaxî from power.

Why, then, cover it up? Meşhûr has an explanation for that as well. "If there was a 'quiet putsch', then this suggests that there's infighting between the various men who make up the junta, essentially an internal power struggle," he notes. "And if the generals are fighting, that implies there's a division within the Siphrian military- that the Siphrian Baha'i Armed Forces are not focused on fighting the enemy, but on fighting amongst themselves. And that has catastrophic consequences for public confidence in the military and the military government."

Others think the concept of General Helebceyî leading a 'secret putsch' against President Qeredaxî is without any concrete evidence, however. "All the evidence we have suggests that Qeredaxî trusts Helebceyî, and that Helebceyî is a longtime ally of Qeredaxî, going back to before the coup," says political analyst Tewfîk Hesanî. "Qeredaxî has described Helebceyî as 'a longtime friend', and clearly trusted him enough to give him two of the government's most powerful ministries. Helebceyî, meanwhile, has supported Qeredaxî on every issue since the coup, and appears to have been instrumental in convincing other generals to support Qeredaxî during the coup. There's nothing to suggest that Helebceyî would turn on Qeredaxî. It's entirely speculative, and honestly rather sensationalist."

Some maintain that historical precedent might give reason to doubt the concept that Helebceyî wouldn't try to topple Qeredaxî out of loyalty. "When Evdilselam Enfalî deposed President Nasiredînê Mewsilî in 1957, his right-hand man was Refîq Mohtadî, who Enfalî trusted with the ministries of Defense and State Security," noted Mortezê Avşarî, a professor of history at the National University of Heskîf. "And yet there is evidence which definitely suggests that Mohtadî used the National Security Service to engineer the airplane crash in which Enfalî died, allowing Mohtadî to seize power himself."

Yet another theory circulating among academics, dissidents, and opposition groups maintains that there has been conflict between Qeredaxî and the Council of the Faithful, the body of nine Baha'i clergymen who resolve disputes involving Baha'i doctrine, oversee the Baha'i church structure, and ultimately hold all final political power in Siphria- including the ability to unilaterally overturn any law passed by the Legislative Assembly, block any order made by the President or a cabinet minister, reverse the decisions of any Siphrian court, and nullify the results of any election in Siphria. "If there is a feud between Qeredaxî and the Council of the Faithful, then he would be politically dead, put bluntly," says exiled dissident Muşîr Nafiyî. "Qeredaxî might be attempting to slink into the shadows, hoping to quietly resign the presidency and retire from public life, to avoid outright excommunication by the Council."

But others think that, if the Council of the Faithful was involved, we would likely have found out due to divisions within the council. "It's well known that there is a very bitter conflict between Elî Rehîmî, who leads the more conservative faction on the Council, and Mesûd Merîwanî, who leads the more moderate faction," says Vigilija Galenaitė of the Aucurian Center for Political Studies's Nautasian division. "This feud is in part theological and political, but it's also become a very rancorous, acrimonious, personal feud between the two men. It's likely that Qeredaxî would only have angered one of these two factions, and if this had happened, whatever he did would have almost certainly become a part of the very public feud between Rehîmî and Merîwanî."

And if Qeredaxî had truly angered the Council enough to unite it, its members would have no reason to play coy about this fact. Among the constitutionally-granted powers of the Council of the Faithful is the right to unilaterally remove any Siphrian politician from office; if Qeredaxî had said or done something severe enough to unify the Council against him- and it would have to be a truly grievous act to bridge the Rehîmî-Merîwanî feud- they could, and likely would, simply throw him out.

And of course, in the absence of information, a variety of wild claims flourish among the Siphrian people, circulating as salacious gossip and absurd rumor. Some on the streets maintain Qeredaxî is abusing his presidential power to take an extended vacation (there is nothing about Qeredaxî that suggests he would do this, and it appears that he rarely if ever took vacations in the past); others claim that he has been kidnapped by the Ankoreni military and is being held for ransom by Evren Volkan (if the "U.N.I.R." had successfully kidnapped the president of Siphria, they would be trumpeting it from every part of their propaganda apparatus); others, that he was embezzling government floods and is now seeking asylum in foreign countries ranging from Tuthina to Luziyca to Austrosia (we would almost certainly know if Siphria's chief executive was claiming asylum abroad); still others, that he was outed as a secret Bedouin and that he had ties to separatist groups in Awiyyistan (this one is just patently absurd).

Whatever the truth is, though, the Siphrian government will eventually have to admit it. Evdulhelîm Bedirxan‎, a professor at Soreklî University in Akrê and a frequent political writer and analyst, told Voice of Free Nautasia that eventually an absentee president will become a bigger propaganda issue for the Siphrian regime than a dead one, or a deposed one, or an excommunicated one. "Already we see the rumors circulate, the fears stoked among public opinion, the wild rumors and fantasies birthed by a lack of knowledge," he declared. "It will likely not be long before the propaganda wing of the Volkan regime seizes upon this; it is perhaps a wonder they have not already. Once that happens, the government will have to come clean lest the public decide they cannot trust it with their security and begin to call for a new one."

The only question left, then, is when. And that seems about as unclear as what happened to Qeredaxî in the first place.

