Second-strike capability: a nation's ability to respond to an overwhelming nuclear attack with one of their own, regardless of damage done to the nation. This most often takes the form of nuclear submarines. Does your nation possess a second-strike ability? If so, how powerful is it?

The Wisconsin Air Force maintains several thousand nuclear weapons of various ranges, and every fleet has at least five. In the event that a massive nuclear attack on the homeland is confirmed, and no orders are received from the Global Retaliatory Weapons Command, there are standing orders that the weapons are to be used against the most likely aggressors.

Our empire has a rather sizable nuclear reserve and several nuclear submarines for such an occassion. Of course, it is our constant hope that we will never ever have to resort to such measures.

The Greater Pony Herd Navy and Strategic Command jointly operate 800 deployed Ursa Major submarines of which 500 currently operate as ballistic missile submarines. Each submarine is equipped with a complement of 24 SLBMs. Additionally Ursa Major submarines that operate as cruise missile platforms may launch cruise missiles with nuclear payloads, and Sea Serpent attack submarines are also equipped to launch nuclear-tipped GCM Friendshipmaker cruise missiles.

Of course, all other surviving and operable launch facilities will also be used in a retaliation, and the launch handlers of course have their own classified protocols to execute retaliation even in the case of the central command's beheading in a first strike.

Anyway, Saurisia maintains a sizable fleet of nuclear submarines, some 750 in all, with approximately 2000 SLBMS in stock. This, of course, doesn't include the dozens of land-based missile launchers capable of performing retaliatory strikes.

A strike against our Capital Planet, if significantly destructive, will trigger our "Razed Space" strategem.... 33in which a small fleet of our Dragon Class Warships speacially modified for the task will locate the planets or nations responsible, and hyper towards them. One ship per planet is all it takes... They will drop out of hyper well outside the system, in dead space, and will turn themselves into massive kinetic weapons capable of destroying an entire planet with a single impact... and accelerate towards the enemy until they impact at relatvistic speeds, destroying the entire planet in a massive explosion.

All three services of the Britannian Armed Forces are nuclear capable, and can retaliate in a matter of minutes if needed.

The Air Force and Navy can especially launch a counter-strike under a minute.

TurtleShroom may or may not be developing and constructing a collosal, subterrenaian Frankenstein's monster conglomaration of decades of computer technology from the early RL Cold War that takes up acres and acres of land and requires natural caves to serve as ventilation ducts and coolers, and demands its own power source made in a nuclear generator on the underground site.

This computer may or may not wield the power within its great vacuum tubes and weak conductors spanning from the 1950s to the 1970s, programmed by modulation rearranging of wires and pieces with no GUI or OS, to detect a total nuclear catastrophe.
This computer may or may not be staffed with TurtleShroom's most brilliant minds that are given five six star accomodations on site for them and all their family, who man it around the clock forever.

This computer, when ordered or when no response can be given because it got nuked, may or may not be able to guide any and all of the twenty thousand "Creeper" class ICBMs to a target of their choosing, as if they were at a nuclear silo launch, which may or may not be linked to this computer.

-and this computer, directed by these hundreds of geniuses, may or may not be able to totally retaliate a nuclear strike with tens of thousands of return fire, turning the attacker into a sea of glass.

This computer, of course, may or may not exist.
-but if it does actually exist, you may call this theoretical computer the "Dead Hand of TurtleShroom", "PROJECT JONAH II".

The Zionist Soviet Empire has a major arsenal of thousands of nuclear weapons, in bombs, missles, subs, and more. If there were to be a nuclear attack on the Zionist Empire, they could strike back with major nuclear assualts. Although much of the nuclear arsenal is a secret, it is no secret that the Zionist Empire has nuclear abilities.

Our orbital weapons platforms are highly equipped for a second-strike. Nuclear warheads are available, along with thermobaric. Should the enemy be able to deter our warheads, then I suppose an orbital bombardment should do the trick.

We use the dispersal strategem and contraction strategem. In the event of a full-scale nuclear strike, we will first launch a retaliatory second strike. Since it is likely neither nation would be able to retaliate a second time, we would then assess the damage done and, if need be, contract the Federation to a smaller core that's easier to defend.

Assuming someone nukes us again there are eight nuclear ballistic submarines in the Imperial Navy with standing orders to send whoever is at the top of our nuclear shitlist straight to Hell. Along with those there are some six nuclear armed cruisers and of course the Strategic Rocket Corps which will pretty much immediately fire all we've got back at whomever fired at us. We're all going to die; alas, such is MAD.

Our navy is pretty much spread out across the entire planet at all times, patrolling international waters and casually aiming cruise missiles at anyone who looks like they might at some point disrupt international trade routes. We would certainly be able to strike back at an aggressor against us, even if the entire nation were wiped out by WMDs.

Our country has an emergency fail-deadly system that is activated and pre-programmed when the Spire's Orders hit Level Three.

We have a massive naval capability (the Ras-class can -theoretically- carry over 3,000 tactical nuclear missiles, and we operate a proper SSBN fleet), as well as silos hidden in uninhabited areas outside of our borders, and warheads in re-entry vehicles floating around in orbit waiting to be activated. We also have many TELs, mostly based on the Topol-M, which are hard to locate before they fire their payloads.

Indeed we do, we have over 1000 colonized planets and our fleets in deep space along with our mobile command stations "Sanctuary" and "Haven" on patrol in interstellar deep space so a first strike would barely even scratch our military strength.

Enough to bring about at the very least a Mutually Assured Destruction scenario for any would be aggressor large enough to carry out a successful first strike against us.
The exact details are classified, but suffice to say we are confident in our counterattack capabilities.

The Space Navy is the primary means of a second strike capability if the heartlands are wiped out. We maintain several nuclear arsenals in Space Navy operating bases, although the primary means of engagement is still via coilgun.

The other option is resorting to the primary nuclear policy of the nation and allowing spies or in a worst case scenario; terrorists to deploy nuclear weapons into enemy countries stealthily.

Missile shields are not particularly effective against either method, although obviously the latter is easier to counteract.
