The President is elected by the Parliament with 2/3 majority - he/she is the 'figure head' of the nation. The President only acts on the advise of the Prime Minister. Although he/she does have the power to dismiss the government but only very rarely would this power be exercised. The President is elected for a 5 year term. Jasmine Cabbot was elected in 2010.

All the ministers are elected members of parliament. Election is held every 3 years, unless the parliament is dissolved by the President on the advise of the Prime Minister. The next election is scheduled to be August, 2013. The current government is expected to be reelected comfortably.