Final end to the Soghani Insurgency
Historic Peace Deal signed between the Government and SLA
OntiTimes
12 Sept, 2017

Image

Today is a historic day in Khokarsan-Guadecese History. After decades of fighting, the Government and Soghani Liberation Army (SLA) have decided to finally agreed to a historic peace deal that has promised to end the conflict once and for all after decades of intense fighting and countless deaths on both sides. The first few talks took place in 2012 in Naroboa that seek to end the conflict, and after several years, they've finally ratified the treaty, which promised the creation of an Autonomous Region in South West K&G, the Soghan homeland. The government has already started to withdraw from the area, leaving only a few to ensure that the peace agreement stays in place, and also has lift the old Anti-Soghani Laws that has historically been seen as the primary cause of the conflict. The SLA and its associated organizations has, in turn, de-militarized and became the new political party of the Soghani Autonomous Region.

While peace has finally been achieved, the result of the treaty hasn't been received well by the general public, many of whom wanted the unconditional surrender and total destruction of the SLA due to the amount of destruction they've done to the area, which has forced hundreds of thousands out of their homes. Recent polls have shown that 45% disapprove of the treaty. Anti-Soghani Sentiment is still extremely prevalent among many in the country, and Anti-Soghani rallies has started in Ragugola, primarily in parks, as as result of the talks.

Interestingly, this has radically increased support for Confederal Candidate, Bibinidei Guinëur, who has been described as a prevalent Anti-Soghan after witnessing the death of Senator Ahbade Guinëur, his father, in the bombing of a government building. Many Anti-Soghans have expressed support for the candidate, with prominent leaders of the Anti-Soghan Group, Anti-Soghan Defence League, claiming that the election of Guinëur into office is "the only way the Soghani people will pay for their crimes" due to the government now make policies that's seen as favourable to them. Many hope that the prejudice against the Soghani People will finally come to and end, or at the least, is subsided after the government and SLA have finally come to an agreement and with the Government's lifting of anti-Soghani laws, but even through the conflict is finally over, the cause of it is still alive and well.

State Councillor Aslan Güner: Siphria is a failed state
State Councillor Güner reveals that GID is investigating the Siphrian President's absence, while also saying that "there's no relations" .
Murat Bilgin
12 September, 2017, 12.00pm | Estanban, Union of Nautasian Islamic Republics

Image
State Councillor Güner was chairing a session of the Supreme Assembly Committee for Ideological Defence
at the time of he made his comments.

State Councillor Aslan Güner has denounced Siphria as a “failed state” during an address to members of the Supreme Assembly. In a session discussing ideological dangers to the Union’s youth, the State Councillor for National Thinking and Spiritual Unity stated that, “Siphria’s lies and conspiracy theories against the Union do endanger the resilience of the youth, who due to age, have limited capacity for resistance against poisonous lies.” He also said that the State Council was investigating President Qeredaxî’s whereabouts.

The State Councillor made the remarks during an open-session of the Supreme Assembly Committee for Ideological Defence (SACID). After discussing with at least 80 members of the legislature, dangers of Aininian propaganda, Litorean efforts to destabilise Nautasia and how to best defend those in education, especially from foreign influence, the State Councillor raised the issue of Siphria.

“I believe it reasonable to raise the issue of Siphria, which does relate to our topic of discussion. After all, for months now, it has been producing and peddling lie after lie against the Union. It has produced conspiracy theories, libellous fabrications and delusions, that could weaken our children’s ideological and revolutionary resolve.

“I have expressed this belief to the State Council and I have secured their backing in presenting to you in the Supreme Assembly, legislation that will ban all Siphrian media from entering the Union, be it printed, televised, live streamed or broadcasted” he said.

State Councillor Güner, one of the highest-ranking members of the Islamic Union Front and State Council, the ultimate political authority in the Union, is highly influential in his portfolio. The State Council’s office has confirmed that it has given its full backing to State Councillor Güner’s proposal; voting unanimously in favour.

“In truth though, we’re dealing with a failed state” he said, “their president is AWOL, no one knows where he is. How can we deal with such a country? It has lost all credibility, with its constant political instability and now its cherished strong-man is missing” he continued, citing the unknown status of President Qeredaxî.

Asked by a member of the legislature, if the State Council was ordering an investigation, State Councillor Güner confirmed it.

“We’ve asked the General Intelligence Directorate to investigate yes. We need to know where he is, because if he’s not in charge who is?” he said.

“There is also the other issue that this place is such a disaster that the Union was forced to launch an airstrike on a nest of terrorists. Which, for transparency’s sake, I backed fully. Not all in the State Council did, but we made that decision quickly” he said further.

“As to the status of Qeredaxî, I would not be surprised if he is dead in a ditch somewhere out in the countryside. They most likely killed him, his right-hand man most likely ordered it. You don’t rise in Siphrian politics without brutally killing your superior” he opined.

State Councillor Güner’s comments are similar to those of State Minister for Health and Social Services, General Ahmet Gülpınar, who told the audience of the talk show, The Truthful Word, “of course he’s dead. The Siphrians are butchers, they revel in murdering each other for power and influence, this is why they’re so backward.”

State Councillor Güner later told members of the committee, of which he heads, “as things stand with Siphria, there are no relations. We cannot deal with such a place seriously, we could make headway with one leader and the next day he’s dead with a knife in his back.”

With the GID investigating his disappearance, it is likely that an answer will be swiftly discovered, due to the GID’s extensive tools to gain intelligence on hostile forces to the revolutionary process.

The Catalysts of War

Image
UNIR tanks on the border with Mazaristan.

