The Jibberish High Council was evacuated earlier today due to a massive fire. Luckily, the council and all staff made it out alive and nobody was seriously harmed, although Urn Bourghen and Urn Thomas were notably irritated.

The police are not making any effort to investigate the fire, as it has been discovered that Urn Kolten was having a staff party in his office.

For those who are not familiar with Jibberish politics, Urn Kolten is famous for being loud and unafraid to voice his opinion, a man who can enjoy his drink and one of the few Jibberish citizens to legally own a flamethrower.

Republican Scum

Unlike the majority of monarchies, A Monarch of Izzyshipper is not referred to as "The King/Queen" until the coronation, and until then are known simply as "His/Her Royal Highness, the Sovereign Prince/Princess" and recognised merely as regents until their Crowning.

Which has lead to the coronations of Izzyerian monarchs to be held very soon after their predecessor's death, and therefore not the lavish spectacle expected of them.

Contrary to our name, not all states within the Merchant Republics are literally-defined Republics, indeed we have several notable Kingdoms and even non-democratic states. The only specific parameters for a new state to be recognized is that it complies with the Celestial Constitution and Confederation Charters, which do not prescribe any limitations on political structure, only individual rights which must be granted and protected.

Some contend that our nation should have been called the Merchant Commonwealth but the Merchant Republics was preferred at the time Confederation's organization. Specically because of the large amount of the population whose ancestors came from the former Merchant Republics of Earth.

Because the Air Cavalry is practicing "invading" parks and playgrounds in the city today, children are advised to get out of the way if they see helicopters coming.

Two of the Military Orders of the Empire. All 5 make up the Empire's Armed Forces, and the two mentioned, the Holy Order of St George of Outremer and the Military Order of Edward III, are the two based actually in England.
