Purpuria has never had mandatory military service for either sex. However, serving as an enlisted soldier is a prerequisite for becoming a commissioned officer.

Icarianna has no forced military service. We get enough volunteers due to education and other benefits offered to those who serve. Our military is not huge, anyway. We do have a good defense system in place and cyber experts, spies and more available. We excel in negotiating, wine-making and party-throwing. Usually anyone disgruntled with us can come to a peaceful solution. Nevertheless, if worse comes to worse, we can hire mercenaries as needed.

Military conscription is banned in the Democratic Republic, the National Military of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor is required by law to be an entirely voluntary force.

The Jeffrian Military has little need for conscription, since most ground forces are entirely robotic. The only branch of the military that still requires humans is our space fleet, where human crews run our gigantic starships. Even then, there are enough volunteers to man our starships.

The Folksriche does not practise conscription nor does it currently draft members of the public into the military. The Athellandic military is completely voluntary and professional. The state does retain the right to draft adult citizens, both male and female, should the nation be threatened with invasion or is deeply involved in an armed conflict.

Though not conscription, the state does mobilise the military reserves in the event of natural or man-made disaster to ensure a quicker clean up and response.

Anyone from 16 to 22 is legally required to serve at least 2 years in any branch of the military. Conscripts are relatively free to choose what they'd like to do but there are still restrictions. The only way to "get around" conscription is to have an injury that limits your performance working in the military by a substantial amount, this can postpone your service years to after 22 but it will not shorten the time required.

There is currently no conscription in Barfleur, as it faces no external threats to national existence. However, under the Immortal Constitution, the Humane Senate reserves the right to enact conscription during a period of "war or other national emergency", provided it conscripts men and women equally.

The Queendom of Ayissor, previously the Empire of Ayissor, has had mandatory conscription in place for it's entire lifetime, and there are two types of conscription, the new and the old.
The old has followed Ayissor since it's existence as a nation, and applies to those of noble birth.
It states that every noble family must give up their first born daughter to be taught in the ways of witchcraft and Magicka, and be turned into a witch warrior of Ayissor for as long as as 30 years after birth, today this tradition is still a thing, albeit the age is reduced to 25 instead.
The second law which is relatively new, it requires all females of age 17 of non-noble birth to enlist in the Ayissoran military, in various positions that are not related to Magicka.

All able-bodied male Imperial citizens are required to complete two years of service in the Imperial Legions or five years of service in the Imperial Reserve upon coming of age. An extension of this policy to include female citizens is being contemplated.

Military conscription was official and mandatory until 1946, following the end of WW2.During its enforcement, male citizens aged 20 and above are mandated to enlist in the armed forces with the exception of a written letter stating an acceptable reason of abstention.Before the World Wars, able men were required to serve for a minimum of 5 years, but this was increased up to 10 years after the First World War and lasted until the whole conscription rule was abolished on the 3rd of July 1946.

All able-bodied and non-exempt males are upon their 17th birthday liable to be draughted to muster and serve in the Royal Army. Only around a fifth of the male population is actually draughted, however. Such conscripts, known as mustermen, are required to actively serve for one year, followed by ten years in the militia. Exempt males include clergymen, teachers, doctors, university students, apprentices and skilled labourers. Muster may be deferred until the 25th birthday. The obligation may be transferred to another person.

Conscription is mandatory for all men in Zawikhiztan, they serve for 3 years on their summer breaks whilst College/University is Closed and they serve between age 17-20. Service for women is only voluntary, however all Zawikhs are taught how to operate a gun in Grade 12 (16 y/o). Draft Dodging is a serious crime and offenders may be sent to 5 years of prison and an extra 6 years of service. No man is exempted from conscription, may he be rich or poor.

Shurdington doesn't have a standing army, but each constituent state is require to provide a certain number of recruits to the Prince's Corps of Gentlemen and Yeomanry (a sort of gendarmerie that functions as both a defence and police force). How each state does that is up to them - some rely entirely on volunteers, others use conscripts, some use a mix of both. The remuneration personnel get for service is also decided upon by their home state.

Do women have to provide any other contribution instead of military service, or are they entirely exempt? In some countries those who aren't suitable for military service pay increased income tax.

2-year mandatory service in the desired branch for all able-bodied citizens. It is important for a small nation to be able to defend itself from outside threats by having a large reserve of individuals to call upon, so having the entire adult population familiar with basic drills and movements bolsters overall readiness and national security.
Of course, not everyone can serve, whether it’s physical or ethical (religious waivers do not exist as religion is outlawed). Citizens with qualifying disabilities can put in for purely garrison work, as can conscientious objectors. Although the nation was born out of an intense civil war, we are not at war so it is a peacetime army, mostly centered around drilling and field training exercises.

Saarkonian Armed Forces are formed from volunteers and officers from military academies. There is no conscription except wartime, when male citizens aged 18-60 can be enlisted (but they will still get paid like volunteers).

All Catsfernian citizens are eligible at any time for conscription, but most of the time people are only conscripted is some specialists are needed or if there is a time of war. Orphans however are always conscripted from childhood and raised in military educational facilities until the age of 18 where they are made mostly into common soldiers for 10 years.

Conscription is only used, at least at the moment, if the country is in dire danger of being invaded and either taken over or outright destroyed, and lasts until said war is over. But we don't really have any serious enemies.

Conscription does not exist during peacetime. During wars, a vote can be taken on drafts- although this has only ever been invoked once in Pacomian history- during the Third World War, which Pacomia participated in from 1989 to 1993. Generally it will be a 5% draft. Total conscription doesn’t exist.