With the possibility of war between two great powers and a rising power in Mazaristan growing each day, we look at possible catalysts and how the mentalities of the two most invested rivals could lead to war. By addressing the sparks, it may well bring reality to both how close they are. For any war between the three, would decimate Mazaristan beyond the Caliphate’s greatest capabilities and perhaps spread beyond Mazaristan.

The Catalyst 1: Offensive against the Dashtani-Druze

Already the first possible cause for a major inter-state war has emerged; the Mazari regime’s hideously incompetent effort to disband the Dashtani-Druze Protection Group in wake of its victory in pushing the Caliphate away from their enclave and from the Irvadi border regions, has turned the 3.3 million Dashtani and Druze minorities against the state.

After their refusal was issued, along with the legitimate and reasonable justification that the Mazari regime has proved ineffective in holding its gains in the past, the Mazari Armed Forces launched sporadic violent efforts to disband militias operating in villages bordering government territory. These efforts resulted in sporadic skirmishes, culminating in a suspected massacre of the Dashtani village of Qasr-e-Todam. Since the reported massacre, the Mazari Defence Force (MDF) has made no further incursions, but skirmishes continue. At least 158 people have died in total.

The incidents and the treatment of the minorities’ alliance resulted in an outpouring of fury and jingoistic rage in the Union of Nautasian Islamic Republics – the rising power and possible hegemon of Nautasia. The UNIR itself has roughly 4.7 million Dashtanis and Druze in total and bot enjoy close ties to the totalitarian regime of the UNIR. In response to the millions strong demand for action, the UNIR has publicly warned that any effort by the regime or its Aininian or Luziycan allies to encroach on the Dashtani-Druze region, would effectively result in a full-scale UNIR intervention.

While the Aininian and Luziycan forces in Mazaristan may be rational enough to respect the UNIR’s redline, there’s no guarantee the Mazari regime will. President Yusuf Nasr, the incompetent and highly corrupt dictator of Mazaristan is renowned for his personal rage and vendettas. He denounced the Dashtani-Druze as “separatist extremists”, “terrorist sympathisers” and “traitors” following their refusal to disarm the DDPG and his rants were swiftly followed by incursions into their region.

The spark that could ignite the powder-keg therefore is clear; let us say that the DDPG attacks an MDF position or patrol, killing a number of soldiers. President Nasr, ignoring the Aininians and Luziyicans (as has been recorded numerous times) orders his forces to retaliate, with perhaps a limited offensive towards Kafr Manbir. They make gains, while the UNIR unwilling to be embarrassed or to fail to keep its word, sends a portion of the 25,000 soldiers it has along the border into the region. They eventually meet the MDF and they come to blows; though such an incident will most definitely result in an MDF crushing defeat.

Then the UNIR pushes the MDF out of the Dashtani-Druze region entirely, fearing that the UNIR would use it as an excuse for the annexation of Mazaristan like Irvadistan, the Aininians (the Luziyicans have good relations with the UNIR) decide to confront the UNIR, sending its forces to contain the UNIR force – they too come to blows and it escalates.

The Catalyst 2: PLF collapse

To the south-east is another rebel faction, one that in fact, predates the Caliphate, Hayat Tahrir Islami and indeed the Dashtani-Druze crisis. The Popular Liberation Front of Mazaristan (PLFM) is an alliance of non-Islamist militias; dominated by the Democratic Action Force and the Mazari Workers’ Brigades, an Islamic Democratic faction and a Syndicalist militia respectively. The two are joined by Arab Socialists in the form of the Popular Liberation League and an assortment of Arab Nationalists.

Following the Irvadi Coup, the Irvadi Interim Government (comprised of the Islamic Collectivist generals who led the overthrow of Amin Kamel) reportedly established secret ties to the PLF, sending tiny amounts of medical, food and humanitarian supplies. Following the election of Abdul-Tariq Samad as President of Irvadistan, those supplies included weapons and ammunition.
Following the founding of the UNIR, all information of those ties vanished as the Ankoreni talent for snuffing out leaks took hold. But Mazari and Aininian intelligence reports, since publicised claimed that the UNIR took to the PLF rather warmly. So much so, that the amount of “new and deadly weaponry being used by PLF fighters, indicates a dramatic expansion in UNIR support for the PLF.”

It is not without reason, that it is easy to predict a possible extension of the UNIR’s redline over the Dashtani-Druze to the PLF. Just by looking at a map of the current civil war shows the benefit of doing so, by offering protection to the DDPG and the PLF, the UNIR would establish buffer zones along the border. If there are two things the UNIR seeks from Mazaristan’s nightmare it would be, the overthrow of Nasr and a repeat of its Irvadistan success and second, at minimum, protection from the Aininian-Luziycan presence.

Let us imagine, a government Aininian-backed offensive makes gains against the PLF, it faces near total destruction, the same forces are close to gaining control over Ghajar and Ain Aata; the two key crossings into Irvadistan. Fearing Aininians on its very border, the UNIR dispatches a force to prop up the PLF along the border – the two forces clash and again it escalates into full-scale war, given the popular militarism gripping the UNIR and the growing overt sense of superiority and underestimation in Huimont it is possible.

Catalyst 3: The “Black Hand”

The one thing that seems to concern Mazari commanders the most, in my discussions with them, is the “Black Hand”, Ed Sawda in Arabic; or most commonly known as the Nautasian Freedom Defence Front. They fear them deeply and for good reason.

