All Tsvarchivans who have attended and graduated from any institution of learning have volunteered a multitude of times, as it is required coursework, in addition to having to complete a volunteer project in order to graduate from any level of education including institutions of higher learning.

As well, under the philosophy of Xanthaiyanism, each adherent is supposed to dedicate a significant amount of their free time to volunteerism, or better yet, participate in an occupation as a volunteer. Those who partake in volunteer work are lauded and respected to the highest degree.

So it is safe to say volunteerism is a very big part of our society.

Citizens are encouraged to volunteer for many things. Many students will volunteer in a Tidy Towns Committee, Red Cross or pound to name but a few, to list as an extra-curricular activity to help with their college application. There is also an award called 'Gaisce' which is given to members of the public who show merit in a number of fields, one of which being community involvement. The older generations are also encouraged to volunteer in any ways they can manage.
