In Andertion there is a group of radical mouse herders in the mountains who feel the massive shift of people into the mountain cities has threatened their way of life. The rountinely attack by first strapping lighter fluid soaked rags on the tails of their 3 foot long mice, set them on fire, and send them into the remote villages then attack stark naked swinging sticks wrapped with barbed wire. They call themselves the Squeakers. While they do loot the villages, they rarely kill or wound anyone and most of the damage is in the unbearable emotional trauma to the children. These children, who have the picture of fat naked men leading mutant mice and stealing their food embeded in their minds, often leads them to emotional instability and after an attack, at the base of a cliff, there could be 30+ bodies of teenagers who jumped to their deaths to purge the images from their minds. If a squeaker is caught, the penalty is always slavery in the wintari mines (wintari is a superhard clear substance used in many traditional weapons and construction found only in the mountains of Andertion.)