The NFDF, was the latest product of the Irvadi tragedy, emerging in a blaze of fire and suicide bombings against the Kamel regime at the start of 2017. Founded and led by disgruntled Irvadi generals, the NFDF within weeks infiltrated Kamel’s Army and Civil Service, undermining him prior to his downfall. But that is not what causes fear among Mazari officers, it is the fact that following the founding of the UNIR, the NFDF was quietly handed control over the 50 plus militias that fought alongside Ankoren during its intervention.

The NFDF boasts up to 50,000 veteran guerrilla and regular fighters, armed to the teeth with Ankoreni weaponry and trained to the same level of Ankoreni/UNIR regulars. It is now known that since the UNIR’s founding, the NFDF has undergone major reforms and restructuring and training. It has been rebuilt into a hybrid-warfare fighting force, mixing insurgent and conventional tactics.

There is no doubt that the NFDF has become the UNIR’s shadowy Black Hand, an unofficial branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Army, and one that has already begun infiltrating Mazaristan. Since, the arrival of Aininian and Luziycan forces into the country, over 30 “Cadres” or cells, of the NFDF have been formed in Mazari government territory, according to the NFDF. These cells have been formed independently of NFDF central command and indicate a legitimate spread and success of the UNIR’s nascent propaganda campaign against the regime.

Should the UNIR seek to capitalise on the chaos in Mazaristan without bloodying itself, the Black Hand is the way to do it. With the NFDF already spreading, it is more than likely that in the very short-term the Black Hand will appear elsewhere, perhaps in the south-west of Mazaristan, where the UNIR could achieve a full-border length buffer zone.

Let us say this does happen, the NFDF and its best units carve a chunk along the Mazari-Pasdani-Irvadi borders, inflicting losses on the MDF. Eager to deter future incursions, the Aininians or the Luziycans launch airstrikes on NFDF positions, perhaps even bold enough to attack NFDF camps in northern Irvadistan – sovereign territory of the UNIR. The UNIR retaliates by shooting down a plane, or launching retaliatory airstrikes, tit-for-tat swiftly turns into an air-war over either Irvadistan or southern Mazaristan, eager not to shamed or defeated, the UNIR invades.

The mentalities

While the above scenarios that spark a conflict may appear far-fetched, let us first address how they’re realistic. For these scenarios to be realistic, you have to recognise that both sides have the current mentalities for a conflict.

In truth, both sides see more benefit out of a direct confrontation than negotiation. The UNIR desperately wants the Aininian-Luziycan force gone, though attacking them might not necessarily secure them that; inflicting heavy losses on them indirectly may well. But beyond that, there’s a growing obsession within UNIR society of “proving the Union fit to lead”, put simply, there’s a wide-spread belief in ordinary society that war has to happen to evict the imperialists once and for all. As stated some weeks ago in Voice of Free Nautasia, the UNIR population has become more hardline and jingoistic than the regime.

Secondly, the UNIR regime is gripped by triumphalism, it destroyed the Kamel regime without firing a shot at it, annexed the entirety of Irvadistan, securing its oil and natural gas, without the world even blinking an eyelid. They’re under the belief that Mazaristan could easily be the same – is Ainin or Luziyca really willing to risk a major conflict with the greatest power in Nautasia over Mazaristan? Surely not. This allows for miscalculation and underestimation, especially of Ainin’s commitment to blocking the UNIR from reaching Nautarya.

Conversely, Ainin has its own stake in a war. A direct confrontation in Mazaristan, if a victory, would not only dent the UNIR’s pride, but most likely cripple the Volkan-Akbari administration, which has staked its reputation on Irvadistan’s success and continuing it. It would also remind the world that the UNIR is not invincible, that the UNIR war machine is not unstoppable and reconfirm Ainin as the dominant power in Nautasia.

Knowing this, the Marianne de Lotbinière administration has its space for miscalculation and underestimation. One prime space for such could be in Aininian belief in its military superiority and strength – granted the Aininian Armed Forces are truly capable and one of the advanced in the world, but the UNIR is not Koyro, Xiaodong or any Nautasian state. The Islamic Revolutionary Army is the fifth largest in the world and possesses some of the most imposing military systems, especially in the realms of anti-tank, anti-aircraft and ballistic missile technology. That and IRA soldiers are exceptionally disciplined, trained and treated – owed to 93 years of military-party rule.

The other is that they could misjudge the political situation in the UNIR, that the UNIR itself may not be willing for a major power war over Mazaristan, for a defeat could well spell the end of the Islamic Collectivist regime itself. But doing nothing in face of perceived Aininian provocation could spell the end of the regime.

If both sides see the benefit in war, the likelihood of war will grow exponentially. Both sides must establish lines of communication, both sides must negotiate to avoid a complete and total disaster, otherwise the death toll could be horrific.

Regulations eased on Luziycan corporations wishing to invest in UNIR
Image
Secretary of State Alina Stasov

BETHLEHEM, F.C. - Today, Secretary of State Alina Stasov and Ankoreni Foreign Minister Hüseyin Dündar signed a bilateral agreement to ease restrictions on Luziycan corporations investing in the Union of Nautasian Islamic Republics in exchange for the Christian Republic sending technicians to help ensure the adoption of clean coal technologies to mitigate environmental damage caused by the predominant use of coal within UNIR, especially in Ankoren and Pasdan, as well as increasing the efficiency of converting Ankoreni coal into electricity.

Despite controversy over the agreement, especially as tensions between UNIR and Ainin have risen over the past few weeks, Alina Stasov told a press conference that "the recent discussions between the Foreign Minister of UNIR and myself was primarily to discuss how to relax regulations to encourage the investment of our corporations into Irvadistan, and to implement technologies to help reduce the damage caused to the environment in the UNIR as a consequence of its industrialization over the past few decades."

In regards to the investments, she said that "with the devastation in Irvadistan, our corporations have, for the past while, contemplated expanding their operations into Irvadistan. This agreement will ensure that they will not only invest in Irvadistan, as well as the rest of the Union of Islamic Nautasian Republics, but also provide jobs."

On the clean coal issue, Alina Stasov stated that "clean coal technologies will help the people of the Union of Islamic Nautasian Republics, as our goal will be that such technologies will make converting coal into electricity more efficient, so that, if I may use a Luziycan proverb, they get more bang for their buck. This will greatly benefit Ankoreni industry, and hopefully increase their export-worthiness across the world."

Among other topics discussed in the conference between Secretary of State Alina Stasov and Foreign Minister Hüseyin Dündar was refugees: with 50,000 people still residing in refugee camps in Ankoren and Pasdan, the Christian Republic has agreed to take in twenty thousand refugees via a resettlement program.

She told reporters that "while there is now lasting peace in Irvadistan, the Christian Republic recognizes that there are some refugees who are unable to safely return to their homes for whatever reason. Therefore, we have agreed with the UNIR government to take in twenty thousand Irvadi refugees before this year is out, and resettle the Irvadis currently in Ankoren and Pasdan in our borders."

"The twenty thousand refugees that will be brought into the Christian Republic will largely comprise of the most vulnerable members, mainly families, children, LGBT individuals, and disabled individuals," she remarked. "These vulnerable individuals shall receive top priority from the Luziycan government."

As well, the conference between the two officials touched upon Mazaristan: it was agreed that Luziyca will withdraw most of their troops after defeating both the Caliphate and the Hayat Tahrir Islami, in exchange for UNIR agreeing to not launch an offensive attack on Mazaristan.

Reactions from the opposition
As the 2018 mid-term elections for the House of Representatives approach, NLP leader Dorothy Vasiliev was swift to criticize the policies, declaring that "this agreement shows that the Agapov administration continues the Liberal tradition of spineless politicking," and accused Alina Stasov of "throwing Mazaristan under the Ankoreni bus, just like how Svensson threw Nantai under the Namorian bus, just so we may keep our oil and invest in their economy."

She also accused Stasov of being "naive," stating that "in a couple of years, Ankoren will invade Mazaristan. They will annex it, and pretend that they're respecting the will of the people."

Meanwhile, Whig leader Nikolai Serhoskav declared that "while the free trade provisions are admirable, as well as taking in much of the remaining refugees in Irvadistan, we are concerned that such an agreement may not only jeopardize our membership within the EC, but also empower Ankoren in Nautasia."

Finally, Socred leader Paul Nikolovich expressed his support for the agreement, as a way to "ensure a continuation of friendly relations with Ankoren without sacrificing our key tenets."

Decision 2017: Presidential Election Wrapup
With Yvette Laval reporting
Good evening. This is Yvette Laval at the West Cedarbrook 1 Election Center in Wrycova, here now with the final results of this year’s presidential race, and significant down ballot results.

Feld Returned for 5 More Years:
Steinberg and Davis Split Opposition Vote: Eitan at 5%

Image
In for 5 More!
Conservatives cheered tonight as President Feld was returned to office, leading former President Louis B. Steinberg of the Libertarians by 10 percentage points, 43% to 33%. The Civic Alliance contender, former Army Chief of Staff Anatole-Louis Davis, came in third at 19%. Trailing the other candidates was Social Democracy’s Margeurite Eitan at 5%. President Feld responded to Steinberg’s concession speech 15 minutes ago, speaking to a small crowd of well-wishers at the family residence in Slovmovitz Center. He told the crowd “Thank you, thank all of you, for your heartfelt support throughout this campaign. I couldn’t have done it without you, and the support of millions of Cedarbrookese invested in our nation, and eager to continue the progress of the last 5 years. I have just received the call from former President Steinberg, conceding this year’s election to me, and wishing the best for the future. What a gracious gesture! Throughout the campaign, President Steinberg kept the discussion on track, and was a fine example of the simple decency for which he is well known. Once again I salute him for his service to our country, and concern for the betterment of our people. I have also received concession messages from General Davis and Mrs. Eitan. And now, friends and supporters, let us turn our attention to the serious business of improving the lives of all Cedarbrookese”

President Feld continued “As I look back at the last 5 years, there is much to be proud of: stabilization of a serious and destructive banking crisis, bringing budgeting for domestic spending in line, and holding the line on destructive changes that had challenged the values that have made this country what it is today. Looking ahead, you can depend on this administration to continue to hold the line on spending, paring back foolish, unproven, and frivolous programs. In a period of economic growth such as we now enjoy, this is especially important in the effort to hold the line against inflation. The Cedarbrookese public can also rest assured that we will continue the appointment of Criminal Court judges dedicated to keeping a lid on crime at all levels. With the expansion of international investment banking in the Kramden, appointments to the newer regulatory agencies and staffing of those agencies will be made with an eye to insuring that these financial instruments allow for greater growth, but always with an protection of the public interest as a leading concern. And observers among our friends on the continent and across the Hyporian Ocean can rest assured that we continue our policy of “Defense Here, Trade There”. West Cedarbrook will meet all obligations as a member of the Conitia Security Agreement, and we will continue to extend a helping hand to our neighbors across the sea through our policy of Constructive Engagement.

And so I say to you, fellow citizens, let us continue!

Former President Steinberg, speaking from his home in Lawrenceville, met with campaign supporters and the press throughout the evening, and spoke to them shortly after his concession to President Feld, saying “I have just congratulated President Feld on his re-election, and we had a cordial conversation. I urge all voters, Libertarian, Conservative, Social Democracy, or Civic Alliance to set aside our differences now and get behind President Feld as he continues with the hard job of President for the next term. And it is a hard job, believe me. I especially want to thank Mayor Miller, for her strong campaigning for the Libertarian ticket throughout this election. She has done an exemplary, even brilliant job in Port Yehoshua, and brought a lot of energy to the campaign, especially these last few months. Universally popular, I think she has a great future on the national stage. I warmly thank those millions of Cedarbrookese who put their trust in me and the Libertarian message this year. Thank you, and good night.” The Civic Alliance candidate, General Davis put out a statement from his headquarters in Holon, making the point “We shook up the system this time. There’s nothing for Civic Alliance to be ashamed of. Of course, I wish President Feld the best over the next 5 years. But for us this is only the beginning. Many of the issues we raised are critical to the health and well-being of the average Cedarbrookese, and these aren’t going away. At a time of prosperity and job growth it is right to raise issues of spending on public health, education, and improved transportation – these are not frivolous! You can expect to hear more about these from the Civic Alliance at all levels as President Feld starts his second term.” Social Democracy’s Eitan struck a more defiant note, speaking to supporters at the East 87th Street Laborers and Teamsters Union Hall in Wrycova, claiming “The measure of our success isn’t in these results. After many years under successive, oppressive Libertarian and Conservative rule, the workers of West Cedarbrook finally had representation on the presidential ballot. Change doesn’t always happen overnight, especially when faced with long entrenched financial interests. But have hope. Let this encourage us to struggle further for the worker and the poor. We aren’t going anywhere!”

Ladies Night for 2022?

Pundits across the spectrum dived into speculation about early front runners for the presidency in 2022, when President Feld will be forbidden from running for a third consecutive term. Among Conservatives, most agree Vice President Paula Davidoff is an early favorite. At this time the only other contender from the cabinet, Senate, or state or municipal level with similar stature would appear to be Attorney General Elliot Arnstein. The Attorney General is reported to be considering a bid for South State Governor against troubled incumbent James Prenevaou. That candidacy would appear to be complicated by a number of long-running investigations against Prenevaou. Other observers indicate that the elevation of Davidoff and Arnstein as presidential candidates may slightly impact foreign policy, both being members of the more aggressive “fire eater” faction of Conservatives, more aligned with the manufacturing sector and considered in some quarters as Namophilic, putting them at odds with the “pragmatist” Conservatives who hold sway in the administration under External Affairs Secretary Kansky.

The opposition is more fragmented. Some in the Civic Alliance doubted the feasibility of running a presidential candidate this year, and General Davis’ performance may have given credence to that view. The Libertarian-Civic Alliance coalition in the Senate appears to be working well, and is viewed by some as a path to the future for both parties. The Libertarian campaign failure has been viewed to be the result of Steinberg’s heavy attention to Alsatiano voters, and pandering to his party’s isolationist block after winning the primary. His running mate, Port Yehoshua’s Mayor Sara Miller has none of that baggage, and is viewed favorably across the spectrum of Cedarbrookese opinion. At this early date she has to be considered as the front runner among the Libertarians, and will have a major say in any decision regarding a partnership or merger with Civic Alliance.

Wrycova Mayoral Race: Brewer Edges into City Hall

Image
Can He Make Wrycova Great Again?
In the tightest race since 1949, Civic Alliance’s Saelac Brewer edged Conservative candidate Avrom Fisher, as the capital municipality dumped incumbent Libertarian Harry Kaplan. Brewer scored 34%, Fisher 33%, leaving Kaplan with 29%. 4% marked ballots for Social Democracy’s Yitzhak Occitanie lagged at 4%
Brewer carried most wards in the east side “Across the River (ATR)” neighborhood, a stunning rejection of Kaplan’s stewardship. Fisher, Board Chair of Wrycova Power & Light pulled strongly on the prosperous north side. Both candidates cut into traditional Libertarian support in the south side Brook Park neighborhood. A split City Council will convene on Monday, with municipal Conservatives and the Civic Alliance expected to hold sway for the most part. Heading the Council will be Stanislaw Armel, Brewer’s running mate. The Libertarians retained City Prosecutor Charles Montreal, while the Conservative’s Marie Nagel captured the City Treasurer post.

In his victory statement, Mr. Brewer told supporters “Friends, this is just the start. I’ll be with you on the streets tomorrow, clearing snow. First week in office, visiting every general high school. Count on it. Let’s make Wrycova great again, let’s get to it!”

ARMY LAUNCHES OFFENSIVE TOWARDS AFSAN
Army launches decisive operation to liberate Asfan from so-called Caliphate
Image

Jalawla - The Mazari Defence Force with Luziycan ground and air support has launched a major offensive against the so-called Caliphate. Dubbed Operation Lightening Strike, the 35,000 strong MDF force will aim to seize control of the terrorist occupied town of Asfan. Securing the terrorist stronghold would return a clear majority of the nation’s oil and gas resources, much needed to restore dignity to the Mazari nation. General Nasib al-Jalabi, the lead commander of the operation declared “victory is inevitable.”

The MDF seeks to advance on Asfan from two directions, the first from the north-east, advancing along the I-2 from the Naqbarif region. This axis of advance will seek to re-secure key oil and gas fields, that will be necessary for the nation to rebuild once the terrorist gangs are defeated and driven from Mazaristan. The other route of advance will be along the Khaybar River highway, which the MDF seeks to use to rapidly advance, liberating towns and villages along the river’s shores, reaching Asfan from the south and south-east.

Smaller operations have been announced including an offensive against the Hayat Tahrir Islami pocket in south of Khan Qasyr. The pocket has been a major source of terror attacks and raids on the I-2 Highway, which divides the pocket from HTI territory to the north.

Speaking to journalists, General al-Jalabi described the upcoming offensive as the “beginning of the end for the Caliphate terrorist gangs, this operation marks the beginning of a series of actions that will culminate in their utter destruction and the liberation of Asfan, Khaybar, Itrah and Halat Ammar, as well as all towns and villages under their evil yoke” he said.

“No doubt they will fight to the death, as their vile creed demands, but we will prevail, whatever the cost because we committed to our nation’s unification and victory. With suitable forces and the vast firepower of Ainin and Luziyca at our disposal we will defeat them swiftly, God willing” he said further.

The so-called Caliphate has an estimated 35,000 fighters remaining in Mazaristan, yet they stand demoralised and short on ammunition and other supplies following their annihilation in Irvadistan. And with no defence against aircraft, the Mazari Air Force and aircraft from the Coalition will surely degrade their ability to defend sufficiently.

President Yusuf Nasr in a radio address to soldiers, said “we are expecting great victories from you all. We have today, the greatest weapons and the closest allies fighting with us, bring victory for your families, bring victory for me and bring victory for the nation.”

The offensive is fully underway, we will update you on all events.

Government deeply concerned by Luziycan-UNIR agreement

The Mazari General People’s Assembly has condemned the Luziycan deal with the Union of Nautasian Islamic Republics, in which the Luziycans agreed to withdraw its forces from the country following the defeat of the so-called Caliphate, and its Salafist allies in Hayat Tahrir Islami.

Prime Minister Ebrahim Ali told the legislature, that “on all grounds the government is deeply disturbed by the Luziycan agreement made with the UNIR. For the first time, we are beginning to question Luzyica’s commitment to defending its ally and friend in finds in our country. We are shocked that the Luziycan government would believe the UNIR, surely they know that if they withdraw, the UNIR will come for us, just like they did to Irvadistan.”

Foreign Minister Sullah al-Muallem also condemned the agreement, “the world will now question not only how trustworthy, but how erstwhile Luziycan support is, Luziyca’s reputation as a reasonable force for good has now been tarnished. They have inflicted, I fear considerable damage to our mutual relations.”

However, Foreign Minister al-Muallem offered a more positive note, “while we are concerned by the agreement, we hope that Luziyca can reassure our people, of their commitment to maintaining our sovereignty” he said.
President Nasr has since refused to comment on the agreement.

Black Hand issues threat against Mazaristan

The Irvadistan-based terror group, the Nautasian Freedom Defence Front, though commonly known as the Black Hand has issued a direct threat against Mazaristan. In a widely posted “letter” to the Mazari people, the terror group has stated that it has “come to liberate Mazaristan” from President Yusuf Nasr and the “occupiers” in the form of the Aininians.

The Black Hand which was formed in early 2017 to wage a terror campaign against innocent Irvadi civilians and the government of Amin Kamel, killed over 400 people before Kamel was overthrown by Ankoreni backed generals. Since, the NFDF has absorbed hundreds of Irvadi and Ankoreni militias that fought terrorists during the Irvadi Civil War. It possesses many modern weapons, including tanks. The NFDF is effectively a fifth branch of the UNIR’s military, receiving training and weapons from the aggressive state.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that any attack by the NFDF will be repelled and will face vicious retaliation.

Xiaodong will "never surrender" to Narmadi barbarism, Defence Ministry declares
Yuan Qinqin denies the Xiaodongese Defence Force has faced military defeat in Narmada
September 15, 2017
By Chen Xilai

Yuan Qinqin addressing reporters

RONGZHUO - Minister of Defence and Military Planning Yuan Qinqin addressing reporters today has declared that Xiaodong will "never surrender" to Narmadi barbarians and that Xiaodong will "continue to intervene to liberate our brothers and sisters that are oppressed across the continent".

In an official press statement today, Yuan alongside Minister of International Relations Xu Bangguo has called Narmadi rejections of a proposal by the First Minister to hold negotiations for peace under reasonable preconditions (Narmadi recognition of Xinzuguo as an indivisible and integral part of Xiaodong and renouncement of the use of force to achieve its geopolitical aims) as "geopolitical suicide" and that Narmada has "rejected totally the preservation of peace on the continent. Such a rejection should be responded to with full force in order to pacify the jingoism of the Narmadi syndicalist regime".

Yuan has however denied that the Xiaodongese government is treating the current situation as a war, saying the intervention is "merely a domestic issue...our constitution stipulates that if our people are under attack in land that is rightfully Xiaodongese, it is the duty of our Defence Force to protect them and repel the barbarians".

"Not only are the Defence Force's actions legal from the perspective of domestic and international law, but they also constitute moral superiority over the Narmadi barbarians who have sought to launch genocide over innocent Xiaodongese living in Narmada."

In response to reports that Xiaodongese forces have encountered some military losses in Narmada and are being driven back to the border, Yuan called such reports "Narmadi lies spread by propagandist snakes and their paymasters, the multinational banking sector. Many nations are trying to undermine Xiaodong, which is one of the few countries left that cares for its citizens welfare and defends national sovereignty. They do this by spreading lies to weaken this country. This talk that our Defence Force is being defeated by Narmadi syndicalists is just that - talk."

"Our reports continue to show that the Defence Forces are continuing to achieve military success against our enemies".

Nevertheless Yuan confirmed in order to strengthen Xiaodongese resolve an additional deployment of 5,000 soldiers to Xinzuguo which will followed by further deployments if necessary. "If Narmada continue to refuse to discuss peace, Xiaodong will be forced to exert significant military force over Narmada" Yuan stated.

In another statement International Relations Minister Xu Bangguo criticised foreign governments - more specifically Akai an Senria - for "attempting either flagrant militarism or to interfere in matters of which they know nothing of" in regards to Xiaodong. In the case of Senria, Xu criticised a recent move by the fascist government of Hayato Nisimura to order naval drills in the water between Xiaodong and Senria.

"The Senrian government's decision to order naval drills in such a militaristic matter can only be seen as a deliberate, jingoistic provocations against the Auspicious Republic. The Xiaodongese government warns Senria that if it continues more hostile acts against Xiaodong the Xiaodongese government will maintain all options on the table to halt such hostile acts."

Xu also slammed a recent statement made by Akai's Ditu which stated that Xiaodongese actions to secure the rights and welfare of the people of Beijiang against the kleptocratic and reactionary Tinzan regime was "pointless aggression and hostility". The same statement from the inbred degenerate also read that Xiaodong's governmental system was "barbaric" and that by appeasing the genocidal Tinzan regime would be to "betterment of all parties". Xu stated that the Ditu "is utterly ignorant of the situation in Borea and should refrain from speaking about matters as to which he neither knows nor understands anything about."

Assistance pledged to Xiaodongese nation in face of barbaric syndicalist imperialism
Munitions, resources and supplies dispatched to Xiaodong as the Razarian people arrive at the defence of a partner
2017/09/15
The National Fortification Command has announced that assistance has been pledged to Xiaodong in face of recent aggression by the syndicalist wasteland state of Narmada, whose manipulative, conspiring ruling elite has launched multiple attacks on Xiaodongese national sovereignty in the past months. Following the repulsion of these unprovoked savage acts that resulted in the deaths of many brave young Xiaodongese men by the courageous armed forces of the Xiaodongese nation, the sly, mischievous Narmadi ruling elite are threatening the Xiaodongese people to accept blatantly unacceptable conditions while preparing to completely destroy the sovereign Xiaodongese state.

According to a spokesperson, military intelligence assets have reported that Narmada has in fact mobilized and readied 'extremely large amounts of mechanized forces', removing them from positions where they were stationed previously to suppress regional uprisings, positioning them at areas along the Xiaodongese border to be able to launch a 'full-scaled assault', likely if Xiaodong should refuse to accept the outrageous Narmadi demands. This was confirmed by both satellite imagery as well as other surveillance methods available to Razarian strategic authorities. In face of knowledge of this, the NFC has decided to pledge assistance and aid to the Xiaodongese people, in light of the long standing partnership between the two independent and sovereign countries on the two ends of the Borean continent.

The NFC officially announced that 'munitions, resources and supplies' have been dispatched to Xiaodong as a preliminary assistance package, including cartridges, shells and missiles compatible with Xiaodongese weapons, raw materials, as well as various supplies to maintain the health of Xiaodongese civilians as well as soldiers. The shipment will traverse the Central Ocean on its route to Xiaodong. This, of course, will not be all that Razaria commits to the aid of the Xiaodongese nation in need, as this in itself will do very little to actually halt the advances of a barbarous Narmadi syndicalist brute. Continuous material aid will be given to Xiaodong if tensions do not ease, though, as long-time partners, the Razarian people have far more to offer for this ally.

A statement has been dispatched from the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs that in the event of Narmadi aggression on Xiaodong, Razaria will 'without hesitation, commit to the defence of the free Xiaodongese nation in the military field'. The Razarian National Armed Forces has also announced its readiness to 'fight alongside' the Xiaodongese military against syndicalist imperialism. "Our valiant air forces are ready to unload bombs and missiles on the headquarters of the Worker-Peasants' Union, our steadfast naval forces are ready to turn Narmadi harbors into their original materials, and our knightly ground forces are ready to smash through barricades of syndicalist bandits, God willing!" proudly proclaims a soldier from the Eastern Command. "The Narmadi army is nothing but a band of dirt-ragged peasant muggers, they may be numerous, but should we smash their infrastructure, already weakened as a result of their failed syndicalist policies, they will collapse easily." claims an officer.

Numerous units from across the nation, including not only active but also reserve units, proclaimed their readiness to 'fight the savage aggressor beast' should it rear its ugly head on both Xiaodongese and Razarian people. Readiness and alertness of units have been increased to prepare for participation in a war and rehearsals of operations and tactics are beginning.

"Xiaodong will not bow to syndicalist imperialism and aggression, and neither will Razaria allow such a fellow free, sovereign nation and its people to. Against the dark forces of syndicalist cruelty and evil, the forces of justice and freedom shall surely triumph." says a foreign affairs secretariat spokesperson. Indeed, this attitude is resonated throughout our fortified Nation as millions declare support of Xiaodong against their enemies.
